Hmm sorta like an I.V. for casters...
I don't really see the point of this though. I looked up Super Mana potions. They restore 1800-3000 mana like this so the only benefit i see is that it might save space.

(edit) Oh! It also might not share a cooldown with potions or might even have like a shorter cooldown! That would be cool.

wow, what an item for priests/druids/paladins.It takes 20 Super Mana Potions, but 5 Super Mana potions uses up one slot in your backpack. This would save 3 slots in your bags. hooray for something worthwhile in the engineering profession! :)

I'm curious. Since its an engineering device is it considered a consumable? I ask because altho consumables are NOT allowed in arenas this engineering device may be allowed which would then make it extremely useful.

Tbh i don't think this is worth getting what with it sharing the pots cool downs and also the mats on its own seem ridiculous. Only point in getting this would be if you didnt have bag space but who doesnt have ample bag space when raiding ? I had this drop off of a Sunfury eradicator, the ones near the black temple.

Would be much more useful if you could refill it or if you could use a different strength of potion. I carry 3 different types of mana pots because I often just need a small boost, not a large chunk of mana that will cost me significantly more.

With repair costs, it would just be wasteful to use super mana pots every single time, and pay more to carry them in fewer slots. One stack of supers is plenty. Maybe I'm just not a hardcore enough raider to be the intended user?

I wouldn't mind being able to make theese, but seriously I see it up on the AH for 150-200 gold. As far as I know noone has bought it.
Another weakness of this item that noone has mentioned yet is that while a stack of potions can be combined theese cannot.
If I have a stack of 2 potions, a stack of 2 potions and one more, I can combine them to one stack.
But two injectors with 10 charges cannot be combined.

you can use it at 40-49 pvp and also in lvl 30-39 if you are a gnome. Very usefull as twink.

Eugh, spent 100g on this recipe on auction assuming that it would at least be re-stockable once you'd used up all the charges! I know it only takes a couple of knothide leather and four fel iron bars to make but still... frankly I think I'd prefer the three extra bag slots being taken up by potions to having wasted so much cash on something so "one trick pony"!

While waiting for the patch, I tried to buy as many of these as I could. Unfortunately, I was only ever able to find two of them. I bought them for 130g each.

I gave one of them away, and was able to sell the second one for 350g after the patch.

My impression: As a endgame raiding shammyhealer these are a very nice thing to have. I'm always carrying around 2 or 3 bags full of pots, at least 80 super mana pots and about 40 super healing pots, just to keep a safe stock. Its quite annoying having a bank stuffed with 16-slotters that are filled to the limit with gear for every specc (so i guess druids likes these too) and if ure a herbalist & alchemist like I am, tons of herbs and other stuff. This empties a full bag for a guy like me, conclusion; I love these.

I wouldnt mind a similiar thing for Flasks =)

Extremely useful for the classes that switch roles. im Engineering on my druid and im looking for this pattern but ive bought a few of these before (and the healing one) to save bagspace and just not have to worry about having potions on me.

bagspace for some chars is a big deal. its a pain to go back to a place with a bank to get more stuff when you can just have one of these with you. druids, warriors, hunters, warlocks all have limited bagspace due to either consumables you neeed in your bags (arrows and soul shards) or gear (i have a full bag+of tanking gear depending on the situation plus another bag for other random junk i use all the time...if i hve to take resistance gear i have even more stuff i need to bring)

Enough with the "Dropped for me's", this information page is about the item, drops are recorded without cluttering up the chat box for a reason.

The logic behind making these is simply saving bagspace, four spaces of 20 pots versus one space of an injector. if that's worth 300g I leave to you and your banker.

If it takes 20 super mana pots to make it, and all it does is give 20 charges of super mana pot, why not just carry and use a stack of 20 mana pots? What's the use of blowing all the other mats? Am I missing what makes this item beneficial?

