Posting for those of you who don't have UIs.

The servants of Razelikh are found around the dark portal. Watch out for the Felguard patrol around the portal.

Servants of Allistarj are all found along the eastern wall of the zone, stopping just before Nethergrade Keep.

Servants of Servine are found along the wall north of the entrance to the tainted scar (which is the western wall)

Servants of Grol are the most difficult to find, in my opinion. You can find one in a cave guarded by ogres in the mountain off the path to the tainted scar. Just follow the path until you begin travelling west, then go north and look for a lone mountain, Once you find ogres, you've found the one servant. The other place to find them are Grol's fort, located in the northwest corner of the zone. You'll know you found it because you'll see a tower and a base with horde banners. The servants are in there. To get there, go west along the northern wall from the entrance of the zone.

A note that the servants will NOT die until you smash the crystal, and the stun effect on them wears off after around 30 seconds. If you're having trouble smashing the crystal, remember that you have to stun it (Drop around 85% of it's health) next to the crystal in order to smash it.

For those who want coords, 49.7, 43.8 is where the lone Servant Of Grol is.The dark portal is around 58.8, 51.6. Frydebo provided coords to the other servents, as well as the Grol fort.

I cant destory the crystals no matter what I do. I get them near the crystal, beat them down till I am instructed to attack the crystal but I cant. I get no attack indicator when I pass over it and I cant look/touch/inspect or anything to the crystals. I have the quest so I should have no problems at all doing this. Its become VERY frustrating,

Well guys, I've just finished this quest without any problem...
Only thing that is bad about it is that u have to wait for the respawn of the servants... ...still for these 9, u have to circle around the Portal... so gl :)

Some limited testing leads me to believe that killing the mobs too far away from the stones is what bugs them.

This quest is not bugged, your just not following the instructions. The Important info said by the Fallen Hero is : "You must remain within close proximity of the stones or the process will fail." If you follow these instructions the quest is NOT BUGGED!!!
Oh and the zone to find them in is "Blasted Lands" and all the rest of the info you need is listed in Karaken's post above.
("A note that the servants will NOT die until you smash the crystal, and the stun effect on them wears off after around 30 seconds. If you're having trouble smashing the crystal, remember that you have to stun it (Drop around 85% of it's health) next to the crystal in order to smash it.")

That's link of map where I showed the locations. Don't try to find them inside any building or cave, all servants are outside.

Also once, when a servant's hp dropped to %1 and he become immune to anything, the stone did not become breakable.. That's probably because I pulled him far off the stone so you better keep the servants and the stones close to each other.

*If you are warlock you should take https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=7602 from Impsy in Felwood (41,45). One of the mobs you need to grind to get one of the quest items is near The Dark Portal where you will be headed, to complete this quest also.

I'm doing this with my 62 dwarf warrior, I was right on top of the stone and even though I got the guy (a servant of Razhelikh) way down, I could not damage the stone. Help ......

Respawn time on the mobs seems to be 7-8 mins. You can kill the same one several times if you're too lazy to search. ;)

Here is everything you need to know:

Soloed as a 54 Warlock.

Servants of Grol are level 53-54:

Two at Dreadmaul Hold 43,13(inside gate, outside cave)
Surrounding Mobs are level 46-47.

Enter the gate and attack to the right. The servant on the right side has 3 mobs next to his stone situated in the middle of the catapults on the left. The servant hides in the roots of the large tree past his stone with one mob standing next to him. Proceed around the back to the other side of the cave. The second servant's stone, situated just before the catapults on the left, has 4 mobs next to it. The servant hides next to the large tree past his stone on the right (you can't see him there if you enter the gate and attack to the left) with one mob near him.

One in Dreadmaul Post 49,43
Surrounding mobs are level 55-57.
Over 10 mobs at entrance.

I did as recommended above and waited for a respawn at Dreadmaul Hold rather than try to get in here.

Servants of Sevine are level 56:

Along the path to the Alter of Storms 39,32
Surrounding mobs are level 53-55.
3-5 mobs around the servant at base of path.
1 mob near servant mid-way along path.
1 mob near servant at top of path.

Servants of Alistarj are level 55:

Watch the rovers movement path to determine best place to attack the servant at. Looking at the map, the 3rd servant from the right hand end has rovers that come very near his crystal.

