Quite an easy fight; Solo'd him as a 19 rogue using only a Lesser Healing Potion. Only thing that remotely hurts is his flame breath which hit for 100. He also has a fear, so I'd recommend clearing the entire top of the hill.

Note that the adds respawn FAST, and he takes his time to arrive after summoning him, so you have to kill them then immediately summon him.

lvl20 fire mage - got him down to 25%, but he is too tough for someone with so little HP/armor. Used a coarse stone statue and a health pot, as well as Evoc, but couldn't get him down. Reran it with a 19 Shaman and it was a piece of cake.

Note that when you click on the bonfire, the Bundle of Dragon Bones is taken from your inventory, so if you die without killing him, you will have to abandon the quest and get it again from Prince Toreth to get another bundle of bones with which to summon Razormaw.

Not sure if they changed it, but I found this quest extremelly hard to solo as a 19 mage. He have a lot more than 980 hp as shown here, and moves really fast, making impossible to just kite. After 3 fireballs and some fire blasts left him still 90%.

I just solo'd this on a 20 Draenei Frost Mage, first attempt. He's *not* immune to Frost Nova, so I just used that whenever I could to put some distance between us, though he does move very fast. I pelted him with as many Frostbolts as I could, using Fire Blast as well. I only used Mana Shield once and GotN, didn't use Cold Snap or Evocation, and I'm not specced for Frostbite, but I do have Imp. Frost Nova and Permafrost. With all this in mind, you should be able to take him down pretty fast if you use all your abilities well.

They must have tweaked him in a couple of patches. Lvl 21 shaman and I have died twice with him at less then half health. fears ALOT!!! he even made me run off the side of the mountain. Bring help, and use disrupt attacks.

As a level 20 mage(frost), I found him quite hard, Took me about two minutes to kite him down, He had about 1020 health, Had to use Gift of Naaru half way through the fight.
He hit for between 40 and 50, And crits for 80-100.

Popped retaliation as a 20 fury warrior, probably wouldn't have needed to if i was draenei. Ended up with about 15% hp, not the easiest quest ever but the rewards are good.

a handy tip if your a shaman: set down an earthbound and a searing totem if he fears you he cant hit you cause he is slowed and the searing is just for dmg.

Solo'd as a lvl19 shadow priest. Didn't have to heal.
Open with Smite, Fear, Mind Blast, DoT and wand. Remember to keep up your bubble.

Just wanted to say how I did; let me preface by mentioning that I normally don't play physical DPS classes, and this was my first warrior above level 12 (I don't know why, but I always stopped after my level 10 quest). My Night Elf warrior was 19 at the time of acceptance and completion.

First try went horrible; I missed too many breaths and simply wasn't ready for him.

Second try I managed to down him with less than 100 HP left (I had 620 total). I kept an eye out for the breaths and caught more of them, and I also switched to def. stance and smacked him around with Revenge. I used one Lesser Healing Potion, and since I'm a Night Elf, didn't have GotN or anything to fall back on (he died well before my pot came off CD).

It's possible to solo, even while not being a Draenei, especially if you have any sort of interrupts for the breath.

As a druid at lvl 20, he is a complete pushover.

Root - (Insect Swarm if you're Balance) - Starfire - Starfire

Rinse and repeat. He did exactly -0- damage on me, since I simply moved out of range when he started casting his flame breath.

I soloed this as a 19 priest (shadow specd). It was fairly easy. Just clear the top, make sure inner fire is up, and summon him. While waiting, use power word shield. Back up and spam target him until he is clickable (as he is descending). As soon as possible cast shadow word: pain, and begin casting your spells. Your shield will go quickly, so make sure to keep that up. Use HoTs frequently. He will often get your health down to 50%, so make sure when your shield is up to use heal. When mana gets about halfway, use symbol of hope. There you go - he should go down in less than a minute. Just make sure bubble and SW: pain are up as much as possible. I didn't try fearing him, but it would be a good idea to if needed.

No health pots needed, although I unnecessarily used one when he was at 1%, and my health was ~40% - oops.

I tried as a 19 Firemage. It is simply impossible; the moment he landed, even though I was at max range already and spamming frostbolt, he was in melee before the cast went off. Then I frost nova'd, ran to max range and used fireball and frostbolt, after which he ran, slowed but still very fast, back into melee, feared me and killed me while my nova was on cooldown. The only thing I could do was run away, but he is so fast that he could not be slowed and thus kept hitting me- as a mage that means death.

