This is for a scryer quest in Area 52. If it's a 19% drop rate im really really really unlucky.

one of these is used for the quest 'Bloodgem Crystals' (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10204).

if you have one, hang on to it so you can use it for the quest, which is obtainable after completing 'Manaforge B'naar' (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10189).

IMO they seem to be dropping more if you let the Belf get it's own buff from the Blood Crystal...may just be conicidence, but I downed a trio of them, two had the buff, and both had Shards.

I don't know if this is just a coincidence, but it seems like the mob is scripted to kneel down next to the crates and stuff that they're standing by. After killing tons of these guys, it seems like they usually drop a shard after they do that, but before they get a chance to use it on the crystal.

From what I have found out it seems that Summoner Kanthin has a 100% drop rate for the bloodgem shard at least every time i have killed him today he has droped one.

35 Sunfury Signets and 2 Arcane tomes later I found one. Clicked it and accidently moved my character the second after. Don't do this it will dissappear.
Now I'm going to have to start grinding again. :(

If you need some, look at AH... there are some you can buy if your drop rate is 0,x% :-)

once u have killed marathelle and kanthin the first time and dropped
their quest items, u gain 100% drop rate of bloodgem shard, u only
have to wait the respawn (ca 3min).

Thats incorrect I killed marathelle and kanthin many times after completing the quests that involve them and no gem droped.

If you've done this quest already, or if you're Aldor, and you're not interested in the 60-second buff this can give you at a crystal, you can safely vendor it.

I had a strange thought... can you perhaps save these for TK and use them inside? Like, maybe find a big red gem inside, use it during a bossfight, what have you. I havnt tried it yet but this thought came to me just now.

In case anyone was wondering using multiple shards after each other doesn't stack the buff; it only refreshes it.

Using these drains some of your mana. 523 mana for me, but it might be a certain percentage of your max mana.

You have to use one for a quest in Netherstorm, but after completeing it they still drop and can be used on the satellite red crystals for an amazing.....

60 second buff that increases your spell damage and healing by 5%! For 60 whole seconds! It takes 5 seconds to channel the spell too!

Not worth it, vendor them. You will get quite a few drop if you are farming Sunfury Signets for Scryers rep.

I picked up three while grinding, used one for the quest, but not too sure what to do with the others? Can they be used for anything else or is it trash?

I also found several of these things and had no idea what they were used for. Done some searching and found out, its for this quest: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10204/bloodgem-crystals

- Completing quests for the Scryers will cause your Aldor reputation level to decrease -

Which means, if you are hating Scryers, you will not receive this quest, but you can still pick up the bloodgem shards.

Even though it may be a scyer's quest, using this on a Blood crystal will give you Bloodgem Infusion for 1 minute (+5% spelldmg & healing). I'am draenei, paladin and aldor so doubt very much it's somehow restricted for the actual use.

Does any one know what it sells for in AH roughly. Somehow I doubt what it says here. Seems to high. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and i think this is a hunter weapon.
