Recently, we highlighted
20 Useful Items to Grab Before Burning Crusade Classic
, and many players wanted to share items they felt were equally deserving of a spot! We're going to list 10 more of the most recommended items to pick up now, which are still useful through the Dark Portal into Burning Crusade Classic.
1.
Living Action Potion
Similar to how
Free Action Potion
wasn't nerfed moving into Burning Crusade, a few other really powerful consumables make it through unscathed. In the case of Free Action Potion, it actually received a buff, making it undispellable. As for Living Action Potion, it functions the same as it did in Classic, allowing the user to break free from a stun and become immune for 5 seconds. While it isn't usable in arena, it can be useful in the open world to deal with gankers or enemy monster effects.
2.
Restorative Potion
Just like Free Action Potion and Living Action Potion survives the nerf hammer through the Dark Portal, Restorative Potion is the exact same. At level 70, it functions the exact same way as it did in Classic, giving the user a 30 second buff, and wiping a random debuff of magic, disease, poison, or curse every 5 seconds. Like all other consumables, it isn't usable in arenas, but it still has its place in the open world.
3.
Invisibility Potion
Both Invisibility Potion and
Lesser Invisibility Potion
are unchanged through the Dark Portal and can still be used to great effect in the open world, in dungeons, and in raids. Again, it can't be used in arena, but it is extremely useful and has tons of potential for creative uses.
4.
Magic Dust
One of the most surprising consumables to not get nerfed, Magic Dust somehow makes it into the Dark Portal. Which is really surprising when you look at the list of PvP consumables that did get nerfed. Clutch of Foresight, Flash Bomb, even the most obscure consumable for PvP,
Wail of the Banshee
gets nerfed. All of these consumables get a "Chance to fizzle against targets higher than level 60." But surprisingly, Magic Dust
doesn't
. So, going into Burning Crusade, it would be very wise to stock up on Magic Dust for open world PvP or even to use while questing in Outlands! Don't forget Undead players can use
Will of the Forsaken
to break out!
5.
Gnomish Cloaking Device
While most of Engineering's value is lowered for PvP events in Burning Crusade, as most of it can't be used in arena, or in the case of the Spell Reflector trinkets, they have a higher chance to resist against targets over level 60, Gnomish Cloaking Device is actually the exception. It can't be used in arena (because the cooldown is 60 minutes), but it still has the same number of uses as it did in Classic for open world PvP, questing, and so on.
6.
Badge of the Swarmguard
Badge of the Swarmguard is one of the most recommended trinkets following the
20 Useful Items to Grab Before Burning Crusade Classic
article. For physical damage dealers, this trinket has the potential to be the highest damage trinket available during Phase 1 of Burning Crusade Classic. This all depends on a few factors, boss armor values, average duration of boss fights, among other things. But as it stands, this is going to be an insanely powerful trinket, at least for trash fights.
7.
Darkmoon Card: Twisting Nether
While mostly regarded as a meme and not taken seriously,
it actually does work in arena
. Again, this is mostly a meme, but it can lead to some really crazy arena matches, where a team can make a crazy comeback that they would never have deserved otherwise. Especially in the situation of double damage 2v2 teams, having a resurrection like this could be devastating!
8.
Mark of Tyranny
Mark of Tyranny is a Phase 1 item from Classic WoW, rewarded for completing a quest in Blackrock Spire. And believe it or not, it is a viable trinket for Feral Druid tanks
even in Naxxramas
. Going through the Dark Portal, this trinket is still useful if you plan on being a Bear tank in Burning Crusade. While it will eventually get replaced with trinkets from TBC Raids, this is a fantastic trinket to bring through the Dark Portal and can still be used as a pre-raid Best in Slot!
9.
Skullflame Shield
While
Argent Defender
is really good for Protection Paladins and arguably better than Skullflame Shield, Skullflame Shield is still a fantastic Shield to bring through the Dark Portal and Protection Paladins that are planning on "boosting" low level alts should still consider using this Shield during the Pre-patch and for some time into Burning Crusade Classic. All of these Shields will be replaced with Petrified Lichen Guard, but it will take some time to acquire the reputation with Sporegarr before it can be purchased by a Protection Paladin.
10.
Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker
Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker is still an insanely powerful weapon for a Tank, especially for groups planning on dungeon grinding from 60 to 70 once the Dark Portal opens. In Patch 2.0.10, it is nerfed, reducing the threat generated from the AOE proc, but its still a fast weapon, does generate
some
AOE threat, and as long as the damage dealers in the group focus fire enemies, the tank should have enough threat to hold the additional enemies at bay. And Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker is one of the most iconic weapons from World of Warcraft!
Lastly,
of course
raid gear and trinkets from Naxxramas are the best items to bring through the Dark Portal, these articles are meant to be a fun list of items that people might not think of first hand as being the "best" items to bring into Burning Crusade Classic, but are still useful. If you are fortunate enough to be in a raid group still farming Naxxramas for full Best in Slot gear, you will be further ahead than most players in Burning Crusade!