I (17 Enhancement Shaman) and a 20 Shadow Priest duo'd this guy, although I died when we were feared and he was unable to heal me. Pretty easy fight.

As a shaman, having the tremor totem helps a lot, having interrupted the fears and most of the flame breaths. The flame breaths do hit for 100. I also had my healing stream totem (not too much good, but every little bit helped). Felt slightly noobish when I had my Stoneskin totem down the first time.

Also, he does take a while to come from the air initially. If you want some extra damage, definitely put your Searing totem down, but not until he's pretty much in front of you

Granted me 500 rep for Darnassus and 1650 exp when i completed this quest. Razormaw when I was lvl 22 was about 253 exp.

Bungled this quest and want to redo it. Dragon killed me. But the required dragon bones are now gone. How can I get the dragon bones again?

It's a lvl 20 elite, it takes a while for him to come after you have summoned him.

At first rather intimidating, however, he can be feared and i assume slowed, snared etc.

does hit hard. he hit me for 30-40 dmg, cloth priest with IF.

as priest.

keep shield up at all times.

SW:P, smite, smite, MB, fear, repaet.

Tactic: sumon Tremor Totem & Searing Totem, when he turn Red use Flame Shock then Earth shock and so going on... when u have anymore 60%hp use Gift of the naaru and continue damage and when 40% start casting Healing wave and after 20% use Potion if u need to!

for those who had trouble finding the way up to the dragon, the entrance is about 71,25, behind the big dragon's bones. Walk up the spiral and you'll get there.

19 Frostmage - 3 points in frostbite, not even 1 hp lost :) Just spammed frostbolt and nova'd twice, was pretty lucky with frostbite procs. Had all quest gear, with own buffs + the int buff from crystals.

It does help that we can put the hurt on undead mobs. Didn't have to use any potions or anything, just a simple fight like any other mob

You can only start last part when your 19. and aye its soloable. did it once as lvl 19 shammy and i tried to solo it now with my 19 warrior... but 2 others came and ''helped'' me :P ah well.. tried once later and made it. maybe they should leave that players thing ^^

i tried it with a shammy (enhancement) but because i didn't realize till late my lvl that i need a singe handed weapon with shield, i was more of a caster with a meele spec lol. ( i was using a 2h staff from deadmines)

over all didn't turn out well.

First try i waited for him and he didn't come after few sec. I alt tabed see what was missing, got back to the game and see my health bar at 30% with a big dragon in front of me. Of course i died, tried it one more time this time waited a while , he came and he owned me with Charles( yes with Charles), but i was able to take him down to 200 something hp.

HINTS: clear out the dragons around him, it will help a lot. also carry some hp potions or mana potions, its always good to have something for backup ( i didn't have any ><*)

this quest is suprisingly easy for draenei priests lvl 20+ b/c we have fear ward to fend off his terrifying roar, and shackle undead. If you start to get low health just shackle him and heal and get some mana back. Too easy :)

The frostmage above wasnt lying. the first two times i tried it, stuff went wrong. but both times he was inchest from death. the first time, he feared me into an add, the second was a glitch that made him evade teh killing blow (dont try and kite him off the top)

what happens once you "hit" the pyre is he flys up above the air and out of site to the east, then he flys back down (it all takes about 10 seconds so be patient) then he will fly back down, hover for 2-3 seconds then come after you. HE IS FAAAST! i think you MUST be frost speced in order to kill him (Frostbite saves your life) only go on the offensice when hes immobilized (Frostbite or Nova) DO NOT TRY AND CAST WHEN HES HITTING YOU, he will fear/hit/ or breath on you, and it hurts. as for offensive spells, use frost nova to immobilize him, then run away a little bit and spam frostbolt. hope this was helpful

Easy with a lvl 19 elemental shaman... drop a Stoneskin totem just before summoning and do a Gift of Naaru just after (so you have some healing going during the first part of the battle), and spam Earth Shock and Lightning Shield as much as possible.

The only possible danger point was when a whelp spawned right at the very end of my battle and started attacking from behind, so don't wait too long after clearing the plateau before you do the summoning.

If you die , get the bundle of dragon bones from quest giver,

make sure kill all the whelps before u

summon dragon , its 20 elite,

it uses fear

u need heal like 1 or 2 times ...

I just did it with a 19 druid and it was incredibly easy. Just clear all the whelps up top first... Buff/drink up, etc... Go into bear and just bash his head in. :P You can stun him to interrupt the fire thing. When you're getting low on health, just shift out and use Rejuvenation and Regrowth then go back into bear and go at it.

