Take this quest along with

Major Malfunction - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=8472
and
Unstable Mana Crystals - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=8463

If you start out on the road at around 44, 45 and follow that north you can pick up the amount of Mana Crystals required for Unstable Mana Crystals and kill the Arcane Patrollers along the way for the Major Malfunction quest. The road will bring you under the bridge and right up too the side door of the house at 45, 38 where Thaelis is located. You will have to kill maybe two Urchins outside, and one inside and then you can pull Thaelis by himself. Turn around and take the same road back the way you came in.

One trip and you should have 3 quests complete.

In the Ruins of Silvermoon, there is a big chapel-type building, he is in there, you may want to take out the enemies around him, or otherwise, you will aggro the other enemies around him.

Follow the northwest road out of Falconwing Square. The dome-topped building on the right is the Commons Hall

Follow the NW road out of Falconwing Square into the ruins area, go to the building to the right of the main road with the dome top. There is a statue of an archer near it. Thaelis is in this building on the main floor. He's a super easy kill! Have fun everyone!

It is not given by the captain, as stated. Rather, there is a clickable notice board to the RIGHT of the entrance to the building; the captain is on the left. There's usually a Novice Ranger reading it.

Found him at the coords 44,36, I have a lvl 8 blood elf rouge and i beat him in less than 10 seconds... not very hard.

This ones easy. I have a lvl 7 Paladin and took him and a Wrecthed Urchin out with only 1/4 health gone.

The coords dont matter, all you need to know is that he's in the first lvl of the biggest building on the East side of the Ruins of Silvermoon. There, plain and simple

I did this as a lvl 6 blood elf paladin and i klled him and another one and only lost a third of my health ITS EASY

Solo'd it as a level 5 Blood Elf Priest. I just Shadow of Word: Pain, Smite until half way down on health and used my lesser heal. I pulled two of the Wretched in the room before I pulled Thaelis and the other two myself.

Kept the top strategy using mana tap and arcane torrent when I got low on Mana, and I was able to get Thaelis and one of the Wretched... the other killed me when I got it to half health because I was out of mana.

no he is a lvl 6

I solo'd him as a level 7 hunter but it took a bit of care. When pulled he came with 2 adds so I took one of them down and then ran until out of combat and healed. Went back and pulled the second add and Thaelis killing the second add, and then ran until out of combat and healed. Finally was able to take Thaelis 1 on 1.

Find this guy at the coords.

GO to the site where he has his front against u, (nearly). pull the add which is to the left, or the one which is in front of thaelis, and the add + Thaelis will come, soloed as lvl 6 rogue.. no problem :D .

Just started a Rogue level 6 and I didn't have to fight anyone but him, although there was a zombie in the room with him, off to the side.

Pretty easy. Coords are good. If you are facing the dead messenger heading back toward the start, it is on the right, just down the hill.

coords 44,37. He's inside gazeebo looking building in Northern Ruins of Silvermoon. A few monbs around him but they are no problem, just lure them out.

I´m a bloodelf Paladin lvl 8.
It seems that I can´t get the quest from the Sergeant Kan'ren.
I haven´t done the quest!
But he has no marks over his head at all and do not give me any quest when I speak to him?

No, i don´t do that kind of work sadly. But i like the site, actually i have made a few more posts with links to that site. It loads fast, but they might not have alot of mob-data yet to give a good picture of droprates on items etc. But im using their plugin while i play. So it should get better someday..
