They aren't hard to be found, just keep killing Soutsea guys until you get anought Pirate Lockboxes. You will likely find all the pieces inside. The quest is kind of complicated and i haven't found a solution to it. I will update any new asap.

These are for "Cuergo's Gold", a quest I was able to easily accomplish as a 42nd circle Paladin.

After you've gathered all three of the map fragments, put them together and accept the quest.

If you'll notice, the map gives you a clue on wher to go as a "southern beach". Amazingly if you look at the map of Tanaris, low and behold, you'll notice a beach beyond the mountains on the southern tip of the isle.

This is the "hard" part, wen you reach the beach, you'll notce its swarming with 48 elite aggro turtles. If you have a mount, you should have no problem if you cant hack your way throught them. Onthe beach there are two places where you'll see a mast with a pirate flag. I went and did this quest at the west-most site, but either will work.

Click the object and it will spawn a chest (which requires Cuergo's key). Instantly 5 level 45 pirates spawn to defend their treasure. These are the chums who'll have the key for you. Being only lvl42, I hopped on my mount as soon as I spawned the chest, ran away, and when the pirates give up the chase, they will "reset" into two groups... one with 2, the other with3 pirates.

I took on the pair, and after dropping one, I looted the key, and ran from the other. Eventually the pirates will 'die' and the chest will disappear, as long as you have a key, your in good shape. Simply click the mast again, respawn the pirates, run away (or fight them), and when the coast is clear, open the chest. I found two Uncommon items, a couple junk items, some ale and coin.

Just honestly start grinding the pirates they drop their footlockers and it is a farely decent drop rate for any of the peices of the map . When you peice them together you can do a quest to find Cuergo's treasure

As the topic says, don�t have the other map fragment on you, i gave the other 2 to a friend and got the last one directly.

I cant find the lower map fragment! I keep getting the middle and upper one over and over again. I cant even find this thing in the AH! If anyone has any surefire ways to find it let me know please

Yeah i have about like 15 of the lower in the Tanaris auction for about 1g ea no trouble at all

I had same problem, but then decided to go onto boat inside fort. Got lower map frag in about 10 kills.

flag is 53.95, had to fight 7 lvl 44-55 pirates + 1 turtle lol at this same time, loot v. poor 1 green +50s and some grey items. Turtles are not elites any more :)) gl

drop rate for the pirate lockboxes is rediculous... i got the middle and upper map fragments easily and since then i've killed 62 mobs and havent gotten a single lockbox. i suggest if you dont get a box after 10 or so to stop trying because it's a waste of time.

I am currently a level 48 Dranei shaman. I started at 1% towards level 49 last night and when I quit for the night I was at 50%. I spent the entire time killing pirates. I don't know how many that turns out to be ( at about 200 exp per). I died once in a bad pull from a building coinciding with a bad respawn - 5 pirate melee. I couldn't go in to the boats solo. I found two upper portions and two middle portions of the map. Last week I got dragged through there with a group and ended up with a middle and an upper portion. All in all I got about 6 boxes dropped last night and there was nothing valuable in any of them. The only thing good I can say is that I am 50% closer to my next level and that I did manage three nice green plate armor drops that my Paly alt will grow into. So yeah - the drop rate is stupid. And if the drop rate of map pieces are roughly the same then the odds of me receiving 8 pieces of the map and one of them not being the lower is about 6%. So either the posted drop rate is wrong or I shouldn't play the lottery any time soon.

i joined all three map fragments together and sold them in the auction hous for 39 gold =)

Definitely do the Western flag, I tried the Eastern one first and found that it was swarming with the Turtles and the Pirates do not split into two groups, they stay together.

Then I moved to the Western flag, there were still some Turtles there but not as many, but the main thing is that the Pirates split up after you first activate the mast.

I stealth in (rogue), unstealthed and waited for it to cooldown, opened the mast, stealthed. Pirates appeared and immediately divided up, I took on the pair, sapped one, killed the other, looted the key from him, stealthed again, open the chest.

Disappointing, the contents were 2 greens that I couldn't use, 3 grey junk items and alcohol.

So which quest do I need to be on to actually be able to get this to drop? I'm level 44, is that high enough? =3

So how come it says the Top 3 drops are at 0.04% tops, but then Spewed Larva drop with 1.35% ?

WoW Classic 1.13.2 the same old vanilla bug is still present. There is a chance that either no chest will spawn or it may despawn before you can even loot it. Recommend avoiding this quest. Try selling the fragments on the neutral AH in Gadgetzan and perhaps they will sell. Or just destroy or vendor them. The overall time to travel to the area is not worth the likely chance of encountering the bug. For reference: It bugged on me and was a colossal waste of time.If you have the key and decide to try it best of luck to you!

I got 12 chests so far and every single one of them had the lower map fragment.
Seems like this one have a higher chance to drop than the other, If not Im just insanely unlucky.