The reward for this quest is better than it might seem; first you get a follow-up where you talk to a person right next to the turn-in - this awards you 3.000 XP. He then gives you another followup where you simply have to open a chest and accept its reward. You then get a green trinket and another 6.000 XP.

Result: 7.550 + 3.000 + 6.000 XP = 16.550 XP. Not bad at all.

The quest is still bugged. I tried to do it just now and while the Grol, Allistarj and Sevine works just fine some of the Razelikh is bugged. When you get their health enough for the "green glow" to appear, you are still not able to use the stone next to some of them. I know for a fact that once I was to far away, but on at least four times on three different Razelikhs I was close enough for it to work. It didn't.

However, on the west side of the portal I found two Razelikhs who wasn't bugged and since they are on a pretty short respawn timer I suggest you stay on that side and finish the quest. By the time I did the other three groups of servants and found these "working" Razelikh it was a bit late and I had to give up after I got 4/9 . I'll grab the remaining five tomorrow. There are a pair of demons patrolling that area on the west side plus a few boars and basilisks, but if you can handle the level 57 Razelikhs, they shouldn't be a problem. Good luck.

It is not bugged. I just tested / am still testing while waiting on them to spawn new mobs.

If you drag them too far from the stone they bug. Just reset the mob by running away or what ever and then come back and kill them tell you can destroy the stone.

This quest is NOT bugged. And as a side note, as an Enhancement shaman, you can pop Shamanistic rage and smack down in the servants when they become immune, and get fullmana without breaking a sweat! Drop a Strength of Earth totem as well, and cast all buffs before you do it, and you'll be all set for another fight when you're done. (The totem increases your attack power = more mana per proc)

Like I wrote earlier, for me it was bugged. And I know for a fact that I was close enough to the stones for it to work, but it didn't. But nevertheless, the quest is still doable. if they bug, simply grab another mob or do like DarkofShadowsong suggest, "reset" them by running away and try again.

10/7/07 Quest seems bugged. Doing it on 64 warlock, easily drain tanked a Servant of Razelikh to 1% health till the Banish/Stun effect occured, while standing right on the stone the whole time. Clicked the stone, it did its thing and disappeared, shortly after the Servant became unbanished/stunned/whatever, but I could not kill it: Immolate, Drain Life, DoTs did nothing to it. No quest credit, so Feared it and ran out of range. Will try a few more times with different types of servants...

Update: just tried a different Servant of Razelikh, exact same way, and it worked, got quest credit for it. Seems some are bugged, some aren't.

the quest is NOT BUGGED!!! I did it, most of my friends did it, no one ever seen a bug.. just stay really close to the stones..

Easy to solo 56 with my fury warrior. Servants of Razelikh are the highest lvl of them, but easiest of all. Not much mobs around like the others.. And patrols are really easy to kil..

All of them took 45 minutes for me.. A trinket, lots of xp, 2 stacks of runeclothes and 3 felclothes dropped.. Also killed 2 rare elites when doing quest, 2 good green items from them..

I've leveled up a lot of 60+s, and every time I did this quest, it was bugged, but doable. Today, I can say that it did not bug for me. I did not test out the theory whether or not being close or far from the stone makes any difference, but just to be safe, I killed the servants of razilikh close to their stones anyway.

On 12/20 I did this quest and all crystal locations except 53/59 location farthest back on the left side of the dark portal of the circle, and the others worked at random times, but this spot never failed to work. I opened a ticket and a GM did indeed say they have been having issues with this quest since patch 2.3. Just bare with them and it will be fixed over time.

At lvl 59 I recieved 10900 xp.

Not too bad of a quest. Coordinates were good. With Allistarj stick to the edges of the high hills.
For Razelikh, not hard to find. Wandering demons are a bit of pain, but i just banished those.
Completed easily as 53 lock.

This quest gives 10900 xp. When you return to the Fallen Hero, he tells you to talk to the other guy next to him, which gives you 4350 xp, then you're given the chest with your reward, which you receive another 8570 xp upon opening.

So, 23820 xp total for doing this quest!

Soloed as a 55 resto shaman camping Servants of Allistarj at (64,41) Servants of Sevine at (38,33) Servants of Grol at (41,13) and Servants of Razelikh at (55,48). Camping took i little longer but greatly reduced my repair cost by 2-4 gold.

