Drop rates were about 1 per ever 5 kills. Hunters seemed to drop em more than mystics. Don't be afraid of their pets - they die in about 2 hits.

It was very easy quest for me drop rate around 50% I kill hunters, mistycs and druids.

I found the drop rate more like 10 to 1 maybe i had a bad run and i found them equally in all 3 feralfen villages druids didnt drop anyf or me

People are complaining about quest drop rate, mind you ONLY Hunters and Mystics drop them. If you're going for druids, they have a 0.0% drop rate.

Quick tip I found useful. If you are melee the Hunter mob puts a net on you and runs off, this doesn't last long but can aggro more. I found that if I killed one of the mobs in a hut nearby and then dragged the Hunter and it's pet inside the Hunter didn't have as much space to run about and if he did net you he couldn't go far.

Pull the Hunter's pet into the hut, run around a corner inside so the Hunter can't shoot you from outside, then kill both in the hut.

Line of sight is so helpful :)

I would go with the hunters i didnt get one drop off the mystics but the hunters were really good with their drops

As a little diversion from the quest itself there are lockboxes in and around the mystic's huts that rogues can level lockpicking on. I was around 302 lockpicking at the start of the quest, finished the quest on around 315.

Alrighty, I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence... or it's part of the quest, but if you attack a hunter/mystic, then bring it to a small bird like totem figure on the ground, the drop rate is 100% (or was at least for me). I killed about 25 of these mobs got 2 totems. Then tried this after killing a mystic near one and getting a drop. Brought the hunters/mystics to the same totem and got a totem EVERY time. 7 totems in 7 kills. Coincidence or not? this is what i found.

Just completed this quest 5/4/07.

i attempted the small bird totem figure idea stated above with no positive results. infact, i didn't get any to drop near the lil bird totems.

typical drop rate tho, 20 kills with nothing- then 3 or 4 in a row.

Drop rate seemed better for me at the camp furthest to the west, co-ordinates 43, 62.

The totems do drop off of the druids... I pulled one by mistake and when I killed it, It had a totem on it... I'm not sure if they added it or not, but the Feralfen Druids do drop the totems, but it may not be as high of a drop as the Hunter's and Mystics...

Ok. The druids drop rate for me was the best everything else hardly dropped the totems at all. The first 5 totems I got were at a drop rate of 100%, then the last few was more like a totem every 3 kills, but the Hunters and Mystics didn't drop any in the 10 I killed. The place I got my druids was the tree-hut at 42, 63. It helps to know that they turn into giant owls at first and then become the Feralfen people once they need to heal. They will heal once or twice depending on how fast you attack and kill them. Once they are out of the owl form they do not change back.

ok idk about you guys but i had a terrible time with this quest - helped finish the unidentified plant parts quest but I got 5 totems out of probably 30-35 kills.

Maybe i was lucky or maybe they changed the droprate but the first 5 kills gave no drops and after that every druid, hunter, mystic i killed dropped one totem. Finished quest in about 10 minutes.

Hmm...odd. i seemed to get a full 100% drop rate on the hunters and druids. maybe its luck or since the latest patch? but anyways coords are confirmed around 47,62

Map is bang on the money for the mobs, but the drop rate is terrible. Gave up killing the hunters and mystics after 15 minutes with no totems and headed inside the largest of hte buildings for the Druids. Still not great but better.

48,60 and surrounding area. i was there when others were hitting it too so maybe that hurt the drop but still its ridiculous.

From all the kills, I got drops from the Hunters. Nothing else gave the drops.

I'm been at 48, 60 and the three camps and find that hunters, mystics and druids all drop at much better rates than previously posted. Every other one is worst case I've seen.

This is the worst quest in the game. Drop rate is very low at either of the 3 camps around 46,60. I spent two hours wrapping this up.

