The dropping from mobs is incorrect. It probably shows that because a group killed those 2 mobs and immediately opened the Cache afterwards and Wowhead misinterpreted it as a drop.

To the comment above about only dropping in heroic,
apr, 12 2007 i recieved this totem from the jewel locked "cache" that you need to collect the gems off the mini-bosses for in mechanar.

All 70 instances drop the same items in heroic. The only thing different is that they add badges, epic gems, and the last boss has 3-5 epic drops.

This includes instances such as Sethekk Halls, Shadow Labyrinth, Steamvaults, Shattered Halls, Black Morass, and all of Tempest Keep instances,

How does this work? It says "by up to"...does that mean it's essentially 55 spell damage that only applies to CL/LB (meaning LB gets 85-ish% and CL gets 71-ish%) or does it mean that LB gets 55 and CL gets some slightly smaller amount? Has anyone run tests?

I've run it 5 times and it hasn't dropped yet. :( always the leather boots or cloth shoulders or something else. /sigh

Im very sorry for all the guys doing 50 runs, it just dropped in my first ever Mechanar run.
Elemental Shammy i am, so lucky me.

If there really 18% chance for this to "drop" it shouldn't be possible to take 50-70 runs for this to drop.

I suppose that you can get it in both normal and heroic and that the chance of dropping is equal in both?

Heh, third time through Mech this dropped. Only shaman in the group, AND I'm elemental. So this was a big upgrade for me.

What i would like to see in these comments is real information besides complaints about drop rates (if you dont understand drop rates at level 70 then uninstall), I havent done a full run of mech so far and im not too familiar, I would love if someone would explain where "Cache of the Legion" is and how to open it.

Farmed the Totem for my 4 shammies in 3 different sessions (normal mode as I am still poorly geared).

Took me 18 runs (only took down the mini bosses) to get the 4 totems.
After I read the posts here on 50+ runs to Mech without getting a Totem I first thought I'd forget about this, but then later changed my mind as it is a nice Ele spec Totem.

If you have a good tank and a healer buddy this can easily be farmed 3man as I feel running the whole instance just to grab the Cache (very early in the instance) is just silly.