The Sevine guys are near the alter of Storm, there are 3 spawn spots for them from what I've seen. The one nearest the fire camp is the hardest to get to, because he is linked to a caster. They are level 57 or so.

The Razelikh guys are near the dark portal. They are all along the upper edge of the cliff. Felguards and hounds wander the area. They are around level 55 or so.

The Grols are in dreadmaul hold outside of the keep but within the gates. They are around 53 or so.

Haven't figured where the last guys are yet, so good luck finding them. Quest reward is a nice one along with the exp bonus.

When you find one of the brownish/purple floating crystals, then you should also see the Mob. Usually there are alot of Shadow-something humans or Ogres around too. Clear out the mobs, then attack the Servant. I usually drag him within melee range of the crystal. Beat on him till he hits 0, he will get all foggy looking, thats when you target the crystal and attack it. you get a counter bar showing progress. When its dead, the Servant dies, and you can loot him.

For anyone still confused after all above:
For alliance characters you pick up this quest from a guy at Nethergarde Keep who tells you to go talk to the Fallen Hero of the Horde. Apparently Horde characters can start directly at the Fallen Hero. The Fallen Hero of the Horde is in Swamp of Sorrows, just before the entrance into Blasted Lands. If you don't know where that is, how the hell did you get to the quest anyhow?
The EASIEST WAY to do this quest is just find the FIRST STONE/FIRST SERVANT on your route to the location, camp that and keep killing it as it respawns. They are on a standard respawn timer, about 5 minutes. If you are bored you can practice skills on other enemies in the area, or log out and back in again. The servants do not pull other npcs to them if you attack, but if other npcs are withing aggro range of you, or spawn within aggro range, they attack you of course. Also, these servants spawn WITHIN RANGE of the stone they are tied to! You SHOULD NOT have to worry about "pulling them to the stone" if you just fight them where they spawn! Just kill other npcs first, that are between them and their stone! The stones DONT GLOW, but they are obvious stones sticking up from the landscape near the servants. Once you kill a servant you have a set time to destroy the stone, about a minute I'd say. If you don't destroy the stone by then, the servant comes back to life and attacks you again and now you must run away...unless you just wanna practice weapon skills on it, because you will never kill it now until you leave. It will interrupt your destroying the stone, and it wont die until the stone is destroyed...so you have to back away and start again. Once you destroy a stone, the servant automatically dies, you dont need to attack it again. Servants and stones are at the approaches to: Altar of Storms, Dreadmaul Hold, Serpent's Coil, and Dark Portal. You don't have to ENTER any of those locations, just approach them and you should find a stone with servants connected...

Im currently working on this quest, and I figured i would offer some advice.
Servant of Razelikh
Level: 57
Check down near the dark portal (54,59 is a good rough location) in blasted lands and work your way around the edge. Wail on the servant till he stops attacking, then the crystal near the servant can be attacked (mouse turns to a gear). The servant must die very close to the crystal for it to work, otherwise you will have to run off and let the servant regen. There are some felguard/felhunter patrols in the general area and tend to wander over just as you are almost done finishing with the crystal. Any herbalists will like the sungrass, gromsblood, and couple other random herbs lying around, the felhunters may also drop felcloth which (depending on your server) could be 2-3g per. The servants aren't too hard to take down, at lvl 53 warlock with voidwalker i could take them, only problem was the resisting (insta-cast corruption is your friend for this).

Servant of Servine
Level:54-56
There is an altar of storms in the upper left corner of the map, roughly 39, 31. You will find some enforcers and warlock creeps there, they are not too difficult to take out, but there are alot of them, work your way from the south up to the altar and you should get the 3 you need. You can get some runecloth off the enforcers, it dropped about every 3rd enforcer. Shadow priests and warlock: the warlock creeps have a high shadow resistance, so warlocks could use CoS. I dont play a shadow priest so I dont know what to recomend.

I noticed a lot of you are reporting this as "bugged"... I have went through the same problem and I have a solution for you.

When you kill the Servant, do it CLOSE to the Stone of Binding. Not love making close. Just a few yards should be fine, and make sure the Servant isn't going to block your cursor from targetting the stone.

I have tried killing servants several times using this method after many attempts that the stones failed to be targettable, and it works every time.