Droprate is not bad, just make sure not to kill the druids since they dont give the totems :)

Cant speak too much about drop rates - it seems that every time I point out the logic that is used by the AI to determine drop rate people's eyes juss seem to gloss over - So

Go to 42, 63 and you will see a rather large building there guarded by 2 druids at the ramp up (lone pullable at lvl 63) and 2 hunters and their pets located amidst the courtyard to said building. Get in the water behind the building and pull the druids to there.
Once those two are dispatched run up the ramp half way and get ready to deal with 2 druids. If you stopped on the ramp half way the druids do not pull. cast prep buffs and then go up inch by inch till U can cast / shoot and pull the 2 druids. once they are dead rest / heal and go after the last one on the first level - it is best to run in and deal with him so if U take long U dont get a repop (remember the ole 3 minute re-pop deal). once that guy is dead heal up and inch up the stair to get the hunter and his pet. Rinse & repeat for the third floor druid fight. U CAN get juss one druid if U run up the stair and engage next to the one at the top of the stair (at lvl 63). If not U will likely get two - on the rare occasion that U get all 3 focus fire on one so at least if U die U will be able to rez in that room where the one that died stood.
Once they are all 3 down U can go up and down the stairs in that place or juss camp that floor (if U R patient).

The druids do drop the totems. Every type of mob in the camp drops the totems, at least for me they did. I averaged a totem every other kill.

Kill probably close to 60 hunter/mystics by the time I had my 10 totems.

Stop sayin that the drop rate isnt bad... it horrible. Worst kind!
Prepare to stay in the 3 camps for atleast 1-2 hours to get the 10 needed.

Personally, the drop rate was horrible. If I had to make a guess, my first totem dropped on about my 20th kill of a mystic. Never got one off a druid, only mystics and hunters. after the first one dropped, it was about every other kill after that.

44,63 is the center of the feralfen village where the mobs can be killed that drop these. imo, the drop rate sucked equally on them all, but that xp i didn't mind. good luck.

easy quest just stay on 43,26 killing hunters and mystics the druids never get close enough to aggro. i got all the totems in about 30 minutes. the mystics are in the 3 buildings surronding the tree house. didn't take long. its easy to just stay on this one island. no reason to draw aggro of other crap.

I have been killing for a bit now and hunters have dropped 0 and Mystics have dropped 5.

But to me this makes sense, what type of chars have totems, shamans, so kill the shaman mobs, not hunters (imo)

I've had worst quest. The drop rate wasn't all that bad...the trick is to work your way to the middle of the 3 huts. If you have sheep or freeze or shackle, detain the hunter, kill the pet (then hunter). The 3 mistics in the huts have a better chance of giving you the totem. After that, on the way to the next set of huts, kill the hunters in the same manner above. Don't even mess with the druids- they don't drop the totems. Took about 20 mins to complete. Also, do this quest with "black sting" to save time.

I went to the tree's south of the graveyard and I went into the camp and picked a tree, cleared it all the way to the top and back down and then I cleared the mobs outside of the tree that had respawned, by then I had all the totems I needed

I only killed hunters and my drop rate was 56%.

Just look for the tamed spore bats they have with them, and you can quickly find enough hunters to get your totems.

Tip for shammies vs hunters, Chain lightning the hunter & once you get close use Fire Nova... pet will die fast

Had to kill about 30 of them, but it was nice. A lot of camps, easy mobs, and some netherweave/runecloth. About 3 greens dropped for me as well.

Found at 49, 59. Hunters, Druids and Mystics all drop totems, although the drop rate sucks just keep grinding.

To complete this quest you need to bring 10 Feralfen Protection Totems to Seer Janidi at Zabra'jin.

Make your way to the east of Zabra'jin and follow the road. Later you will spot multiple huts south of the road. There is Feralfen Village area, you should go there.
There are several mobs you can loot Feralfen Protection Totems from - Feralfen Mystics, Feralfen Hunters, Feralfen Druids - drop chance is lower than medium.

The most powerful tribe of Lost Ones in the marsh, the Feralfen, are said to possess powerful medicine. There may be no truth to such rumors, but anything that might help me channel the spirits of this world cannot be ignored.

Find the Feralfen mystics, hunters and druids, <name>, and capture their totems. Everything I need to know should be apparent from the carvings.
