Also a while back this quest was a bit buggy normally taking a long time to callect the turtle meat, but that has now been fix and drop rate for the meat is good. I collected mine while team up with a friend doing the same quest in less then 15mins :)

They are high drop rate at east coast of Tanaris off the turtles there...

If u want good drop rate try the turtles in shimmering flats. got a fairly nice amount off em.

I got all 10 piece of turtle meat from the creek behind TM. However, don't try to farm at the HF portion of the creek....instead go further north into Alterac Mountain portion of the creek. Drop rate for meat and other mats are much, much better in the Alterac Mountain section than HF/TM section.

on my hunter curently level 37 i farm turtles at dustwallow marsh alng the beach just east of the graveyard at Theramore island also if you interested i get about 220-240 Xp from them and the turtle meat drop rate is very very good

The Steeljaw Turtles near Steamwheedle POrt have iabout a 75% drop for me. =)

The turtles on the east shore in Hinterlands drop a ton of this stuff. In 3 runs up and down the shore, I got about 40 turtle meats. Pretty much every turtle was giving meat.

Yeah confirmed that best place is in the creek to east of tm, just swim north until map changes to alterac mountains, turtle meat begins to drop in 1s and 2s

What's with the whining about low drop rate? I had no problem at all getting turtle meat while doing all the quests in thousand needles. I then went to hillsbrad, got the quest, bought 1 soothing spice and turned in the quest. It was very easy, gave me 2500 exp and 69 Alliance rep.

There is a quest ("Hardened Shells") in Salt Flats (1K Needles) that requires you to kill a number of the turtles. Good for lvl 32-33 solo. When you do this quest, keep your Turtle Meat for the Turtle Bisque quest in Southshore. I had 12 meats by the time I finished all my grinding quests in Salt Flats, so no work to do in Hillsbrad at all.

Something must have changed in the 2.3 patch as i'm getting 100% drop rate....

They totally changed the drop rate on these with the new patch, I just got two a piece from almost every one I killed in the Hinterlands

Turtle meat drops almost every kill off the Snapjaws in Lordamere Lake, Silverpine Forest. (about 15, 15 on the eastern coast) Hope this helps :D

I am having similar luck to everyone else now, back in the day I used to have to go up and down the river one full time to get the meat. Then I did shimmering flats first and kept any meat from there to make this quest easier.

So this time I did shimmering flats and got 7 meat then came over and killed two turtles getting 3 meat. I thought... what? So I continued killing turtles for cooking skillups getting 1-2 meat per turtle. If I had to guess I would say the new droprate is around 150%.

Best spot hands down..dreadmurk shore..just north of theramore downtown..all up and down the shore and in the water.!