I spent a really long time trying to synthesize all these posts in order to do this quest, so I'm going to try to make it easier on everyone else :)

First off-- the deal with the stones. Every servant that you will find is vaguely near a crystal. You should make sure to kill the servant as close as you can to that crystal, as the near-death of the servant in its immediate vicinity will then "activate" it so you can attack it.

Second-- many of these posts advise killing one servant of each type and waiting for it to respawn. While this is a viable strategy, it's not a very fun one, and it's unnecessary. You might want to wait for one respawn for the sake of convenience, but waiting for two (or eight!) respawns would be very boring.

Third-- this is definitely a soloable quest (and not just because I was so high level!). I have no idea why it's marked group-- the mobs are spread out enough that you should have no trouble soloing.

Servants of Razelikh
(54,59) is OUTSIDE of the dark portal, and OUT of the crater in front of the dark portal. You should find a servant here, and will find many more if you continue in a C-curve around the crater (being careful not to fall into the crater, as it's a pain to get out of). You should have most of the 9 you need by the time you get to the other side of the crater, and second run-through should pick up the slack.

Servants of Grol
There are two servants OUTSIDE of Dreadmaul Hold-- kill your way behind the hold to find them at (41, 13) and (43, 11). The third one is at (49, 43) in the cave at Dreadmaul Post. Since I was ridiculously high level for this quest (59), I had no trouble wiping out the big cluster of ogres around the cave, but if you're lower level, you may want to just wait for a respawn outside of the Hold so you're dealing with lower level ogres and no more than 2 at a time.

Servants of Allistarj
These were the easiest to locate. The first one is at Serpent's Coil at (62, 33), and you basically just work your way south from there. I found a second at (64, 41) and a third at (64, 46).

Servants of Sevine
These were also pretty easy to locate. A previous post mentions that the path up to the Altar of Storms starts around (39, 31), and if you just follow that path up to the altar, you will find at least 3 servants along the way. There is no reason to actually go onto the altar, as there are no servants there.

This is a guide to making it very very easy:

The trick, is to find the easiest one of each type (allistaj, sevine, razelikh, and grol) and just kill that same one the required number of times. Rather than attacking the harder ones. These are the easiest to attack of each group.

Allistaj (64, 41) (the middle one):
If you kill the guys north of the servent first, then use thrown to attrack the thug nearist the stone second, and finally do a thrown at the servent to attract him, you can do this without having to attack any more than 1 person at a time, making it pretty easy. After you kill him, hang out and wait for him to respawn (about 4 mins). Kill him 3 times and you have allistaj done.

Sevine (41,39 ish) (Middle one again)
This guy is the first one you encounter as you actualy start to go up the path. He is not the one by the campfire. He is pretty much by himself, so just kill him, and destroy the stone. Just keep as far away from the path as possible to avoid the patrols and your good. Attack this guy 3 times, and you have this set done.

razelikh (arround the edge of the crater of the portal) (any one)
Pick anyone of these type, they are so easy. if your lvl is high enough to kill them that is. I did as lvl 53. Not to hard. Just do any of these guys. easiest is the one 2nd from furthest clockwise.

grol (Near Dreadmaul area) (the one in the cave)
Easiest for me was the one inside the cave. I stealthed into the cave and took him down, got no agro from the ogres.

NOTE: i did this solo as a lvl 53 NE rogue. Assassination build. Not hard at all for me.

Took me a little while to figure out how this quest works, and I'm sure I couldn't have done it without the help of previous posts here. The quest description is, frankly, deplorable, BUT once you've figured out what you're supposed to do, it's quite easy. (Lvl 56 subtlety rogue)

1) Look for the stones of binding: they sparkle as of Patch 2.3, making them easier to find. They should NOT have gears when you mouse over them (some of them do, not sure why--may be a bug).

2) Every stone will have a mob somewhere nearby called a 'Servant of XXXX' (see quest text for all the different sorts of servants you'll be tracking down). Note that the stones seem to respawn faster than the servants, so if you find a stone without a mob, that's why: the mob just hasn't respawned yet.

3) Attack the servant, and make sure you pull him close to the stone. My approach was to stand by the stone, de-stealth, and if he didn't see me, to shoot him with an arrow. Then I'd go to town on him. (Note that you do NOT need to click on the stone before attacking the servant.)