Simple.

Soloed this dude on my 19 nelf priest, and had about 50/75 percent hp/mp left at end of fight. I used an endurance tactic - all I did was put SW:Pain up on him and wand. The rest of my mana was used for keeping me alive. I did have to pot once because I was feared and crit, but otherwise a piece of cake.

It works, but takes about a minute to kill him this way. It isn't necessarily a good tactic for those priests w/o 2 points to improve healing spell interruptions.

The guy is easily soloable as a Mage... my Gnome Mage doesn't have Gift of the Naaru (duh really?) so that's how easy it is, no need to heal urself, freeze him with Frost Nova, and spam Frostbolts, if necessary put ur Mana Shield on but it is very unlikely that u'll need it at all, he barely even touches u. Forgot the name of the skill but use that "Fire Ward" thing that also helps, shouldn't take u more than 30-40 seconds. Bring some potions if ur not feeling confident, hope this helps

It's kinda challenging for a lvl 22 druid but not impossible. With Marks of the Wild and Thorns on attack him in bear form using demoralizing roar every now and then. You gotta be prepared for fear (hate it) and a fire attack that takes ~100 health from you.

My tactic was demoralizing first then mauling him constantly. When my life bar went down by 1/3 I used healing touch and back to bear form again. I had to heal like 3 times but it's not that bad.

The quest was pretty easy. I also frostbolt spammed. He is fearable, and you can slow him down, but he runs really fast so you would be best off freezing or fearing him. And also, an easy tactic, you can run away from his Flame Breath and it won't hurt you. You don't even have to slow him down for it, just run in the opposite direction.

i was kinda nervous about this so i tried to get a group but nobody wanted to join, so i just decided what the hell, ill try to solo it. went over there, plowed through everything on the way up the hill thing, stuck the bones in there, waited there for a little bit, huge, sweet lookin dragon came down and i owned him lol. lvl 21 warrior fury specced, just demo roar-sunder armor-rend-gift of the naaru-heroic strike a few times and retaliation to finish it off. way easier than i thought =]

I was level 19 when I did it, and I did it as a Dwarf Priest:) He is fairly hard since he critted me for 104 but he was doable. I wanded alot + kept SW:P up, had to use my desperate prayer to:)

Lvl 20 shaman...EASY!

Just set up Tremor Totem for Fears (don't get too away or you will not get the effect), Healing Stream Totem (If you've done Call of Water, if not then just use Lesser Healing Wave to heal yourself) and Searing Totem (Even though he is a DRAGON he gets pretty beat up with Fire, lol) Then spam Frost Shock + Lightning Bolt and you should kill him pretty fast, though I'd recommend that you kill EVERYTHING around the fighting place cuz frost shock generates a hell lot of threat and u might pull some unnecessary mobs.

Did it as a 19 Shadow Priest (well, spec'd entirely in Shadow so far), was a little worried I might be too low but this guy is NO elite, goes down just like a regular mob.

Shield, Mind Blast, SW: Pain and Smite until Shield was ready again. Interesting note, You can fear him, use it when and if things are getting a little heavy. I used a mana potion and Gift of the Naru during the fight though. But otherwise it was really a pretty easy fight.

He is easy soloable for a level 19 hunter (like I did on an alt). After dropping the bones in the fire to call him down from the skies it takes a while for him (her?) to appear. If you have no way of staying out of his fire breath, it may be better to bring a friend.

U do not have to be level 21 to get this quest, i was 19 when i got it,

the hardest part is clearing the area around the fire, which isnt hard at all

soloing this isnt hard either but u will lose health if u dont haave good armour, get a health potion. it leaves u with almost half ur health after killing him , then all u have to do is eat.

Shamans at level 20: this guy's pretty easy to take down solo. Make sure you clear all the whelps and broodlings around the summit of the mountain first, and fully recover. Before you drop the bones into the fire, drop a Healing Stream Totem and a Tremor Totem. Don't bother wasting your mana dropping a Searing Totem or a Fire Nova Totem because he's immune to fire. I also had the lowest level Well Fed Bonus (+2 stamina and +2 spirit) and a Tracker's Ferocity (from the Irradiated Crystal Shards) active. And finally of course, cast or renew your Lightning Shield and Rockbiter Weapon. Just as he lands, cast Gift of the Naaru on yourself, and open your attack with a nice Frost Shock. You should end the battle with plenty of mana, so don't worry about the cost. Just keep hitting him with your melee weapon and Frost Shocking him when the cooldown has ended. Recast Lighning Shield when it wears off, and he should be dead before you even lost 25% of your health. Your Gift of the Naaru and Healing Stream Totem should be doing a good job at keeping your health high, and the Tremor Totem should dispell his fear very quickly after it's cast. I've solo'd Razormaw before as a level 20 warrior, and I must say, Shamans have it so much easier than Warriors. ;D

Semi-interesting note on this undead dragon is that he can be feared. I had my 20 warlock doing this line of quests (yeah, it's a pain to train since you have to go to IF when you level, but I haven't done the drenai quests a billion times like the human/dwarf/elf ones) and feared the dragon without even thinking. Oddly enough it worked.

