Kind of a slow drop rate. I found a nice little group of them around 55,23 (maybe 8-10 prowlers in a small area), near Red Rocks which is directly east of Thunder Bluff.

Did this at 24 on an undead rogue, I'm trying to catch up on all the prerequisites for James Horde leveling guide (21-30). Doing all the prequest chains I missed, so I can get in synch with the guide eventually. I started by doing random quests all over and running instances alot. Its kind of a mess now and I'm running around doing quests like these to catch up (lvl 10 quest lol). I recommend his guide though, I followed it on my mage and people in my guild are in awe how fast I level.

I went to mulgore on my 43 undead to get rep and never could get this quest. I'm a little perturbed that I was able to complete everything else, but The Hunter's Way.

51,30 i got a 100% drop rate from there. Might be they changed it on 2.4

This quest opens up to all races when you kill Ghost Howl. That solves he blood elf/tauren mystery. I just completed The Hunter's Way as a 11 troll.

Melor Stonehoof is in Hunter Rise in Thunder Bluff. Hes in the back next to the Hunter's Hall Entrance.

Killed the last Prowler in Northern TB.You can also find some near the Praire Wolf Alphas...but thos r hard to find.

And I killed the Rake on the way..^.^.He looked so cute that I was about to go on my hunter and grab him.On Petopia they said he was a good fast-attack pet.(Yet my hunter is a lvl 24 :(...).

he was good, but recently (dont remember which patch) my hunter tamed him, has a standard 1.0 Attack Speed. even Broken Tooth is down to 2.0 now. at lvl 44 with hunter now and found King Bangalesh has 1.54 AS. a little off topic but w/e

This was an easy quest, I did it when I was level 18 and it doesn't really make a difference, the prowlers are below level 10. And they are located up north. 47, 12

i believe (but not 100% sure) that you can't pick up this quest if you've already completed the quests in the barrens offered by serga darkthorn. so if you did the plainstriders/zevra/prowler/raptor quests already i don't think you can get this quest because it is an indirect prereq for those quests. that's the only thing i can think of as to why i can't get it.

You can find the Flatland Prowlers in the Golden Plains, northeast corner of Mulgore. Also, this quest is the same region as obtaining the Prairie Alpha Wolf teeth for Wildmane Totem quest.

I found the majority of the prowlers just past Thunder bluff
Head towards the lifts but stay on the low levele and wander throught the gap in the hills just past the lifts
They are at the end of the small valley which opens out to reveal an encampent of Venture Mine Co. Just past this is the Wildemane Water Well

Hey your cords are off it's 61, 80 but ya he's in hunter's rise.

Melor Stonehoof can be found at 50,48 in Thunder Bluff. He is on the southern "island", The Hunter Rise.

My drop rate was excellent.. got all 4 at once. Head to Red Rocks where the Bristleback Interlopers are (you get the interlopers quest from Lorekeeper Raintotem; he's at 59, 25 - head there).. the Flatland Prowlers that were there all dropped claws.

This quest is considered an optional preqrequisite to Sergra Darkthorn and therefore you cannot see this quest if you have started that, Plainstrider Menace, or any other part of that quest line. Abandoning Plainstrider Menace quest will make this one available.

If you can't turn this quest to the same guy, you should go to Melor Stonehoof in ThunderBluff (The Hunter's Rise).