4) Keep attacking the servant. Once he's near zero health, a bubble will appear around him, and you'll see an emote scroll across your chat window, something along the lines of 'the time to strike is now!' Note that at this point you will still be able to strike the servant, but it's not doing any damage, and the servant has stopped attacking you. NOW the stone should have a gear when you mouse over it: click the stone.

5) Clicking the stone will bring up a short channeling bar. Once you've finished, the stone will blow up, and your character will deal the final blow to the servant, killing him. This gives you credit for releasing him. Note that you will NOT be able to click the stone if the mob gets too far away from it during the fight. Fortunately, none of the servants like to run.

You can of course be interrupted while clicking on the stone if there are other mobs attacking you. This means that you need to take care to clear any pats or nearby mobs before attacking the servant directly. For some of the servants, this is pretty easy; others have quite an entourage. My approach for the well-guarded servants was to sap the servant and kill all his buddies, and then vanish if necessary to drop aggro. (Nothing wrong with going after the servant immediately after you've killed his friends, but I needed time to heal up--I was nervous about trying to take them all at once.) For other classes, creative use of freeze traps, feign death, polymorph, etc, will be necessary.

There's a great map that's already been posted with the screenshots for this quest, one that shows where to find all the different types of servants. It REALLY saved me some time. Note that for the Servants of Grol, the lower spawn spot marked on that map has only one servant (that I found, anyway): he's inside the cave. The others are all up at Dreadmaul Hold but OUTSIDE the structure (circle around back). For the Servants of Raz, take care to clear the patrolling felguards and felhounds: I consistently found that they had longer paths than I anticipated, and they had a knack for aggroing at the most inopportune times. I didn't have a problem finding enough servants to complete the quest, because no one else seems to be doing this quest nowadays.

I think there may still be some bugs with the stone-clicking: one time, I did not immediately get a gear when the servant bubbled up, and had to stand there clicking for awhile before it showed up. For the most part, though, it all went very smoothly.

As for the tactics you'll need in fighting the servants themselves, they're pretty straightforward: all of them are strict hand-to-hand melee damage. No spellcasting, no heals, no ranged dps. The other mobs around them, though, have a few other tricks: a few are ranged, the clothies often cast spells, some can poison you. I never met any that could heal, though, and none will run.

Soloed as a 52 warlock. Servants of Rezelikh were the hardest part for me since they are 57 and still red, but I really didn't have too much trouble. Quest is still red in my log too.

Well, after some thinking time i decided to make it solo. After completeing the 9 Razelikhs i fopund that kiling the other ones was not updated on my quest log, so, after killing a lot, the counter was still to 0.

What could it be?

Once you find a servant of the kind your hunting, you will notice a floating stone nearby, this stone can only be used properly when you have taken down the sevant to less than 100 HP - when that happens, the mob stands as if would be banished for 30 sec aprox.

Which is more than enough time to click the stone.

However this happened to me a couple of times afore i figured it out, if the mob is too far away from the stone when it drops below 100 HP you WONT be able to click the stone and after the banishment the mob is unkillable, you have to reset the mob by moving out of range when that happens.

Always make sure that you kill the mob very near its stone and you wont have any problem at all with this.

Also keep a look out for the dragons, they hit hard as hell and once you get aggro, nothing will save you from their wrath.

Make sure you bring the dudes especially Razelikh. The Razelikh are all around that portal. Reposted cords because far down. Kill near pillar and quest should be alright.

Near a servant there is a small stone usually ontop of a small hill or something, once the Servant enters its "etherial form" thingy you go and use the stone.

This mission seemed bugged for us - killed the servant (got him to zero health anyway) and the stone wouldn't work. The trick was to kill all the ogres first. ALl of them.

There is a lot of confusion about what the stones look like, how to find them, how to free the servants. I just solo'd the whole thing as a level 57 retribution pally, hence no stealth. If I can do it, anybody can, trust me. Here's how:

Stones: I just uploaded a screenshot of a stone behind a Servant of Allistarj, but if it isn't viewable the stone looks like a amall bronze obelisk, and it floats. They all look the same, regardless of which servant.

Servants: They're all invincible unless you have this quest. To free them, you must first whack them until they go into a kind of stasis mode. They appear to be stunned and fade out, though once I noticed a servant didn't fade out. They become stunned for a short time when you knock their health down to near nada. While they're stunned, go after the stone.

