The dog will go to several places but only one of them is the real one that you need for the quest. Don't worry if there are more people doing it at the same time, all of them can loot the quest item without even being in the same group.

I ninja'd the quest item from the guy who started the quest, and he wasn't able to loot the quest item. So these people who say more than one person can loot it may or may not be correct. You might have to be in the same group or something, but I had to go by the mats again so the other guy could do the quest.

It seems that for some reason the dog will randomly start itself at times. Last night my partner and I were standing next to Fei Fei and neither one of us had a treat and he randomly started with no one else doing the quest. We were both able to loot the mounds and were done in 15 seconds.

I was looking for Fei-Fei, saw it walking, it made a mound, it dissapeared, it kept walking, made another mound, I clicked it and there were the beads.

I think after someone had gotten theirs the dog keeps going, so I didnt have to buy the treat

This quest has been fixed in the lastest patch to have the beads drop more often. After you get your beads the dog will keep digging but you can no longer click the piles

Still one of the stupidest quests in the expansion, and I have done many while leveling to 70

to get the bone you feed to the dog so he search the place up for you is one silken thread can be bought on the left side outside of the inn house. The maiden's anguish can be bought from a reagent vendor which you can find in the tower in honor hold.
then just give the mats to warrant officer to a exchange for a bone. Then feed the dog thats right next to her! Worth the money reward you get and xp take 1 - 2 min!

The other comments suggest the spot is random. Though the dog does go to several random spots, the end is always (54,63) - behind the inn.

Just today did this quest (17th January 2k8), it's no longer needed a "Sparkling Zircon" gem.
To buy Fei Fei Threat I needed just:
- Maiden's Anguish (9s 50c)
- Silken Threat (4s 75c)

Fei Fei won't go to a random place. Mound spawns at 58,56 (on my coords - TitanPanel), just behind the Inn.

You can get the prayer beads right after feeding the dog. Don't waste time following him around. The quest item is outside the inn, in the corner closest to the stables.

Today April 06, 2008, I got the beads after speaking to the warrent officer. I didn't not find the dog or feed the dog, I just went around back of the inn and retrieved the beads from the "sparkling" mound at 54.1 63.3

To do this quest you need the poison, which can be bought from the reagent vendor in the tower on the bottom floor, the gem which can be bought in the inn from the gem vendor on the bottom floor for 2g, and the silken thread which can be found on the top floor in the inn.

Go to the commander that gave you the quest, get the snack for her dog, and he will start digging on various places for the quest item, and will eventually find it.

As a sidenote, the next quest in this line is located in the next room of the inn, there's no dot that tells you this though. Talk to the healer and he'll start a cool ritual :) Help him to "kill" the demons by using the neckalce.

THIS QUEST HAS A CONTINUE...
For doing this you'll need three items to finish this quest, all available from vendors in Honor Hold.

1) Sparkling Zircon (2g from gem vendor at the inn)
2) Silken Thread (5s from Master Tailor upstairs at the inn)
3) Maiden's Anguish (10s from reagent vendor in the tower)

Then go and talk to Tracy Proudwell in the Honor Hold courtyard (a few paces outside of the inn) and buy a treat for the dog, fei fei.
then follow the dog he will make a lot of dig and u can loot a dranei prayer bids...

The dog doesn't go anywhere if nobody gives him a treat. If you caught him roaming it's because someone else paid the dog with a treat already, otherwise he just hangs out next to his owner.

After obtaining this quest, I happen to be outside next to the Gryphon master. Next to her, was a clickable mound of dirt. Not knowing what it was for, I clicked on it and it was the beads. I hadn't even read the quest yet. Turned them in and that was it. Never had to get the dog.

I've done this quest 5 times now and the last pile hasn't spawned once. Submitted a ticket to a GM, was told it was confirmed that the quest is "not working properly in a consistent manner." 10g 75s 50c down the drain so far, and the GM told me there was nothing he could do to refund me any of the mats or money I spent. Quite ticked as I'd like to continue the chain with allof my friends who have managed to get it successfully everytime.

