The first mask(https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=31366) you get has a 30m duration after which it is removed from your inventory. You need to use the mask once to get this quest and again to turn it in, so don't destroy the mask and be wary of the timer so you finish in time to use it again. I haven't been able to get the quest again to finish this since i destroyed the mask before using it to turn in this quest.

Dont know whats the problem, i got a new mask... i Did the Quest then logged out. the second day (today) i didnt have the mask in my inventory... so i talked to wildlord antelarion and he gave me a new one ^^;;

Wildlord Antelarion finally gave me a new mask, but! The Legion Communicator still won't give me my quest back...

Just talked with a GM yesterday as he stated he can't change any questflags on the character ig but he said that the quest is a bit sucky if there are too much ppl on the spot so you don't get your kills in the 20m span. as far as he knew the devs are working on a better quest restart possibility.

i'm gonna try it once more today and write another ticket if i don't get it :D

If the mask get destroyed, simply talk to Wildlord Antelarion and you ask him if he can give you another one. Which he will.

Comfirmed:

If you loose your mask in any way, Wildlord Antelarion (the questgiver from the previous quest) will give you his duplicate. If you can't talk to the Legion Communicator, just reequip Mystery Mask and you'll be able to do it again.

Mind though, I don't think you can get any more Mystery Masks after you've used the duplicate.

You can get more than two Mystery masks. I have gotten 4 so far.

Make sure you equip the mask while you're inside of the camp. If you don't, you will not get the buff and thus be unable to use the communicator.

3. Use Device.
4. Equip regular Helm.
5. Kill 8 Mobs.
6. Equip Gas Mask again.
7. Use Device (Quest completes, go to next link in chain)

Talk to Wildlord Antelarion (the centaur look-a-like NPS) in Ruuan Weald at 61,39. You can get another mask and complete the quest.

I've finished the quest without delivering It yesterday and when I went again to deliver It I hadn't the Mask!

Can I recover the mask?

I talked to <GM>Grandenin about the gas mask issue, he said, "I have done further research on this matter. Once the gas mask has expired you are unable to get another one. We are currently looking into that issue".

Quest is broken. NPC did not have anything for me when I returned. Tried to delete quest and mask and now the quest is unavailable. What a waste of time.

the Communicator is near left side of Camp entrance at 73, 40, between 2 green crystals.

So as not to incur anyone's wrath, here's what I think: if a quest works without any glitches, it's not bugged.

Here's what I know: I did the "Felsworn Gas Mask" quest as recommended, e.g., took out the guards at the entrance, cleared the area around the communicator, donned the mask, used the device and received this quest ("Deceive thy Enemy") without any problems (I left the mask on after using the communicator the first time).

While fighting a Doomforge Engineer during this quest, I got knocked off the cliff at the back and landed on a protrusion. I had to hearth out and fly back; in the process, my original mask expired and I put my helm back on. When I arrived back at Evergrove, I spoke to Wildlord Antelarion, and he gave me another mask (I did not have to drop any quests).

I returned to Forge Camp: Anger, killed the remaining Attendants and Engineers needed to complete, returned to the device, put the (new) mask on, communicated, and received the quest "You're Fired!".

So, on this date, for me, NO BUGS were evident in this chain (at least thus far).

When you get done killing 4 of each. put that mask back on and go back to hat communicator thing to complete the quest. It will then give u a follow up quest.

does anybody know what to do when the 30 min timer on the gas masks ends before completing this quest? i can't use the legion communicator anyore and so i don't get the next step of this quest...

i did the quest. i mean i killed the mobs and destroyed the mask before that because i didn't know i'd need it anymore. so i went to get a new one and put it on. then i went back to the communicator but it didn't work :( then i unwored the mask and wored it again. then it worked. i hope this helps you in some way

Guys return to Wildlord Antelarion in Evergrove and chat with him, he gives you another copy of the mask incase you are off the time limit.

I even had deleted the quest and deleted the depleted in time mask. and i got it. hope it works now .

This quest is still bugged just to let you know. I just tried finsihing it and I died and well when I died the mask disappeared but was still in my inventory. When I tried to put it back on it wouldn't let me. And than I couldnt' turn it in once I finished killing the guys. Maybe eventually Blizzard will get around to fixing it. Prolly not though until the next expansion comes out which of course by then it will be totally useless to anyone.

Same story ive finished first part used communicator killed mobs and bah mask disappeared and now i cant finish quest. First part is finished so i cant do it again and get new mask

Not knowing I still needed to wear the mask the entire time I killed the 8 mobs, I switched to my normal helmet. Afterwards, I was unable to equip the 'Mystery Mask' and complete the quest. I also tried talking to Anteralion and he would not give me another.

i go at all npc from were i get the q or the mobs that are near i look on 3 diferent web pages no sign of the npc wich i complete :|

I completed this quest with no problems, as a 66 lock.
Put on mask, got into camp by way of killing the two left guards of four. The communicator is just on the left of the entrance at 73/39, kill the surrounding mobs and use communicator.

Kill the eight mobs of the new quest (this one) and then re-use the communicator to complete and get the follow up quest "Youre Fired"