Destroying the stones: While the servant is stunned, roll over the stone until you see the gold wheel, then right-click on it. If you don't see the wheel re-position yourself and continue to roll-over, with a clear view of the stone. Eventually you'll see the wheel. Hopefully the servent won't have revived by then. Once you activate the wheel, the stone will countdown to self-destruct and the servent will be freed. You'll whack him once more then loot him. The loot sucks but the xp is ok.

The good thing is, you can camp a stone site and get your quota without even hitting the other servant locations. This is huge. Servants rez within a few minutes, as noted below. Stones re-appear first, then the Servant.

Servant of Sevine: See mob link above. As you approach the bottom of the hill where the first servant is, across from the Dreadmaul Ogre Servant of Gol, there is a Servant of Sevine surrounded by mobs. Ignore him. Sneak up the road that crosses in front of him. Best if approached from the north. You only have to knock out 2 or 3 mobs to get to the next Servant, who's on the south side of the road with his stone. Watch for foot patrols, but they're infrequent. This Servant made my quota of 3. The Servant at the bottom of the hill and the one at the top of the road, inside a weird compound, are too well guarded. The one I described is virtually alone.

Servant of Grol: This was the hardest Servant because he's so densely guarded. BUT, slip into his cave from the south side, across from the first Servant of Sevine. You have to knock off about 3 or 4 ogres to get to the mouth of the cave, then sidle along the side of the opening into the cave. Deal with one guard at the door and the Servant. Kill the guard first but be careful not to aggro any more around the mouth of the cave. Draw the Servant inside and stay there. Free him three times. He's the only Servant of Grol, it takes about 4 minutes for him and his stone to rez, the stone first. No ogres enter the cave, so you have plenty of time to prepare for each of his rezzes. The only Servant of Grol I found was in a cave across the road from the Servant of Razelikh location I describe below. Also facing the Servant of Sevine. You will NOT find a Servant of Grol in the ogre compound due west of the keep. What you will find there is Grol himself, a 58 demon elite.

Servant of Razelikh: This was actually the easiest, though they and their guards are the highest levels. The trick is, go to the south-most edge of the Dark Portal crater, avoiding demon patrol pairs. Once against the mountain you can't go farther south, but you can climb up above the Servants. There are two of them between the crater and the road into the next (highly nasty) region. Alternate between them, staying on the mountainside above them, until you get quota of 3. Hit the demon patrols for xp if you want, but the loot isn't great.

Servant of Allistarj: Just clear the mobs around the Servant, you don't have to kill them all. Engage the Servant as described above, x9. I used the Servant location just below the keep, slightly to the southeast. The elite you need to kill for a follow-up quest is also inside the cave at this location, but to get the Servant you don't need to go into the cave. In fact, DON'T, is my advice.

Approached Servants of Sevine just now, and there's no stone visible anywhere around, even at a distance. I looked for the 'glow,' I tried doing a cursor sweep for clickable items, nada.

I'm thinking that at least on the Eredar server, this is bugged. There is nothing there, and the guy just stands there semi-tangible and unmoving for several minutes while I can try whacking at him or looking for whatever stone is there.

If there ARE any stones around, could someone who has successfully destroyed them at least offer a screenshot or better description of what one looks like so we'll actually know if it's there to be seen in the first place? Is it green, blue, glowing or dull, is it usually found just above the ground, hover over their shoulders, what? Would help if I knew what to look for in order to be able to judge if I saw anything like it there.

I started this quest at around 53. But when I got the warrior helm I kinda put it aside until 58. The quest was still yellow for me at 58. The mobs were way easier to handle by then even with the occasional misjudged adds that got me running. Over all xp at my level ended up being 16550 plus the trinket which is a keepsake. I would recommend doing this at 53 with a friend and 54 solo. Whoever does this earlier is smoking!

