Based upon the reputation upgrade progression, i would imagine that this is similar to the Karazhan ring quest chain. With new levels of faction, you can recieve an improved version of the ring, enhancing the stats that it provides. also this would lead me to believe that there are different types of rings, (probably with different names) than the Band of Eternity (tank ring). If i am just ranting and someone else knows better, please correct me.