Nobody was doing this quest so I had to buy the stuff, first mound the dog dug up, behind the blacksmith, was able to loot right there to get my beads.. followed her for maybe 15 seconds

If you see some cheapskate standing around the dog as if they are waiting for someone else to pay for his treat, you should try to get them to split the cost of the treat with you. It's only fair. At this level, if someone has to break the piggy bank to get 2g, something is wrong.

Unless somebody recently done the quest the mound won't be up at 54,63. As of patch 2.1.2 you only have to spend 15s on maidens Anguish(10s) and Silken Thread(5s). The Sparkling Zircon is no longer a required item to buy the treat.Just did the quest as a 59 rogue and got 4850 XP and Honor Hold Rep 75.

this quest is retarded, had to try it 5 times...
Other people stole the treat 3 times, and it was bugged 2 times.
Blizzard should fix this bug and should make it impossible for others to steal the loot :(

all i did was hearth it back to the inn (as i needed food for my pet),
i notcied fei fei had buried his treat, went and found the pile
looted it..
and there was the beads...

i didnt need to buy anything..

Tried looking around for the dirtpile, but it wasn't there, so i had to get the mats for the treat (buy it from Tracy: 56,62). Maiden's thing you get from the tower and silken thread from behind the inn. Buy the treat, feed dog, follow dog ( or wait at 54,63)and Bob's your uncle :-)

Shouldn't really deprive folks of following the dog around.
Take the following mats to Warrant Officer Tracy Proudwell at 56,63:

2) Silken Thread (5s from Master Tailor Hama upstairs at the inn)
3) Maiden's Anguish (10s from reagent vendor Magus Zabraxis
in the tower at 54,66)

Click on her info option beginning "I heard that your dog ..."
Click on the next option and buy the dog treat.
If Fel Fel the hound is not next to her, someone else is following him around and you'll just have to wait. Eventually he'll be there with a blue question mark and you can give him the treat.

One of the things that this quest is designed to do is to make you aware of the Items that she sells for Marks of Honor Hold !

The dog eventually ends up wandering along the north side of the Inn by the stables and you turn left at the corner and there is a light gray patch in the corner. Walah - Prayer Beads. Enjoy !

Hey, you all forgot to mention that ol Fei Fei can be runing from place to place uncovering a number of "dud" mounds of earth until she finally uncovers the actuall one - in my case this was the one behind the stables, in the corner of the Inn . . . you can tell it's the "actuall" mound 'cos it's light grey as opposed to dark brown in colour . . .

I had to get the stupid treat - the spot wasn't there for me. After I followed him around and he dug up the dirt pile and I got the beads - the spot stayed. Maybe it stays awhile after someone does it? I dont know.

I did this late at night when not many people were around since others had trouble. Fei fei buried the treat on the sixth mound. I waited while she did her dirty deed, then searched the mound and got the beads.

PS. i NEVER bought a doggy treat. i just read this post, went to where yall were saying, and what do ya know, there is the dirt pile with the beads. this is just a very simple quest of go here pick this up, bring it back.

I gathered the items and got the dog treat, but when it went to the "stash" all I got was a lvl 3 grey belt. I went back to try and do it again, but the dog isn't there anymore. The dog had a blue question mark, meaning you can do it more than once, but still no luck.

Thanks guys. After reading the posts here I decided I didn't need to spend the money, saving for epic mount you know, so went looking for Fei Fei's beads. Found a little mound at 54,63 behind the inn in a corner next to the stables. Easy and cheap XP.

I had the dog treat and I, along with several other people, were following around another person who was doing the quest...

I never looted any piles before the last one, and after the person looted the last pile she started to gripe out everyone following her around looting her piles... and after she ran off the last pile was still there so I looted it and got the beads.

I felt bad because I thought I stole the beads from her and I quickly whispered her and apologized... she replied back asking why I was upset and I told her I looted the last pile and got the beads and I was afraid that I stole them from her... I then offered her my dog treat.

