This gun is very good for pvp since it is very slow--this should last you until you get a purple weapon or the arena xbow. Mats are not too crazy; I've made a few already. Suggested price is 300-500g

I have to disagree, the mats are fairly horrible. On my server it takes about 100-150g worth of khorium and 30-50g worth of adamantite to make. I'm not sure what noble topaz go for but given the pitiful drop rate of them I'm gonna guess quite a lot. So you're really looking at 130-200g just for the metal. I'd say that the 300-500g price tag is right, without a scope on it.

However, this is a pretty decent gun over all that is quite slow. It's going to last a hunter a while until they hit revered with HH (or Thrallmar for a bow) or start running Kharazan or Heroic level instances.

It's a little bit slower, +agi (instead of +int). It's got it's perks, too, and the bow sells for 300 or so on my server.

I'd say this gun is worth 4-500, although I've seen them for 900 on my server (and the guy says he's selling them, although I dis-believe).

I'm having a hard time deciding to build this weapon. Currently I use the Consortium Blaster with the +crit scope on it. I'm a MM PvP hunter so I have been trying to focus on Agi instead of +ap. I have 1700 AP (with TSA and AotH) and 22.94% crit. I have all the mats for the rifle and a new +crit scope for it. Do I use the Ornate Khorium Rifle or stick with the Consortium Blaster? The blaster's AP and +crit will probably negate the DPS advantage of the Khorium rifle, but the Khorium's higher top end will mean higher crits. Is that best when PvP in BG's and Arenas?

As a survival spec'd hunter, I intend to get this at 70. The slowest and highest max damage gun in the game, to my knowledge. I crit like mad already, so the speed and high top end on this will mean bigger numbers there.

Actually aelfric, this is a very good speed for a BM hunter. the slow speed wouldn't be ideal for a survival or MM hunter, but with 5/5 Serpent's Swiftness + the added attack speed of their ammo pouch, this will give them a very nice speed to slip their steady shots inbetween auto.

My BM hunter is quite comfortable with the quite fast Hemet's Elekk gun, with an attack speed of 1.81 at the moment. I fit steady shots in just fine. I think most people forget that steady shot is affected by seperent swiftness+ammo pouch as well. My autoshot is 1.81 speed, my steady shot is a little less than 1.0. No problem

This gun seems to me to be ideal for tanks range pulling. It's got Hit & Agi which I love on my warrior, and has high damage for that one shot you get off to pull it. No need for a fast weapon when all you're using it for is pulling =)

It's not bad. I dont know about 3k gun but you could probably sell it for 1k which isnt to shabby considering it comes from engineering which has never been a money maker really. It has a higher top end and faster speed than

I was grinding rep for the Consortium Blaster and funny thing is, the schematics for this gun drop while doing it.

I'm still planning to use the Consortium Blaster just because the speed fits better in my shot rotation as a BM, but I know a lot of marksmen hunters in my guild are going to be happy I found it.

While I would use this gun over any other blue ranged weapon (with the exception of the HWL x-bow), it's really not worth it, considering the Valanos Longbow goes for so little. I saw someone on my server selling one for 90g, and lots of people reported getting one for cheaper than that even. With prices like that for a weapon that's so close to the khorium rifle in DPS, the price of mats will never justify the use of this gun, unless you want a gun no matter what. Perosnally, bows and crossbows are great for one reason: Cenarion revered rep arrows. I was planning on using bows until I got the freakin awesome looking Recoiless Rocket Ripper from Steamvaults... but I hated not being able to use the 37dps arrows for 50 silver. I made my own adamantite shells from mats I collected, but i really only used them for special occasions, like bossed or arenas. It's really annoying that the only good bullets are crafted.
I got the Valanos Longbow in a chest that I rolled for and won in Shadow Labs, and switched to that because of the arrows (and DPS).
Until Blizzard gives us bullets to buy from a vendor (consortium maybe?), I don't think guns are worth it unless you have a ton of gold to spend.