The Dark Portal is 55 53 (Razelikh Servants.) Ogres are at 48 43, need to keep them cleared and there is a Grol servant in cave. (Only 1, respawn is about 4 minutes or so.) Servants of Sevine are at 40 40 or a bit SW of that at 45 45 (Did not check that one, sorry.) Servant of Allistarj is at 64 33, on the right side of cave enterance. Again, only one, just keep them clerard and will respawn every 4 to 5 minutes. There are 2 quick follow up quests that take less than 60 seconds (Heroes of old) and give you an additional 9K (at 58) and a trinket that is plus 5 mana and health regen. (Shard of Afrasa)Shard of the Splithooves soloed this one at 58, it was fun and very worthwhile. Ogres are quick respawn but there was someone else farming there while I did my part so it was easy. The patrols in Dark Portal area are a pain, I had to sacriface my Voidwalker twice while there. Good Luck!

The realikh servant have to be close to the crystals to break to the crystal i found it was for me if your having trouble to break them then try getting them closer to the crystals hope this help

You don't attack the stones, you right click them to destroy it. I did the same thing but figured it out. The quest is working. I just finished the 9 around Outland portal 2/21/07

The stones are little, black obilesk looking things located near the servants. You have to have the quest from the Hero of the Horde before you can defeat them though, otherwise you can not click on the stone to destroy the servant.

Also, you don't have to kill every servent at each location. You can camp one location and kill on respawn to add to your count. Some of the spawns are easier to get to than others, or have less mobs around them.

For me a level 59 hunter, this quest chain gave me 16550 XP. 7550 for the quest, 3000 to turn around and talk to the guy behind me, and 6000 for opening a chest at his feet.

The Servants of Razelikh are on the crest of the crater around the Dark Portal and are by far the fastest to get completed. Just watch out for the numerous and quickly respawning patrols.

Servant of Grol is in the cave where the Ogres are. The stone is all the way in the far back in the cave. The ogres respawn moderately quickly.

Servant of Sevine are west of the Ogre cave where you find the Servant of Grol. They're in a camp of other humanoids and there's an occasional silver elite that comes through the area too, so be careful.

Servant of Allistarj is in the Serpent's Coil area, on the far east side of the valley/ravine, near a cave. There are a lot of other humanoids in the area.

I just completed this quest line at lvl 60 <3 bubs from 61> and I received 7550 xp for first part, 3000 xp for second part and 6000 xp for final part...not bad at all :)

The good part was the servants re-pop so if you are having difficulty finding any of them you can wait and kill one 3 times for the one part.

16,550 XP and the shard all for 1 hour of messing around? Hell yeah, I'll take it! I soloed this one on my lvl 54 Warrior with next to no problems. Hardest part was Servants of Grol. I only found one spawn of Grol and it was in that cave PACKED with ogres. The ogres have a quick respawn, so I just sat in the back of the cave and waited. Grol's servants have a 5 min RS, so most of my time was spent waiting. Advice for this quest is try and DPS the target to 20% hp all the while leading it back towards the stone near it. Kiting isn't a good idea unless your high enough level to not aggro all the mobs and patrols that surround these minibosses. With the exception of Grol, all the servants are in threes or fours, not together, but spread a short distance from each other. I was kinda scared of 9 Servants of Razelikh, but with 4 servants in a row along the Dark Portal crater's rim, its not an issue at all, because by the time you kill all four, the first one will be RSing. This grind also yielded me 4 greens, 2 Imperfect Draenethyst Fragments, AND, lucky me :-), 3rd to last mob kill gave up a Flawless Draenethyst Sphere! I still have to turn this in... but I think I earned it. For every servant I killed I think I killed about 15-20 regular mobs. And at roughly 6s - 12s per servant, plus regular mobs a made a decent amount of gravy! Best quest chain (almost too short for a chain) I've had in a LONG time!

This quest slipped me by and only remembered to do it at Level 59(Hunter). Was fine for me.

The way people put it that you have to be really close to the stones, thats not true, I had them 5m to 10m away and it was fine.

All stones are attackable, highest mob you'll face here is the level 57 servants near the Dark Portal.

When I did this quest, at 55, the only thing that was difficult for me was finding the actual servants. The thing is, you have to "kill" the servants very close to the stones or else it won't work.

Servants of Razelikh: Around the Dark Portal crater

Servants of Grol: 1 is in the Ogre cave near middle of zone, 2 are next to the Ogre building in the NW corner of zone (1 on each side of building)

Servants of Sevine: There are 2 or more servants all south of the Serpent's Coil cave along the mountain side.

Loads of XP and a decent trinket for this quest and the two very quick quests that follow it.

