With Hellfire Citadel in full swing and players starting to get their Legendary Rings, we wanted to highlight some resources that can help you progress through the instance.
Legendary Ring Advice: Hellfire Citadel Raid Guides
Players are starting to complete the Warlords of Draenor Legendary Rings, so we're highlighting our
Hellfire Citadel Raid Guides
again! Each boss guide includes a "When to Use Legendary Ring Effects" section that tells you the best part of the encounter tanks, healers, and DPS should activate their rings on. We've gone back and proofed all the advice, now that players have rings, to ensure we've picked the best times!
The guides also include screenshots of all harmful abilities, how to succeed on trash, tips for all roles, and when to use heroism.

Warcraft Logs
Warcraft Logs is an invaluable tool for raiders everywhere to assess their performance and where they can improve. We have a
guide covering the basics
such as uploading logs, viewing logs, and using the Problems panel, but today we're highlighting some of their recently-released features!
Problems Panel and Wowhead Guides
Warcraft Logs' "Problem" system is a fantastic resource for improving your performance and understanding what's causing you to wipe instead of killing a boss. This feature allows you to isolate the mechanics your guild is failing on, and if you have repeat issues, assess what might be causing them and what you can do to remedy the issues.
Our
Hellfire Citadel Raid Guides
, written by Dayani, are used to power the Problems panel due to their detailed research and testing. At the top of each completed Problems panel for each Hellfire Citadel boss, you'll see a link to the Wowhead Strategy Guide which provides more information.
Combat Replay Meters
The replay system on Warcraft Logs is unique, and can be very useful for isolating positioning-based issues. In the past week, Warcraft Logs has made the system even better by adding meters to combat replay. Now you can see a player or enemy's breakdown while tracking positioning at the same time.
Here are some more detailed things it can do:
Selecting a player in the raid frames, etc. will auto-switch the meter to focus on that player's breakdown.
Selecting an enemy in the playing field will focus the damage meter on that enemy.
You can choose to display damage done, damage taken, damage taken by ability, healing done, healing received.
Mousing over any of the spells brings up a Wowhead tooltip with more information.
Other Improvements
Boss percentages are now shown in wipe menus, color coded so you can easily see your longest pulls.
Raid Team Support is now live. In the client, you can pick a raid team when choosing a guild, and when viewing your calendar or report list, you can filter to the specific raid team you care about. You can also split your raid team reports by main nights and off-nights.
Warcraft Logs exists as a free resource, developed entirely by one player, Kihra, a longtime Mythic raider who wanted better tools for raid progression. Due to the sudden increase in traffic in Warlords, he's started a Patreon to offset server costs and upgrades while keeping all features free. If you liked the features described above, please consider supporting
