It seems that it has a really low rate, i got 1 Nightseye and 1 Talasite from prospecting 150 Adamantite Ores last night.

I prospected one of these out of my first stack of 5 Fel Iron ore after turning lvl300 Jewel crafting. I guess I must have got lucky.

Should be noted: This can be picked up from mining. I had this drop from mining Adamantite today.

Also worth noting. Can be pickpocketed off of mobs. Highly uncommon though. Just pickpocketted one off a mob in Zangarmarsh while questing.

I got this one off of a adamantite ore out in Nagrand yesterday. Yup! Im keeping this one to get cut for my 70 gear

I got one of these on the 6th Fel Iron mine I hit in Outland. I am a blacksmith and from what I read these are for Jewel and Eng. I put it on AH for 15 gold buy out and it went quick. Next one I will save.

This time in Terokkar Forest near the ruins (Peon quest). I was mining Adamantite.

Should save these for your own socketed items at 70, no matter what your secondary profession is.

A jewelcrafter can probably cut it to your red socket needs.

These are very nice right now, since they're made into Royal Nightseye, which is an extremely potent gem for healers, and since it fits into both Red and Blue sockets, healing gear has a lot of those.

If you socket one of these gems (purple ones) into an item, does it count as if you have a blue and red gem socketed or none?

Im wondering because some meta gems require you to have some specific gem colors in your gear.

uhm can you only get these from mining? i got 375 in mining and have never seen them drop ever and i need 2 for engineering, please tell me if there is any way at all exept darkmoon fairy

You can find them in drops and from mining, but both are incredibly rare. I just saw my wife pull one from an Adamantite ore node.

Best bet is not to farm them, just mine away and hope one drops!
