This kite acts as an companion/pet. It will follow you around like any normal pet would, and is attached by a string. When you summon it, it appears with one of four random color schemes (red, blue, green, purple). If you mount while your Dragon Kite is summoned, it will disappear. The kite is actually rather large, much larger than you would expect from the preview shots of it. I have yet to see the lightning-strike that was talked about in the preview for this item. Very neat.

Just got the lightning to strike. I would guess it happens maybe once every hour or so. A bolt of lightning hits the kite and then travels down the string and zaps you, shaking your screen. It does no damage. Very neat indeed.

Distribution: March of the Legion booster boxes contain 24 boosters and cost approx $60 USD (inc. shipping), therefore the average cost of obtaining this particular loot is $908.00. This was the first set that had increased loot card distribution.

How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
According to http://www.wowtcgloot.com/dragon_kite.htm (most information sourced from there), the lowest Buy It Now price starts around $100 USD upwards to $135 USD, with the average quantity listed hovering around 10 items.

How do the Loot cards work?
Loot cards are special rare versions of WoW TCG cards found in booster packs, starter decks, and raid decks that have a revealable unique code. Once this protective layer concealing the code is scratched away, a 25 digit promotion code is revealed that can be entered into the Blizzard offical promotions page. These codes work for both US and EU servers.

I have the 25 digit loot code, now what?
All accounts from every region in the world use http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/promotion.html to redeem any and all special loot. This webpage allows you to enter the 25 digit promotion code and also select the region and realm for the character that will receive the loot item.

Upon succcessfuly submitting the above information, you will be presented with an in-game code. Write this code down or print it out; you will need it to retrieve your item. Log into the game with the character that is to receive the item and travel to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale. There, you will need to find a goblin by the name of Landro Longshot. He is located on the lower parts of Booty Bay on the docks, and should be easily recognised due to the fact that he has a distinctive purple shirt and two body guards next to him.

When you find Landro, he will first ask if you are here for a promotion, and then ask you which TCG expansion your item comes from (or Points Redemption); check your loot card if you are not sure which item that is. Ensure you have got bag space to hold the item!

I just posted a screenshot of the lightning strike. I'm not sure if it's just chance, but my kite got struck once every 5-8 minutes in Zangarmarsh when it was raining. I guess that'd make since.

I got this kite some weeks ago, my gf bought 2 packs of cards and gave one of them to me, surprisingly it was a loot card in!

It's a fun thing to have when youre fishing, and I fish alot so.
Havent seen anyone else who has it, i'm on the server Vashj.

I've just gotten this sexy beast a few days ago on Kul Tiras-EU, and I can just say, I love it. I specially love when the lightning strucks :D
I think I'm the only on Kul Tiras who got it.
Just.. It should be avaible to have the kite out while mounted; I hate to keep on summoning it!

This is an Epic item that sits in your bag and is summoned and dismissed like a non-combat pet by right clicking. It appears in one of 4 random colours (Red, Green, Blue or Purple) and floats above your head as you run around. It's attached to your left wrist by a string.

When it's raining it will occasionally be struck by lightening that travels down the wire and hits your hand accompanied by thunder. (It's purely visual and does no damage).

It dismisses when you mount up.

It is available by finding a special loot card from the "March of the Legion" Warcraft Trading Card game. You scratch off the foil to reveal a code that must be redeemed on the Warcraft promo website. Once you enter the realm you wish to use it on it generates a unique code for you to hand in to Landro Longshot in Booty Bay.

This is the rarest of the 3 new items, Paper Flying Machine Kit and Rocket Chicken being the other two.

So how do you get it?

It's a loot card from World of Wacraft: Trading Card Game. You buy a booster pack, and you either get it or not. It IS NOT a world drop, boss drop, etc.

I saw this for the 1st time in front of Scryers bank last night. I was a pretty cool addition to the game. After reading the comment as to where it came from, I guess I'll probably never have one, but it's cool all the same.

i have this and the paper airplanes on the drak thul server. you cant be on any mount and have the kite out. however its fun for BGs when the other side is more amazed by the kite rather than the beatin they are taking :)

i just got the loot card this morning. it is very rare, and comes in different colors. i got a purple/blue one. it is a fun pet and gives you major bragging rights over your friends! =D

just wanted to add in one more fact about it. when you have it out, it occasionally gets struck by lightning and the lightning travels down the string and hits you. it doesnt do any damage, just a fun little gag

I have this kite, and it is very fun to use. Its great to watch the horde stare at my kite in AV. If you want to see it, look me up on Llane. My toon's name is hopebringer.
