No, they were high on Bloodthistle.
No, well yes directly. But, only because bloodthistle has magic properties, if it did not, they would not like it.
Prior to the Sunwell’s destruction, all high elves everywhere were constantly bathed in its magical power. Now bereft of this arcane energy, the blood elves (and high elves) suffered. Kael’thas claimed that they would soon die without another magical source to replace the Sunwell. The blood elves therefore set about learning to drain magic from alternative sources
Without mana/magic that most are addicted to, they are nothing more than panhandling drug addicts roaming around searching for their next fix.

come on, Nature? What about orc hunters? The guys that over in Ashenvale are literally cutting down immense amounts of the trees that animals call home.
The behaviour of Warsong and the behaviour of Frostwolf differ widely on a number of issues. As for in tune with nature, killing trees or killing wildlife... have you checked to see how many quests in the Night Elf starter zones do NOT involve killing vast numbers of animals? Of all the Alliance starter races, Night Elves look to be the
most
bloodthirsty. "In tune with nature" does not necessarily mean "not killing things," even while the Warsong do not reflect the most shamanistic culture the orcs have.

I believe that they kill animals to keep balance.I believe one of the first quests tell you about: "How the rains made the boar/nightsaber population to outgrow those of other animals and thus some must be sacrificed."
And thus I repeat:
"In tune with nature" does not necessarily mean "not killing things"