Dropped for me while farming motes of fire up in Blades Edge Mountains off Searing Fire Elementals, the only real benefit I can see of this item is saving some bag room, im not an engineer so will sell it but would be interesting to know if this item stacks so say you could carry 40 mana pots at once over 2 slots rather than wasting 8 bag spaces

It fits in an engineering bag, so if you're carrying around a lot of engineering bombs and trinkets, you can toss in a big stack of potions and still not have it clutter up your lootin' bags.

Engineering is awesome, you just need to know how your stuff works! All I ever hear is people complaining that Engineering sucks for Battlegrounds, and they make worthless crap... Of course they suck for Battlegrounds, or that would give engineers a rediculous advantage!

Like I said, you need to know how your stuff works. Grenades/bombs WILL NOT win a duel for you, but if there are 3 or so mobs on you you can toss a bomb, do a total of about 1600+ damage, and get a nice 3-5 second stun to heal yourself back up to full.. If you are in an instance, and there are 6-8 mobs on you, you can do well over 3500+ damage total... they are a friggen asset. Grenades have smaller blast radius, but can be thrown 45 yards... That's farther than a hunter can shoot, or a mage can cast. The Goblin Rocket Launcher gives you 45 yard range too, and does 1000-1500 damage on a non-crit, as well as a nice 3 second stun, sure it has a 5 second cast, but I seem to see alot of Mages charging up Pyroblast, and I'm sure alot of them will tell you how 'useless' it is.

Engineering has many many trinkets that can be used for many many purposes. The Goblin Jumper Cables, and Goblin Jumper Cables XL will give you a 25% chance and 75% chance, respectively, to ressurect your Priest/Pally/Shammy when you wipe, or your friend when you get ganked. I am a Druid, and can Combat Res every half hour, but the cables are a freaking asset, nonetheless. Many other trinkets are of limited value in a duel, I admit, but they are hells-of-fun in PVE, when I get my pet bombling running around beside me, or set my goblin dragon gun off when I am in Bear Form... fire breathing bear is HILARIOUS... Engineers later get kind of a secondary Hearthstone, to Everlook or Gadgetzan, which I imagine is useful, but I never really use.

Engineers can mimick other classes... I can Sap with my Goblin Rocket Helmet, and Mind Control with my Gnomish Mind Control Cap. The Deepdive Helmet helps an absolute ton when dueling in the water (YES, it happens sometimes...). Rocket boots increase run speed a whole bunch, which is the equivilant of a Rogue, or Cat-Form Druid's Dash. I dont need keys for doors, as I can blast them open with Seaforium Charges (Doesn't work on chests though.)

Engineering is absolutely useless if you don't know how to use it, but many tricks of the trade give you many "last resorts" when in a duel or swamped by mobs... which, sure, might 'fizzle', but might save your ass, so quit complaining.

I can make amazing guns, amazing scopes, amazing bullets, which can rake in amazing cash. My pet dragonlings give me about an extra 40 dps when things get to dicy. WE CAN MAKE REPAIR BOTS which are the difference between quitting an instance before the last boss, and redoubling our efforts to get that last drop you wanted.

Goggles are very useful to clothies, and I just learned to make a leather pair which can be absolutely amazing, if I luck out on the enchant I get.

Parts are important to some quests, which I can make for a decent amount of money, and the Deadly Blunderbuss sells like mad on AH for 2g, while the mats are worth about 30s. We can make Salt Shakers for Leatherworkers.

Like I said tho, you need to know how to use engineering. I recommend that you use TrinketMenu 3.55, which will help you organize all the fun/effective trinkets you pack around, swapping them out when they are on cooldowns. I, myself, have about 8 trinkets in my inventory, and use all of them, all the time. =D

Anyways, thanks for listening to this rant.. Like I said, dont expect engineering to bail you out of stupid situations that you get yourself into. It kinda gets me when people say engineering sucks, before they bother to put any time or effort into learning how it works. ALCHEMY SUCKS, it's a waste of time and money, and potions are boring to make/use/sell. So HA!