She replied back saying she got the beads too and to not worry about it.

I was only following her around to watch the dog and to see where he went, and also to see when her quest was done so I could start mine. The only reason that I ever looted the last pile was because everyone else turned and ran away.

Also, before me getting the dog treat I never saw the last pile... only the others, so I am curious if only the person with a dog treat (or use to have one) can see and loot the last pile.

I heard that in order to get the beads is to NOT loot any piles until the last one, so if you let all of the leeches loot those and wait til the end you might still get the beads.

In order to finish this, you need to talk to the Warrant Officer. After the dialog You're given the option to buy a "Fei Fei Doggy Treat" for:
Sparkling Zircon 2g- Gem vendor in the Inn
Maiden's Anguish 10s- Grand Master Alchemist or Reagent vendor in the tower.
Silken Thread 5s-Upstairs in the inn from the Grand Master Tailor

You feed the dog, it goes to a random place and a mound appears, allowing you to click it and retrieve the beads.

I did the quest a few times, didnt get the beads. But today i went back there just to see, and found a brown mound, just like the other ones. It was labeled " Fei Fei's Cache" and it held the beads.

I tried this quest several times, but the prayer beads never dropped. I talked with a GM and was informed that certain addons may interfere with it. So I abandoned quest (again), exited all the way out of WOW, logged back in, disabled all addons at character screen, retook the quest and I got the beads on the first pile.

So if you can't get the beads to drop, you may want to give this a try. The gm actually wanted me to do a complete reset, i.e. delete wtf, cahce etc, so I am thankful this worked.

Just like other posters said you don't have to buy a treat for him. I saw someone do that and then follow Fei Fei to get the beads. Then the dog just walks around the yard burying beads all over. Just picked them up easy.

Not sure about addons, but disabled them all, abandoned quest, exited, logged back, traded Tracy for treat (zircon, thread and Maidens Anguish, gave treat to dog, followed and looted 1st pile... got beads.

Not sure if this was changed with 2.1, but the mound was not there until I had given Fei Fei the treat.

Each of the "unsatisfied" spots, along with the final spot by the inn spawned during the digging sequence, so you may have to shill out the 2G to finish this quest.

as of January 1, 2008, I was able to simply go behind the inn and get the prayer beads from the mound there.

This is, for the record, the most retarded quest Blizzard has ever concocted for the alliance. You can't just -buy- a treat, no. You have to run around, find vendors that sell the items the damn woman wants, _then_ go back and buy the treat. Good lord.

Don't dig up the second to last pile! Or in other words, only dig through the pile that fei fei decides he is happy with.

I had to try three times, and then it finally worked for me. 4 gold down the drain...

Don't loot any of the mounds he digs up until the very last. It'll say he buries his treat and then loot that mound.

Not only that but more than one person can loot the last mound successfully.

Confirmed that you can just look around Honor Hold (inside the walls) and find the little pile of dirt, wihtout buying anything. i found mine behind the inn. Just a small circle of light brown dirt. I got 4850 xp for the quest, as a lvl 59. Ez Xp

On TBC Classic Beta, the dirt pile is not always present. Instead it despawns shortly after Fei Fei "finds" it.

This means that if no one has escorted Fei Fei recently, you may have to.

To complete this quest you need to recover the Draenei Prayer Beads and bring them to Assistant Klatu.

Make your way out of the tavern and turn to the left. Now move along the tavern, pass by mount stables and multiple alliance npc.
After next turn when you run into a small area between the tavern walls you should search the pile of soil - Fei Fei's Cache. Click to it to obtain the beads.

I am ashamed to admit that my prayer beads were lost in Honor Hold's courtyard. I believe the dog Fei Fei stole them and buried them, but I do not know where. If you speak with his master, Warrant Officer Tracy Proudwell, perhaps she will know where Fei Fei hides his stolen treasures.
