Every Christmas season, these snowballs can be found scattered around Alterac Valley.

If you are hunter and have these... its too easy. If melee class comes near you, throw snowball at him and while he is in ranged zone, just pwn him.

These are so much fun for fragging your friends in AV. Just wait for them to be low on health and knock them off the bridge or a cliff.

The hardpacked snowballs are picked up in hardpacked snowdrifts at your starting area/very little hills in the Field of Strife in the middle/random areas. Throwing them knocks the target back. It works on both players in your team and players in the enemy team. It can work on mounted players. It does NOT work on NPCs.
These work well for casters/hunters vs rogues, if they haven't stunlocked you. However the best use of snowballs are made to knock enemies off towers and out of bunkers if you are on the upper floors, and as follows:
1. Stand on the Stormpike Graveyard->Stormpike Aid Station bridge.
2. Wait for an enemy to attack you or run past(face him on the bridge sideways)/wait for your team's main corpselooter to walk past.
3. Throw the snowball.
4. Weeeeeee!

This is terrible!

However, in the same hotfix I believe they fixed hunter trap auras to wear off properly after leaving the radius of the trap (no more 40 second frost trapping).

They rock! Once i was in AV i was going over the bridge to the alliance bunkers. Someone throwed one and the i was throwed of the bridge. Weird

Any class is entitled to have fun with these Snowballs, but a kiting class can obviously use these for a greater advantage than everybody else ;-)

ps. I have no kiting class, just thinking about how fun it would be as e.g. a mage to throw 1 of these and start another FB/FN round

This is basically the improved version of the hunters scatter shot for those damn warriors, rogues and mages, its on a 30s cooldown, and effectively gets you out of our deadzone/melee range, so we can have fun with you the way we're supposed to.

I think the interruption is the best use for them. Especially when you use them on mages and healers.

Spawns on the ground in Alterac Vally in x5, mostly spawns in the middle field.

Use them fast because they do eventually melt, maybe a 5 minute timer before they melt.

I'm hearing stories about the alliance using these for defense: gathered up a whole bunch, and threw them at the Horde that were crossing a bridge. Knocked them off the bridge into the ravine.
The story goes that you used to be able to throw them at your own faction in AV, but there were too many horde hitting each other and knocking each other around.

Lmao these are awesome in AV. They propels the target forward a few meters, around 20yards. You can pick them up in 5s in snow mounds called hard packed snowdrifts in AV. They are excellent to use against mages, priests, paladins and warlocks. Simple just throw one and it interrupts casting. They are also really fun to use to knock enemies into ravines and out of towers, etc. I have a lot of fun with them on the road to Stormpike :D, knocking hunters off the high road.

odd you can use them to throw a tauren back some feet but you cant use them to knock a gnome off his mount

i use these all the time!
if a mage is casting a spell or a padilid is healing its self,use one of these and it will stop them

These are really good for interrupting casters and push people off towers and bridges. I've been having a blast using them, just too bad they only last 5min.