Mostly agree with the above post. Engineering is fun, it is useful and it COULD be a money maker. My 60 pally has financed his epic mount quest which cost me like 500g entirely by making and selling thorium shells as an example(that was before BC expansion). My 70 hunter makes his own "blue" ammo. Various trinkets are a lot of fun to use.

However, with the new expansion it would be nice for Blizz to come up with some engineering stuff that allows you to level your skill to 375 a little easier. My skill is currently at 355 and it's really difficult to level it now. It took me over 100 g in mats to level from 352 to 355. There is nothing "orange" that I can create. Several things I can make are yellow, some are green and they all require relatively expensive various mats. If any Blizz people read this, please create something that we can sell to non-engineers (besides the adamantite rifle that noone wants to buy) and still level out skill.

Other than being cheap skill ups, flares are good at marking locations.

Green flare = where I will pull the mob to.
White flare = where you guys need to stand.

Also why is it that every engineering item ends up being a discussion about other eng items? Or Eng itself?

Engineering is awsome. i have Power Amplification Goggles on my warlock. and those have +46 stam.. that is VERY good for a lvl 50. I also made 2 Gnomish Poultryizer which each has 45 stam.
yes, leveling engineering is Very expensive and i know that i have spent way more then 1000g lvling it from 1-350+ And like the long post avobe... everything they said is true. its fun in pvp and all that crap. So if you dont like it. drop the amazing profession, stfu and get something els.

ok im engi and im a mage i got htis for 25g. i never seen it that low, and its gr8! i had 100 mana pots so htats 20 bag spaces with this its now 5. so if u think this is crap ur a noob >< the mats to make it prff about 10g tops if u buy form AH if u got mining jsut the price fo a little bit of leather

It dropped in Nagrand while I was farming clefthoof meat for the cooking daily. Right outside of Garadar , the entrance that is towards Shatt. Dropped off a Clefthoof Bull.

Id say they fixed it now where this can really make engineers money. I got the pattern on my priest a while back, and come last patch this is nolonger a engineer only item. meaning all those serious raiders that have limited bag space are willing to give up gold. i typicaly make between five to ten gold off each, but when you craft 50 and they all sell. it adds up fast.

Engineering is useful and on the ZA patch you can make flying helicopters now and that is useful in many ways. I love not having to buy arrows and bullets when i can make a 5 pack. The goggles are awesome too beacuse the quest in zangarmarsh gives you the mote extractor and the goggles let me see the clouds and saved some primals there and sold them for some $$

I read some of the comments here about how all this does is save the person three bag spaces. Well, if you're only carrying around 20 mana potions, sure, it isn't worth it.

But in our raid, the raid leader is often carrying around three to four bags worth of mana potions because he sells them to people and uses quite a few of them himself as a healer. He never has bag space for other items he might want to bring along.

As for me, I like to carry 40 to 60 mana potions per raid and I use quite a few of them. Having two or three of these made saves me 6 to 9 bag spaces. That's almost an entire bag that I can use for other purposes (such as elixirs, herbs, buff food, etc).

So yeah, if you're only making one, it may seem silly, but if you're making more, it's definitely worth it.

ok. everyone that posted all these redundant posts on wether not this is a good thing to have, need to go shoot themselves. OF COURSE IT IS. people if it dropped for u, u shouldnt be posting anything unless its about where and how u got it. PERIOD.and if it didnt drop, then why are u posting all this nonsense? i would like to know where i can get one. all this crap about saving space and bla bla bla, SHUTUP. is this strickly a world drop and good luck finding it? or can it be found within certain mobs? im sry but im not paying 700g for it, so good luck selling it for that, i will use the 4 bag slots rather than pay that BS price. where it drops, thats all thats needed. i saw clefthoof bulls and something in netherstorm. whats going on here peeps? can u throw us a bone

I think there are two versions of this now. One is still the random world drop which is BOE.

However there is a new version which drops from Kael'thas in Heroic Magister's Terrace. This version is BOP which will only show up if there is an engineer in the group.

I am wondering if anyone knows what the true drop rate is for it to drop of Kael'thas if there is an engineer in the group?
