Respawn is around 5-10 minutes. Nice spot to farm it is Terokkar Forest. Directly above Shattrath. Its very nice just because there is no mobs :D If it is a bug Blizz pls don't fix it!! Easy enough is the spot in Netherstorm and SMV. I don't recommend Nagrand or Skettis. To many mobs to kill to get 1 herb. Don't bother :D

When you successfully gather this herb it restores some mana to you. The amount it restores appears to be random, I've gotten anywhere from 500 to 3500 mana restored.

i got 3 in 2minutes ^^ Nagrand locations rule. 2of em were there ~100meters to eachouter. Beware of the patroling 70elite, and big one 73elite ;-)

Chances are that if you can reach the node, having a flying mount, you will have no issues dealing with any patrolling mobs but a word for the wary:

If picked near mobs that wander nearby don't be overconfident that you can pick it in time without any +herbalism bonuses. (eg. tauren racial or gloves enchant) Being orange even at maxed herbalism, remember that you will have a chance to fail.

At the risk of giving away my favorite farming spot....here's some useful info:

As of right now, the best place to farm mana thistle is the spot just behind the Aldor Rise. There are no mobs here, and the 2 mana thistle nodes will spawn at a fairly quick rate. I didn't break out the stopwatch and start timing ;o) But the rate is around 5 mins. On top of the 2 thistle nodes there are also some dreaming glory nodes that will show up at less regular intervals (they won't interfere with the mana thistle spawns). Also, if you've got both herbalism and mining, or you have an alt with mining, it's worth mentioning that there are two adamantite veins that will spawn up here on pretty much the same timer as the thistle. I have herbalism on my main and my boyfriend has mining so I pretty much just park both toons up on top of the aldor rise and sign in and out between them, grabbing thistle on the herbalist, and then adamantite on the miner. (the veins can also spawn as rich adamantite or khorium)

I am guessing that there are supposed to be mobs here and they just haven't been added yet, but I have a sneaking suspicion that patch 2.1 will make this place a little less friendly. So take advantage of it while you can!!

Mana thistle can only be found on places where you have to have a flying mount to reach, I found the best place to farm mana thistle is netherstorm. On socrethar's island.

When you loot Mana Thistle, you get 0-3000 mana.

"You gain 2768 Mana from Unknown's Mana Thistle."

The highest amount I have recieved is 3000.

With the 2.1 patch there are now ogres above Aldor Rise. However they are rather spaced out and you can easily swoop in for the Mana Thistle and Dreaming Glory spawns with minimal effort.

Area above Aldor confirmed still great for farming these in Patch 2.2. Two Rich Adamantite and two or three dreaming glory nodes also commonly spawn.

I find that Barrier Hills, the area occupied by ogres on the northwestern border of Shattrath City, is a great place to pick Mana Thistle. Of course you'll need to fly there, but the ogres there are easy enough to handle (being a rogue I just sap if they're close), and its location is convenient (just swing by whenever you're in Shat).

Dunno what the requirement is, but I have 375 and it's orange to me when I pick it, so I'd presume at least 360.

I found Thistle to be a tad interesting to pick - usually has level 69-73 mobs around it, though I found that if I land right on top of it or a bit away from the mob, I don't aggro, or I hit them with a Mind Soothe, though that's not much of an option for non-priests, obviously. Be prepared for a bit of a skirmish at the very least.

It appears that this herb has a global outland spawn , limited nodes that can spawn anywhere in outland , Im not sure of numbers but ive sat on nodes that have not spawned in more than an hour but also flown over nodes in BEM that spawned almost instantly , I think this is to avoid spawn campers , Your best bet is to choose a location and do loops of it , The obvious choice is above Shattrath...this is a mnstake its HIGHLY contested on 10 layers. Skettis is pretty sound but also contested no obly by thistle farmers but by terocone farmers. Bem is probably the safest bet on fast mount and Above shattrath on slower mounts , Remember speed is an illusion the herbs can spawn just after you zoom past and just before the turtle arrives.
