Be sure to kill a few Searing Elementals (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=20514) that are in the area while doing this quest. They drop Mote of Fire at a rather decent rate that sell very well on AH or you can bank them for future enchants, etc...

Easiest quest when ur a hunter (or lock)and got a good pet (minion) just send ur pet at one and do a heal to it then u attack one then after u finish ur combat u got 2 down and just keep repeating that and u eventually are done in about 6-8minutes

Personally, absolutely hated this quest as a rogue. The searing elementals have annoying wandering patrol paths and even the imps can be clustered too tightly. I was a total slave to the random movements of mobs in terms of getting one of them alone, cuz of course we could never let sap work on anything but humanoids. And these guys do a LOT of damage so you definitely don't want to be fighting 2 or three; I got burned down FAST. Watch out for searing elementals that are hiding in the flamey areas. Oh yeah also the location bug came up now and then where the imp would be slightly off from where it appeared to be, making it difficult to stun/kick them as they were casting.

This has got to be a bug.. these Searing Elementals will continue to chase you FOREVER unless you kill them. Dropping aggro and going out of combat doesn't do anything either, they still chase you even though they don't even have you targeted! wth!

The aggro radii of the MOBs there...well, Ill just say that I am almost certain that I was pulling random things, even when I was sitting outside that area ,fare from even being able to see them, one surely came up to me as if it was looking fo rme and me alone.

I don't know, it couldn't have been easier. Took 8 maybe 10 minutes, never died. Made a quick 20g. Pet died once.

Maybe they fixed it before I got to it.

The aggro still seems intense, but I was just careful.

Then again I had the advantage of knowing what to expect by reading other accounts here first.

I don't know why everyone had a problem with this, aggro/respawns aren't any worse than normal and Imps drop fastest of anything there. DON'T worry about Fire Protection, the Elementals aren't as tough - and don't hit near as hard - as I expected after reading these posts. Do this quest along with "From the Ashes" - it took me about 10 minutes to get the Imps, finding mounds and planting seeds took more time. Neither me nor pet ever came close to dying, though I did run a bit low on Mana once (forgot to take a drink between fights). But watch out for the Basilisks!

ya watch your aggro, but the coords are right, found all 8 imps around there scattered in with alot of searing elementals, so make sure to clear around and not sneak in, youll surely die otherwise.

i also did "from the ashes" at the same time.

Im glad im finnished with that crappy quest....there was this Dreanei HOE! seeking for attention putting dots on me with her gay ass human boyfriend...
I think....she was same like the girl(freak) that got laid for 5000 wow gold...

This place has one of the more interesting and annoying spawn and patrol patterns I've seen. Just entering, I found myself killing mob after mob, and getting attacked quickly enough that I was only able get halfway through a bandaging before another monster would spawn right next to me.

Fire resistance is a good thing here, though the imps do the most dmg with their ranged attacks it seems. I didn't have any trouble with the elementals... I just pulled them. Well, other than the respawns. The basilisks do heavy dmg with their flame breath, so after fighting one, I avoided the rest; it just wasn't worth it, and they're not the objective.

Harder than average area, and mildly annoying to work through, but its doable.

I'm a 69 Tauren Hunter on the Cenarius server. My first character, so there is a ton I do not know. Pretty casual solo player - it has taken me months to hit this level. When I started I mostly loved to wander around and explore; and tried to hit higher levels mainly so I could go to more places. Only a little time on the battlefields - I was confused but it was fun ( and we kept winning but I doubt that had much to do with me). No group instances, and very few group quests, so my gear is probably average to below average. Anyway, that said, my opinion of this area.

Of course you want to have 3 quests booked when you arrive here.Culling the Wild, From the Ashes, and this one. You'll pick up Mystery Mask (easy turn in for a little xp) while you are doing Culling.

The aggro is fierce and aggressive here. And I think a fire protection potion would probably come in very handy for anyone without fire resistant gear.
The mobs respawn quickly and sometimes seem to come out of nowhere. Guess it would help not to loot the bodies ( though I tried letting 5 corpses just lay there and I still caught aggro); but the motes you pick up usually sell amazingly well at the auction house.

The alliance presence was heavy here when I played it. Usually in groups. That helps thin out the crowds. Made it easier for me to complete the seeding of one of the "From the Ashes" mounds.

I died twice completing the three quests......one of the times was carelessness on my part....the other time I just got overwhelmed by aggro. 3 fire elementals, one imp and one basilisk. While I died twice, my pet died about 8 times. I am beastmaster specced so those 8 pet deaths on a quest were a first for me.

Despite the dying and aggro aggravation, I really like this spot. Auction house loot and XP payoffs for the combined quests are good. And it's challenging ....the danger made it more fun. ( except when you are running back to your body ...lol)

So many died that even centuries later my tired old heart hungers for revenge. There are too many of them for us to ever reclaim the land, but you could make them afraid.
