The antidote is an insta-cast item. So just walk up to a hulking helboar, say hi, shove the anti dote thru his throat.

And then just watch him grow and get stronger. Of course this will leave you no choice but to kill him, which will complete the quest.

So dont try to chain nova him as a frost mage ( like i did ) for 45 seconds, rather just click the anti dote, kill the boar, walk back to misses Redmane and claim your reward

Might be a bug, but this also works on the nearby Dreadtusks. I used it on one accidentally and still got credit after I killed it.

Edit: it seems as though Dreadtusks are rare (but not technically "rare") spawns from the Hulking Helboars, but it still works on them anyway.

About the Dreadtusk:

It isnt a spawn at all, you use the antidote on a Hulking Helboar, and it turns into a Dreadtusk.

Hunters have it even easier, just send your pet to attack one and then walk up to it and right click the antidote, then kill it for a quest complete :)

If you are a Feral Druid, you may want to choose the Dreadtusk's Fury as the quest reward and here is why:

The best non-raid Feral weapon is a rep reward from CE called The Earthwarden:

While in animal form, a druid's hit rating is based on their weapon skill of their currently equipped weapon. This skill will NEVER increase while in animal form. It can only be increased in caster form. It is by far faster to train your weapons up on mobs your level or higher. This means that at level 70, getting those last 5 points of skill will take DAYS. To minimize the time it will take, it is best to use a 2H mace with the fastest weapon speed. Faster speed = more hits per hour and more chances at a skill up. Of all of the 2H maces, this is the easiest to get with the highest weapon speed. Bank it until you need to train up 2H maces and go to town on the mobs.

Hope this helps somene. I didnt realize it at the time and DE'd mine before I realized its benefit.

Wow! This quest is extremely easy as a combat rogue, just go in there attack and then use the antidote.. a piece of cake.

HEY I DON'T KNOW WAT HAPPENED TO THAT QUEST BUT I CAN'T GET THE EXPERIMENT RESULTS BECAUSE NOTHING IS HAPPENING IN THE HULKING HELBOAR I HOPE SOMEONE COULD HELP ME!!!

hey m8 how come i cant finish that quest bcoz the hulking helboar is not getting big i mean i use the antidote to it many times but nothings happening

A tip for those needing items to DE and like me that needed a new item or 2. Dreadtusk drops some greens. It took a few kills but I recieved Laughing skull shoulders and belt Tourmaline Loop(ring) and a new pair of boots.

Anyone know the pre-reqs for this quest? Thiah and the others at the outpost all have a silver !. I'm a 60 Paladin with neutral faction with CC.

I had a few problems with the prereq - died twice due to the patrolling Felreaver, but, other than that it just took a bit to get done. Great quest reward though, for something that easy.

You need to be level 61 to be able to get this quest

To complete this quest you need to use the Cenarion Antidote on a Hulking Helboar and observe the results.

This quest is quite easy to complete, just look for a helboar nearby, go close and use provided Cenarion Antidote on it.
Helboar will be transformed into Dreadtusk and attack. You have to kill it to complete the quest.

I think there's something we can use in the blood as the base of an antidote. Don't look at me like I've lost my mind!

It's a common theme in nature. Often, the cure for something can be derived from the toxin itself. That's just what I aim to do.

Ridding the boars of their demonic influence would probably eliminate their aggression and give us insight into how to best attempt to help other species.
