Here at Wowhead we love art - drawing, painting, sculpting, woodworking, metalworking, jewelry making, papercrafting, badge making, everything under the sun.
In an effort to share what our wonderful community does, we are trying out what we like to call the "Wowhead's Artist's Corner"! About once a month, we will feature an artist and their craft. This article will feature a small description about themselves so that you can get to know them just a bit, show off their art, and learn more about what they do. And of course, there will be a special giveaway for one of their items.
This month we will be featuring:
We spoke with Angela and asked her to tell us a little about herself.
Hey, I’m Angela (also known as Fellmina), and I’m a fantasy artist from Canada. I work as a Senior 2D Artist as my day job, creating vector illustrations and animations for casual games. In my free time I paint a lot of fantasy art, and I also do freelance illustration for tabletop games and books. I love working with bright, glowing colours to create magical looking characters!
I’ve been playing WoW since Mists of Pandaria, when my friends all resubbed and encouraged me to try it out. I had so much to learn, but I loved the night elves, and I quickly became obsessed with collecting the battle pets and armour. I play pretty casually these days, and I find logging in at the end of the day very soothing. The thing I love most about WoW is the story, I got really invested in Jaina when I read Christie Golden’s Tides of War and I can’t wait to see what happens with her next!
I’ve been really lucky to have such a good support system of fellow Warcraft artists, who encouraged me to start making fanart a few years ago and have been so supportive of my progress. I fully believe that anyone can make art, and the most important factor in improving your art skills is practice. It’s not an easy thing to find the motivation to do it, but for me, Warcraft has been my primary source of inspiration, and drawing my elves feels like coming home.