I found these guys to be the easiest kills...there is a small hill at 50.7, 58.6 where both stones and servants res...just pick them off one at a time.

I also thought that some of the Razelikh stones were broken, but it turns out that if you drag the servants too far from the stones, then when you make them vulnerable, the stones don't change properly to make a cog appear. If you kill them close to their stones, the cog appears as it should do. Hope that helps some people.

Guess it's time for a first post... I was impressed by the XP people reported here, but since patch 2.3, it must have gone up even further. With my 53 hunter, I totaled 24,000 XP between this and the following two quests (which are basically run-across-the-street-and-talk-to-my-friend-here deals). I could do worse with other quests.

For the hour I took to pull, kill and wait for respawns, this is a much more entertaining quest than the countless animal part ones some NPCs foisted upon me while I was in the area.

Am currently doing this with my 58 hunter. It's easy - but - make sure you get the first hit on the servant before sending the pet in or you can't take out the binding stone. Otherwise? Easy peasy.

You attack the servent and when his health gets down, less than 100, you can attack the stone, your mouse turns to a wheel and you click on it.

First time I did it, I couldn't find the stone, helps to locate it before attacking. Also, I had one servent that was far away from the stone and once I got him down to 100 and ran to the stone I was unable to click on it, had to sprint away. Every other time worked as long as the servent was close to the stone when he dropped to less than 100 HP.

The hardest part is the Razelikh servents, Lvl 57. One was no problem, but multiple in a row was a pain, waiting on cool downs for blade fury, blind, evasion etc. Patrolling demons and high level allies going to the portal did not help either.

Turn the quest in to the Fallen Hero, on the road back to SoS. 16500 XP. Nice.

There are 3 servants of Grol that you can kill, so you don't need to just watch the one for respawn. The other two are in the FAR northwest of the zone, just outside of the ogre hold.

You have to kill the servants close to the stones otherwise you won't be allowed to click on it. The servants become incapacitated once they are near 1% HP and you have about a minute before the effect is gone.
Any attacks on you will interrupt the process of breaking the stones so make sure to clear any patrols coming for the stones.

Quest "The Stones That Bind Us" servants of grol is bugged again either side of the building "Dreadmaul Hold" should be a stone. Stone is missing I cannot complete the quest, the relevant character :-the servant of grol is there but is unkillable because of the missing stone. I read in wowhead that this is a common problem ages ago 2007/04/11 (Patch 2.0.12). Co ords 49.7, 43.8

This quest seemed rather confusing to me at first. What you need to do:

1. Kill the named mobs in close proximity to a stone of binding.
2. When the mobs reach low hp they will become immune to damage.
3. Click the stone of binding. The mob will die.

Repeat until you complete the quest. May have to wait for some respawns. On a positive note the respawns seem quite fast. The stones will not be clickable until you have a mob at low health close to it.

Important note: you can only kill ONE mob per stone of binding.

To finish this quest, you must first locate the Stone of Binding, which will be nearby any servant, but will not be interactable right away, which means that there will be neither mouseover prompt nor highlighting. Given this and overall color resemblance of these objects and Blasted Lands' landscape, this could be proven difficult, but it is crucial to this quest.
After the stone located, you must attack a servant while keeping them around the stone, but you won't be able to kill it yourself: their health will stop draining after around 10% and they will be stunned for about 30 seconds. At this moment Stone of Binding will become interactable, and you'll need to smash it via pressing RMB as hard as possible, this will help you as it helped me.
If you fail to do this in time after engaging and stunning a servant, you'll make yourself an invincible enemy since the stun is off but the inv is still on. Also, cleaning but not looting other mobs that are usually party loitering around can help a lot, too.

The Stones of Bindings take around 4-5 minutes to 'respawn' once used, with about an extra minute spent waiting for a Servant of Grol.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO SUCCESSFULLY FREEING A SERVANT.

1) Find a Servant.
2) Find a small black floating crystal nearby (aprox. 20-40 yards from the Servant).
3) Kill all trash mobs close to the crystal (you don't want them to attack you later as they would interrupt your step 7).
4) Engage the Servant.
5) Pull Servant close (aprox. 2 yards) to the crystal.
6) Damage the Servant until he "bubbles" himself (around 1% HP).
7) Right-click the crystal a wait until you finish destroying it.
8) Profit.