I just bought the schem. for 200g b/o, weopon assembled total cost:

Fel Iron Bolts: 0g (mined/assembled)

Total Cost: 372g

I think its a pretty good deal imo

jeez the price varies so much for the mats the recipe and the gun from server to server. w

its worth what people will pay for you to craft w/ or w/out mats

ive had them in regular for 500-600 gold

and sold and been whispered for them also

some have said do more some have said sell for less it depends on the mats at the time !

i reckon a great price at the moment is about 750 normal 500/600 no cheaper

see what happens over the next few days weeks etc

This gun is pretty kool, it has high hit damage and it is nice for pvp and pve, it has ok stats, and with the money you can make at level 70, it should be a piece of cake to get the money or buy the mats. Best gun you can get that is high level cuz its BOE.

Not just people that dont have time to go instances. I have done well a lot more then 50 Mechanar runs and still have not seen Telescopic Sharprifle dropp. And as you know im realy siik of going mechanar by now so then its ether rep grinding or crafting.

If you hate engineers so much REMOVE the skill, i spent a fortune getting to skill 375 and you telling me that this is the best gun i can make? waste of time to make this, yer it looks good and ok its alright, but its not epic, where the epic goods that every other proffesion can make? Just give us 1 decant gun or scope to make ffs. BTW i had to pay a lot for this, i havnt made any money back and i auctioned 3 of them, waste to buy and make

It's not bad, but consider that it's end level Engineering, and look at the end level weapons Blacksmiths can make. They're comparable to dropped weapons (even if they're just as hard to obtain), and there's the satisfaction that the weapon you're using, YOU made, it wasn't a lucky drop or grinding for weeks in instances. It's got your name in it.

My point is that I think Engineers should be able to make better guns and bows than they currently can. Make the mats hard to get, sure, but make it possible. Granted, bows are more widely used (in the Lore, only Dwarf hunters would really use them), but in an age of flying machines and robots in fantasy, it's not fair to consider guns the second worst weapon type in the game (following behind Fist weps) The flipside of this argument is that Engineering isn't specifically for Hunters, but crafted ranged weapons are, by and large, vendor trash, and Engineering seems like the intelligent profession to put them in.

The latest patch is addressing some of the issues with Engineering and I commend Blizzard for finally looking at this and giving us those nice looking epic head items but don't stop now guys, you're not finished yet :D

Just missed a 285g bid for this thing today. Looks all kinds of bad ass and is a stellar weapon for PvP with it's high damage range and slower speed. Much better than Valanos for pre-Kara work IMO. Want this bought and paid for BEFORE I hit 70.

BTW, if they come up with some decent epic BOE guns for engineers in the next patch or two I might take the time and gold to level the skill, would love to craft my own woop ass gat. As it stands now... no way.

i got it for 225g yesterday and i am a slow weapon fan personally. unfortunately im a pallly and cant use it. no, j/k. but i like the 3.3K aimed shot crits on mobs w/ sunders on em! also the massive multishot crits are what i live for O_O

possibly the best pre epic gun, the benefit is that you can use the 43dps crafted shot which currently does not have an arrow version. otherwise on par with valanos

i got this gun today for 250g and its probaly one of my best ranged weapons at 70...it hits really hard as a normal shot and its slow so massive dps and you can get a shot cycle in very easily.. i recommend this gun for all gun using hunters that like to run instances a lot because it makes you a lot more useful for dps and utility

Took me a bit to track down the Khorium Bars and Adamantite Tubes (Ursin Server) but all the mats ended up costing me just alittle over 100g not to shabby for a slight upgrade! :D

I am a MM hunter i dont like thsi gun. The schematic is 375, same for the Gyro Balanced Khorium destroyer, which i could make for pretty much free since most of it is mining/farming. i say dont waste your time on this gun.

I just made this gun. I had the consortium blaster for a while now and figured it is time for a change. I must say this hits a hell of a lot harder than the blaster. The dps is the same but overall I would choose this gun over any other pre-epic ranged weapon (I am a Dwarf). I noticed the biggest difference on the battleground. I am working on making the gyro-balanced now...

0.1 more dps....holy shiet.

the valanos adds int which is good for hunters, and some attk power. besides when u get to kara your going to be replacing your blue gun in 5 seconds. overall, yes this is the best non epic ranged wepon in the game as of right now, but with the differences so minimal to a valanos, just get that for 30g and go for sunfury, wolfslayer, steelhawk, etc.

I like this Rifle, I cant run instances as much as others, and compared to the destroyer i like the agility over stamina so to me this is a good buy until i get my arena points up and buy the rifle, being a dwarf i will only ever go rifles, not only is it better in character i also get +1% crit