This is one of those MOBs that makes you wonder what Blizz thinks "elite" really means.

Tackled this guy with relatively poor gear on a new hunter at lvl 19 (only quested/dropped greens at best). Hadn't gotten around to learning new pet abilities, so my cat only had growl up. The dragon got him to about 1/3 health only because I healed late.

Great reward for little effort...don't pass this one up.

Found out for myself, you need to Abandon the Quest and get it again. Otherwise you don't have the dragon bones to call him.

Soloed as a level 20 Priest, mostly Holy but a little Discipline (Wand Specialization, since I shoot so much of the time). I also have a nice wand, the Opaque wand, which has proved very handy since level 15. And since I have been saving good Cloth armor from my other charas for a long time, I'm pretty well equipped (though by no means a hundred gold piece twink).

The island is a large spiral, and I would say it was impossible to get lost, except that there are so many people out there who would prove me wrong. (Most, I think, have been featured on Jay Leno's "Jaywalking" segments.)

It would have been a lot handier if I had had Shield up at the beginning of the fight! I had the Crystal of Insight (+5 INT) working and of course PW Fortitude and Inner Fire. I believe I was also well fed for a little extra STA and SPI boost. I did the usual Priest things: PW Pain, Mind Blast, Smite repeatedly, and fired the wand when it seemed useful.

As it turns out, the Solid Stone Statues (why, yes, I am a Jewelcrafter, like every single other Draenel out there) were not to be that useful. His Fear effect makes you wander away from their range. I maintained Shield when I could and did Renew and Gift of the Naaru once each.

He fell, and I had perhaps 10% HP left. I won't say it was easy, but it certainly is possible to solo.

heres wat i did set up 2 totems searing and stoneskin

when i engaged i turned on gift of naru then i healed when it feared and tended to my totems then i re put my totems and kept on spamming earth shock and it died =) pretty easy even for a 19 shammy

I just got the quest as lvl 19 shaman, got him to 10% 2 times before i finally killed him solo.. I suggest that you clear the entire area before calling him as he will fear you into mobs if you don't.. hehe

I was doing these quests for Darnassus rep at 70 and all 3 quests in this line gave me only 10% of the rep posted (25 instead of 250, 50 instead of 500). Is that because I did the quests at max level? I think it's bugged because when I completed some Ashenvale quests I still recieved full rep rewards.

Any ideas?

Confirmed location at the top of the mountain. /way 72 20. You MUST have a bag of bones to lure the dragon onto the mountain. He just flies around until you place the bones in the fire.

How to do Razormaw:

accept the quest
go to 74, 24 and follow the path
interact with Ever-burning Pyre /way 72,70, 20,72
wait a few seconds for Razormaw appear
kill Razormaw
return the quest (75, 34)

Solo with mage 19 TBC Classic.
1) Kill all small dragons near the razormaw spawn to have some space.
2) Drink and eat to full health, have all your cds.
3) Razormaw receives less damage from fire spells. Also casting frostbolt is not the best idea (casting time lose from hits). For killing it I reccomend start with Arcane Missiles use Frost nova then cast 1 Frost bolt and spam Arcane Missiles till next frost nova. When u have no hp use Gift of Naaru or potions. 500 hp+ total (with heals) is enough.

Pretty easy for lv20 shaman to solo. He's too fast to kite even with slows so just use tremor and fire totem after clearing the area. Had to use 2 lesser healing waves, 2nd was just a safety net. Any healing or mana potions will be helpful if you have trouble.

Descrizione

Many of the black dragonflight were slain during the attacks. One of them, a lieutenant of Deathwing himself, still haunts this place. If you look to the heavens, you can see his spectral countenance circling the skies. His hatred is so great that he remains even in death.

Take the bones that you gathered for me earlier to the top of the mountain on this island and place them in the ever-burning pyre. This act should signal Razormaw to descend. When he does, slay his undead form.
