Spoilers ahead.

When Kael'thas Sunstrider's army stormed the naaru's dimensional fortress, Tempest Keep, only one passenger was found: the Keep's guardian, M'uru. Kael recognized that the naaru's energy could quench his people's magical addiction. The sin'dorei claimed the keep as their own and sent M'uru back to Silvermoon where the newly founded blood knights siphoned and manipulated his powers of the Light as Kael intended. M'uru remained imprisoned until Kael'thas was defeated (but did not die) in Tempest Keep: The Eye, at which point he was spirited away to the Sunwell by Kael's forces (patch 2.4).

The blood elves of Silvermoon, now betrayed by their prince and without a source of power, have asked for A'dal's forgiveness for M'uru's imprisonment and pledged to fight alongside the Shattered Sun Offensive. A'dal reveals that all of these events were foretold by Velen; M'uru willingly sacrificed himself knowing that it would lead to the elves' redemption.

It appears M'uru's remaining energies (along with Anveena's) were used to aid in creating the portal to summon Kil'jaeden. His powers depleted, M'uru's has become a "darkened" naaru like D'ore and K'ure, but is inexplicably hostile unlike the latter two.

When M'uru reaches zero health, he will transform into Entropius.

After players defeat Kil'jaeden, Velen will use M'uru's remaining "spark" to reignite the Sunwell with M'uru's energies of the Light. Thus the overarching Burning Crusade story comes full circle: although the blood elves sabotaged the Exodar, Velen facilitated their redemption and replenished their Sunwell's powers.

The M'uru fight is shadow damage heavy, and involves a lot of adds including large Voidwalkers.
Also, in a recent video, at once point he was surrounded by black, targetable skulls.

Second world kill, and this time by a US guild was claimed by Horde guild Exodus from the realm Kel'thuzad.

Some basic fight mechanics:

You should have 4 tanks, including 1 protection paladin.
If you have druid tanks, position them - 1 at the door to muru, and 1 in the hallway opposite side of muru. Three adds come: 2 Berserkers and 1 Mage. Have your dps burn the mage down while stun locking, and interrupting casts. Mages can spellsteal, but more practically their buff should be purged off. The prot paladin is going to be used to pickup the tiny void spawns when you kill sentinals. The fourth tank has to be a warrior, picking up void sentinals and spell reflecting the void charge. When it is about to die this tank should drag the sentinal to the protection paladin.

Classes that are best for add sides are: DPS warriors(whirlwind), Elemental Shamans(chain lightning), Combat Rogues(Blade Flurry). But all melee should be on adds.

Warlocks should be seeding the little voids every couple sentinals, and shadow priests should be on muru the whole time.

At about the six minute mark you want to time murus death so there are no adds up.

He is involved in the Paladin Quest called "Claiming the Light". He's level ? (well to me) and well, i'm not sure what he is. looks like a crystal. Just drop down into the middle of the palading place or take the stairs down just outside to find him, he's a big floating thing. he's at cordinates 93,37.

M'uru is a Naaru, a light creature. The blood elves are keeping it hostage to drain it's power; otherwise they wouldn't be able to be paladins, maybe not priests either. I'm not sure. I'm just wondering what would happen if some Alliance came in and killed the magisters holding it in place...

Just to note, you can't kill those guys, they take damage but don't die when they get to 1% and take more damage. Beyond that, I interrupted all of them and nothing special happened.

Also, he's level 73, and friendly to alliance(or at least to me).

"M'uru was the sole guardian of Tempest Keep before it was invaded by Kael'thas and his blood elven followers. M'uru was captured and taken to the Farstriders' Square of Silvermoon where blood elf Magisters keep it shackled. The powers of the Light were then siphoned out of its body and used to create the Blood Knights. The thought of being able to harness the power of Light in the fight against the Scourge was very enticing for the blood elves.

M'uru appears as hostile and level 73 to players, but doesn't attack and cannot be attacked. He is also hostile to Alliance players, and the blood elven magi shackling him cannot be killed, and will remain at one percent health."

Downed Lady Liadrin, shes not tough at all.....
just boring...really boring....her loot is roughly 160g..split amongst how many people you bring...Tried tagging all the channlers, and for some reason they wouldnt die and stayed at one % HP....hell they followed us all the way out of silvermoon before resetting...
still worth killing the boss tho...just saying that you did something worthwhile for once...

One thing that's interesting about this guy is that he has a sort of song like the other Naaru. You have to listen beyond the magisters' draining to hear it. His song is quite different...more sad then comforting.

IMO The songs is how the Naaru comunicate or express their feelings. In which case that is why M'uru's song is somewhat of a sad sound of music.

Check him out soon, he's gonna be gone in 2.4 .
Kael'thas will steal him and teleport him to the Sunwell Isle.
Also it's speculated that he's going to be a boss in the Sunwell Plateau 25-man raid. (as the Dark Naaru)
Also, in 2.4, Liadrin will be going to Shattrath and pledge allegiance to the Sha'tar (the naaru), since Kael betrayed them, therefore the blood elves will become true paladins of the Light (no longer taking holy energy from M'uru, but harnessing true holy powers, like other paladins).

M'uru is one of the bosses in the new Sunwell dungeon in 2.4. His first form, as the Dark Naaru, he hits hard, has a shadow AoE, and summons minions. After you kill him, he turns into a void god named Entropius. I still don't know what he does in that form, so we just have to wait.

I think that M'uru will become part of some long quest chain to get your own Ashbringer. We all know of the dark crystal purified by Mograine in the Old Hillsbrad event. The quest could involve getting the Heart of M'uru, which is identical to the dark crystal, purify it by taking it to a NPC or do it yourself somehow, take it the Mograine's second son, possible gather up some really rare materials to make the sword, bring it all to the guy, he makes the sword(I sure do hope you can customize it), and ta da, a new Ashbringer. It may start in 2.4 and blizz just won't say, or maybe later, but it will come.
