Nice to see more communication from the team amidst everything. Cant wait to get into T6 content again!
Gamer dads rejoice you killed TBC for everyone else but atleast you can kill Illidan within 6 months now
Big ufff... Looks like subs tanked too hard bcs SSC/TK was too difficult for a loot of ppl.
Why? Just why?
Honestly its very obvious that the user "Fatnerdxo" made the mistake of investing thousands of gold into primal shadows and shadow resist greens in the hope that this encounter will require max shadow resistance like it was speculated so he could make a fortune. There is no challenge in these encounters except "wear more resistance" which is really boring and anything that makes it easier and stop people from wasting their gold on overpriced reagents and gear thanks to abunch of wannabe wall-street Andys is good.
If you read the article you'll find that BT only had bug fixes instead of nerfs AND they are planning pre/post nerf versions of Sunwell (as per the original game).Blizzard killed TBC right from the pre-patch with 2 week instead of 6 week timeframe, char boosts, allowing botting, pvp arena points nerf, BG honor errors. It has nothing to do with "gamer Dads".
But-uhh. There was not "post-nerf" BT, since it was never nerfed. Right?
Are we getting all Sunwell bosses on release or are they doing it like back in the day when you could only kill a few bosses then you had to wait for more of them to be released?
Well I appreciate them being honest, but the lack of consistency is annoying as hell. Why is Vashj and Sunwell able to get a pre-nerf launch, but BT not?
If it wasnt for the 58 boost i wouldnt be still playing 10+hrs a day.
I'm glad Blizzard realizes they're only getting PTR feedback from the Hardcore community. T5 content has been ridiculous until the nerfs rolled through, and with a nerfed BT, the majority of players raiding casually will be able to catch back up. Sunwell Plateau is notoriously hard, and I've never heard anyone claim that BT was anywhere near that scale of difficulty. I'd much rather they make the last raid tier the most difficult, so I don't have to feel obligated to continue raiding once my guild hits the wall.
Ridiculous? In what way?
The OP is technically right, but he might as well be blowing smoke because it was only one major patch later. I agree with kellar's post that the guy was probably just banking, literally, on certain things.Kaivax, the CM, is also technically right, but he might be causing people to draw an inaccurate picture.Just so people can easily see the facts, here's the whole history of Black Temple changes, with copy/pasted patch notes:Patch 2.1, with the Black Temple raid, is released on May 22, 2007.- Arcanist Xorith of the Scryers and Haldor the Compulsive of the Aldor will sell specialized flasks only usable in raid zones to players who are exalted with Cenarion Expedition: the Sha'tar and the Scryers or the Aldor (respectively). The flasks will only be purchasable with tokens obtained from creatures in Tempest Keep: The Eye, The Serpentshrine, and The Black Temple.Patch 2.1.2-June 19, 2007- Ashtongue Spiritbinders may now cast heals on Ashtongue Sorcerors, Channelers, and the Shade of Akama.- The Illidan Stormrage fight encounter has received additional tuning and improvements.Patch 2.2.0-September 25, 2007- Mother Shahraz will now pick a new beam to cast after every 3rd beam instead of after every 5th. This means she is much less likely to cast the same beam many times in a row.- Fatal Attraction now deals 750 damage on the first tick, 1500 on the second, 2250 on the third, and 3000 on all subsequent ticks.- Prismatic Shield is now more fun. Specifically, Mother Shahraz now takes bonus damage from one school when she is resistant to its opposite. Her resistances now change randomly every 15 seconds and are capped at 25%.2.2.0 Undocumented Changes:- The traps laid during the Illidan Stormrage encounter are no longer activated by clicking.- Howl of Azgalor is now a zone-wide effect.Patch 2.3.0-November 13, 2007- Shadowmoon Grunts will no longer drop Black Temple quality loot.Patch 2.4.0-March 25, 2008- Players will no longer require an attunement quest to enter the Black Temple.- Players who have completed the attunement quests for Black Temple and Hyjal will be granted the title of "Hand of A'dal".2.4.0 Undocumented Changes:- The size of Supremus in Black Temple has increased significantly. Also, the hitbox of Supremus has been reduced significantly. For that matter, here's Mount Hyjal's history:Patch 2.0.3, The Burning Crusade expansion including the Mount Hyjal raid, is released on January 9, 2007.Patch 2.1.2-June 19, 2007- The number of preliminary waves before each boss in the Caverns of Time: Battle for Mount Hyjal event has been reduced from 12 to 8, and some of the larger waves have fewer creatures than before.Patch 2.2.0-September 25, 2007- Faction and loot rewards have been added to non-boss mobs in the Battle of Mount Hyjal raid event. The faction awarded by bosses has been decreased to balance this. <--(This likely included Heart of Darkness.)-- The health of Jaina and Thrall have been increased again from their temporarily lowered values. They should be able to absorb quite a bit more incidental damage during the event.- Archimonde has received several adjustments and fixes to prevent some of the harder to counter combinations of his abilities. Archimonde's Soul Charge silence has been lowered in duration to 4 seconds, and the death of the Priest with Spirit of Redemption will no longer create two Soul Charges. The casting time of Archimonde's fear has been increased to 1.5 seconds, and he should now use his Fear ability on a much more consistent interval. Archimonde will also no longer cast Grip of the Legion on very far away targets.- Archimonde will no longer cast Grip of the Legion on targets that have just been hit with Air Burst.Patch 2.3.0-November 13, 2007- Increased the reputation awarded for killing Archimonde in Hyjal Summit.Patch 2.4.0-March 25, 2008- The Vials of Eternity quest is no longer necessary for entry to Hyjal. This quest is still required for faction rings.- Players who have completed the attunement quests for Black Temple and Hyjal will be granted the title of "Hand of A'dal".- Scale of the Sands reputation will now be awarded in Hyjal at a much higher rate.- Azgalor's Rain of Fire now affects a smaller area.2.4.0 Undocumented Changes:- The area around Archimonde in Battle for Mount Hyjal has been decreased in size and players are no longer able to go into the hills around his area. Also, the hitbox of Archimonde has been reduced significantly. As you can see, OP is correct about the Mother Shahraz nerfs. However, they were the only meaningful ones between both Black Temple and Mount Hyjal, and you could argue they were just proper retunings and adjustments to what was likely as frustrating a fight as Solarian was before her 2.2 adjustments. Hearts of Darkness were indeed added to the Mount Hyjal raid later in 2.2, but that doesn't matter for TBC Classic. As you can also see, Kaivax is correct that there weren't many adjustments to these two raids. That does not mean there was only ever one version of Mother Shahraz or both of these raids. However, the changes were largely just adjustments to be less frustrating, nothing like what 2.2 was for SSC and TK where multiple things were very clearly intentionally nerfed or otherwise significantly changed.
Yikes
