Also dropped by any of the various earth elementals I believe. I had 30 in my bag when I needed the primal earth, and I've never been to the Shattered Halls.

When farming some ore you get some of the motes as well.
sometime you get 4 motes in a row.

Miners should have no problem picking up Primal Earths, as the motes drop readily off various veins in the Outland, especially Adamantite.

These are relatively cheap cheap and do not sell for much, compared to other primals. This is likely due to their high supply - most miners will get many primal earths while mining, but will not use them and instead up them on the AH.

Despite what you may see here, it does take ten motes to create a primal. What you see here is actually a quirk of the way Blizzard handles the spell. On Blizzard's end, a two-step process occurs:

You use the first mote, destroying it in the process.
A spell is cast, which destroys the other nine motes, and creates a primal..

This spell here--step two--is the spell that gets listed here on Wowhead.

If you are farming primal earth, you may want to look at this Primal Earth Farming guide. It includes maps of certain spots to go in Nagrand, Netherstorm, and Shadowmoon Valley.

Primal Earth is an elemental crafting material. It is created by joining (10). Miners can shatter this primal back into motes.

im not sure if this is the right place to put this,but while on the subject of primals i have a holy lv 70 pally and having the toughtest time beating these elementals,mainly the rock..if there are any pallys out there that has a killer atk combo that dont use up too much mana and gets the job done could help me out i would be greatful. im working on getting my flyer and pounding my head on how to go about killing these things faster to speed up the process :)

I am a Leatherworker and need Primal Earth for making armor...I farm for Motes of Earth in Nagrand (Outlands) from the Enraged Crushers (rock elementals), once you have 10 Motes of Earth, you can turn them into one Primal Earth yourself. It may be somewhat time consuming to farm all the motes, but...way less expensive than buying the Primal Earth off the auction house. The drop rate for the Mote of Earths is pretty good in Nagrand I find. The rock elementals are usually hanging around little brown hills all over the map. Good luck.

Yeah they are basically a pain in the ass to farm. I'm a feral druid so it isn't as bad as for some other classes, but I am getting fed up with it. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some more patience and maybe try a different spot.

They go for like 2-3 on my server, Tyraluon, i use them for making mercucial stones, i buy those, farm the primal life which is piss easy as im a herbalist, and buy the primal mana which is a little more expensive

Yesterday, I farm for 45 minutes for mote of earth in Netherstorm. I concentrate in just attacking the earth elementals, and leaving along the mana ones except when they attacked me. I got 2 motes of mana and 0, zero, nada, motes of earth.

I have been looking for the recipe to transmute Primal Life to Primal Earth but so far, no luck.

this is completely true: i FARMED for 1 good hr yesterday in Nagard. 8 MOTES! This kinda drop rate is simply unacceptable for me

If you are a mage and are farming for these for one reason or another, go to the elementals in the Elemental Plateau. When they do that earthquake-type ability, they are practically kiting themselves!

Just wanted to say thankyou to all you Primal Earth farmers out there.

You make them so cheap to buy on AH that I now never need to consider farming them myself.

Quick daily trasnmute of earth to water equates to 15g profit (assuming no proc)

Primal Manas are actually rather easy to farm in Netherstorm. Getting these you can sell them on the AH and buy other Primals with this. This strategy is very simple, but it is one that i use often.

The Manas don't sell as well as fires, but they do sell for about 15 gold on my server. This can turn into 2 primal mights. I find this much easier than farming for mights offa those rock things in nagrand.

Just a reminder... if you EVER farm these without being a miner, you're just wasting your time. Just farm Primal Air/Fire/Mana, they go for 4-6 times as much as money. You prolly would take the same amount of time.

i cant say for sure, cause i havent checked, ill leave that to whoever wants the xmute , but sporreggar has a ton primal xmutes...its prob there, although im NOT 100 % sure

on my server this may be the most useless item ever created on my server primal earth goes for 2g and primal life for 20g turn 20g into 2g hummm mmmn no thanks

Here's a transmute recipe for Primal Earth that you don't even have to be an alchemist to use:
1) spend 20-40 minutes farming 1 primal air/water/mana
2) go to auction house and create auction for farmed primal with buyout option set around 20g.
2) wait 1hr30sec to 1hr20min for transmute to complete
3) check mailbox. Your primal will have transmuted to around 20g
4) return to auction house and buy FIVE to TEN primal earths!

Really, with primal earths selling for 2-4g on most servers and it taking just as long to farm them as the higher priced primals if you're not a miner, it makes no sense from a gold per hour perspective to farm them. Do the higher priced ones instead. Make more gold and get your primal earths anyway.

For me, I've discovered this transmute and I could NOT be any happier!

This recipe does two things for me. I've found that this thing not only wastes time, but it also was money as well! I use this every time that I feel I may have accumulated too much wealth! Problem solved!
