This is an agonizing decision to make. Anyone have an idea of the proc rate to get a free item, and if you can get more than one?

From what I've read about the elixir mastery, that one procs a lot and even saw it proc 4 elixirs in one craft. So far I've heard absolutely nothing about the transmute proc rate.

I've transmuted Primal Might 3 times, getting 2 twice and 1 once. I've a skyfire diamond and got 2 skyfire diamonds from one mute.

Okay guys, I need some help figuring out what I should be a master in. I mean..it sounds like trasmuting would be an awesome thing to do perhaps for making money and then I think..well I really wont need that because I heard its really easy to make money in the outlands..Then I was thinking...well then I'll do elixers! I mean that would be sweet to have an awesome buff when I'm doing a hard raid for example but those are expensive to make..then I was thinking about mastering potions and I don't really know that advantage of that so will someone please help me make this agonizing decesion and put some more info up!! Thanks ^^

Btw i did the transmutation quest chain, got the transmutation icon in my spellbook so it should work i think. But i've done five transmutations (all primal might) and still no proc. Is it just bad luck or am i doing something wrong :S

nvm, in the other thread at https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10899 it seems that this low procrate is quite normal :(

Hi i'd like an update from Beaker when he get to a hundred transmutes. to see the yield rate and compare it to mine after the same ammount of tries.

BTW i was thinking of the Q to get the mastery. it's like 500g to complete it cuz the mats cost right?

As of patch 2.1.0, when you Unlearn another mastery to take up Transmutation Mastery you do not need to do the quest. By that, you save the 4 Primal Might's you would need to get. Furthermore, all you need to do is go talk with Zarehi (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=22427). Not like above comments about Thrallmar.

I'm saying this, based on my own experience, from today 2nd of May 2007. I've been Elixir master for 3 months, but today I wanted to go Transmutation Mastery. I dropped my Elixir Mastery at the Alchemy Trainer in Shattrath, gathered the 4 Primal Mights, and went to Thrallmar to gain the first step (this), but there was no quest. Then I went to Zarehi (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=22427) in Netherstorm, and for my surprise I was able to gain the mastery without doing anything but clicking a button. So I saved my 4 Primal Mights, and can now use for incoming Spellstrike :D

would some one be able to tell if transmute mastery works with the transmute diamonds? i believe it dose but want to check befor i go 4 it... i have another toon doing JC and think the combo of the 2 would be great:P

If you have any other quests to get any other masteries, you will not be able to get this one. Just abandon the other quests, and you should be able to pick it up.

No. The requisite level for all three mastery quests is 68, 70 is just the suggested level. However, finishing the potion and elixirs is extremely hard to do before 70, for one, you need an item from tempest keep which can only be reached by flying mount (hence 70 for anyone besides druids) and for the other yuou need rare drops from CoT: Durnholde. Transmutations is the only one easilly doable before before 70.

Is the level required level 70... I know it says 70 so this is probably stupid but on thott it says 70 then it says requires level 91... :| Obviously you can't be 91.

Anyhow, i wanted to know if i could cheat a little and have someone escort/summon me there and i do it... I have 326 Alch so far so not sure if thats high enough anyhow...

Anyone know?

Has anyone noticed a change in the procs? I used to get anywhere from 1-5 on a transmute. Now the most I have seen is 2. Did i miss the memo somewhere?

silly question? - i have heard that once u have chosen a mastery (i chose elixirs because it was just easier) - you can later go speak to the individual who gives the mastery quest and pay 500 Gold to change it. so in my case i would go talk to Zarevhi at the Stormspire and change my alchemy mastery to transmutation. Is this true? does anyone know?

My knowledge of alchemy is vast. It is, however, general in nature. If you wish to specialize, you will have to find others who have narrower fields of study.

If you wish to specialize in transmutation, I would recommend that you seek the help of the ethereal known as Zarevhi. He resides in the Stormspire in Netherstorm.

His mastery of transmutation is... well, outlandish! See what you can learn from him, but beware - ethereals drive a hard bargain.
