They are around 82,68 in Ashenvale. Did this quest along with Reclaiming Felfire Hill. All in the same place.

pain in the butt for fire mages. the searing infernals are immune to fire damage and the roaming felguards have tons of fire resistance. had to spam frostbolt and arcane missiles to get this done.

The lashers are always in short supply. The alliance and the horde are both sending players to kill these mobs. About a quarter as many lashers spawn as anything else, so you will likely aggro a bunch of felguards or infernals while trying to find six lashers - and they go down easier than the other mobs. So concentrate on lashers if you see them.

Felguard dropped a 23 dps fire want about the 15th I killed.

In advance, I apologize for CAPS, but I did it for ease and speed of reading, since there seem to be no bold or italics available. I only CAPPED the important info / names.

Coords:
80, 68. After the bridge when heading south from WARSONG LUMBER CAMP.

Location:
When looking at the map, locate WARSONG LUMBER CAMP & SPLINTERTREE POST. Go directly in between those two landmarks and then go -->>south towards mountains<<--. Location known as, of course, FELFIRE HILLS.

Notes:
Soloed this quest as a 27 Holy Priest. It's not difficult if you keep a good eye on your surroundings. I only died once and it was because I wasn't minding close aggro.

The INFERNALS have a fairly small area of wandering / aggro. They really aren't difficult to kill. If you are unsure of where their path of travel is, watch them for a few seconds. They travel it slowly, but the entire cycle of wandering isn't long at all.

The FELGUARDS are more difficult to kill. They stun repeatedly, about every 5 seconds, so be prepared for that and put your full attention into killing them. Their path of wandering / aggro is a bit harder to predict than the infernals, but again, by watching them, you can easily track their path of travel.

The LASHERS are easy to kill, but very hard to find. Their spawn rate appears to be pretty low. I recommend just clearing out areas for XP while you wait for them to pop. Also, they seem to pop in close to the same place, or at least they did for me. So if you find one, I'd say stay in that area to find more. But also don't be afraid to browse around for them. I found one or two in a different area. I had to wait for them to pop even when no other players had been around for a few hours!

I personally found -NO- need to go to DEMON FALL CANYON. The quest kills I needed were readily available to me on FELFIRE HILLS.

threalbob is right - not many Lashers, but attack the first 3 before any other creatures and another 3 will have respawned by the time you are done...

You don't need to go into the canyon for this. All the mobs are on Fellfire Hill. The Lashers (I found) are to the north of the road.

Did this as a level 34 undead priest with no problems. I was surprised, however, at how hard it was to kill the felguards. They never got close to damaging me severely, but my shield went down several times and they did frequently stun. Very annoying. Also, the felguards often resisted Mind Flay: to the point that I stopped using it when fighting them.

As a priest, I had different tactics for the 3 types:

Felguards: Shield. Target for melee. Pull with Mind Blast. Shadow Word: Pain and Touch of Weakness (undead). Watch self stab with knife, while waiting for Mind Blast. Mind Blast again. Shield again. Wand to death.

Searing Infernals. Shield/target as above. Pull with Mind Blast. Shadow Word: Pain and Touch of Weakness. Mind Flay. Mind Blast. Wand to death.

Mannoroc Lashers: Shield/target as above. Pull with Mana Burn or Mind Blast (I alternated). Shadow Word: Pain and Touch of Weakness. Mana Burn. Mana Burn. If still alive, wand to death.

As others have said, the lashers were annoyingly hard to find, and Diabolical Plans did drop for me, so I was able to do that quest, which has really good rewards for its level. The follow-up to Diabolical Plans grants 65s and a green ring of your choice of 3.

I did have some mana difficulties with this method, and consumed a fair amount of smoked sagefish.

Probably one of the worst quests ever, mobs are hard to kill and the lashers are scarce.

Manoroc lashers were kinda hard to find - so I just sorta hung around 83,70 (or the area on your map just outside the entrance to Demon Fall Canyon for you poor non-coords ppl :D) until they respawned. Made a nice circuit with the Orc killin, Lumber collecting and tree planting. Plus one of the demons dropped some "Diabolical plans" which set off another quest. Plans were funny to read too :) Didn't get mobbed even once, they were spaced out nicely!
I think there's two versions of this, one for Alliance and one for Horde.

This is the correct quest text.

The area you need to get to is halfway between the Warsong Lumber Camp and Splinter Tree Outpost on the southern road. Coordinates are from 80,68 to 84,67.

Mobs are level 30 demons. No problem to solo with my level 31 rogue.

Edit: The monsters in this area can drop Diabolical Plans which starts another quest.

You can find more lashers in Demon Fall Canyon up on Demon Fall Ridge. Entrance to Demon Fall Canyon around 84,70 and Demon Fall Ridge 70,80 I found at least the six you need without having to wait for them to respawn in the canyon.

My Level 29 Druid paired this quest with "Reclaiming Felfire Hill" (Reclaiming Felfire Hill as they take place in the same area and are for about the same level. I just walked around the same area, clearing the area near each planting mound of MOBs first. I had no problem finding all the MOBS to kill (I took my time -- killed respawns).

I used cat form for the Lashers and the Searing Infernals but, as others reported, did have trouble with the Roaming Felguards. After the first attempt to kill one as a cat failed dismally (luckily the graveyard isn't far away), I found that hitting them with root, moonfire, etc. first worked...then shifted to cat form and finished them off...although it was a close call.

I am a pretty lame player, so this should be fine for those who are better skilled.

I found too many of those succubus wannabes! First of all, you don't have to kill all of the Felguards Infernals between 80,68 and 84,67, which they are found. Between those two points theres the mouth to Demon Fall Canyon at 84,72, now there are 2 split offs down there, one being at 84,77 which is to the left of the opening not too far in, I found 3 Lashers at 88,77 up there. There were afew Inernals and Felguards on the way up but its worth it at the top since the Lashers are so 'rare' apparently...

Same goes for at the far back of the canyon, if you look to the right theres a line of lanturns at 83,77, leading up and at the top, at 80,80 theres another little village with more Lashers 5 up there at the most.

My only warning is that in both of those villages there is a group of lvl 30 hounds that stick together and go counter clockwise, so my suggestion is since they move so slow, wait until they pass you then head into the village, once you're done and leaving, they'll be making their way around again and wont have to worry about them so long as you dont get too close to aggro.

Easy quest but even at lvl 32 it was alittle annoying, especially with the Felguards, they like to stun you... alot. :(

Completed this quest with a level 27 rogue solo. Just stayed in stealth and picked them off one by one. Only problem was the lashers, there was only 2 or 3 about at a time and respawn took ages.

Also got a quest from a drop called Diabolical plans.

As said before me Co-ordinates are from 80,68 to 84,67.

There is a remnant of the Legion to the south in the regions known as Felfire Hill, Demon Fall Canyon and Demon Fall Ridge. They are what is leftover from a force that once long ago invaded this world.

Go and destroy as many as you can before it is too late!
