Note that engineering skill is not required for this item. With improved concentration aura and this item, my paladin would have about 22% resistance to silence effects. Still might not be worth it considering the epic necklace options out there.

The comment about it stacking with Imp. Concentration Aura was before the change to the reduction of silence mechanic.

This, Murmuring Ring, Talisman of the Breaker, Imp. Concentration Aura, and Focused Mind used to be % chances to completely resist silence. These also stacked together. Imp. Concentration Aura/Focused Mind used to be a 15% chance to resist silence. This neck used to be a 7%. Talisman of the Breaker used to be 30%.

Thus, my Resto Shaman partner with the Talisman and the talent had a 45% chance to flat out resist silence. Blizzard didn't like people being able to stack things of that nature and changed all silence resisting effects into non-stacking silence duration reduction.

When I'm speaking of silence, I'm also including being interrupted. So people saying the first comment was wrong isn't necessarily true...It's just outdated.

This is the only useful neck item available to a level one twink. there are other items that can be used but have no benefit.

this schematic dropped TWICE in a row on mob in stratholm was funny to see, on one pull 2 mobs dropped this, talk about %^&*ed up loot table

I have this schematic, and no caster over 45 in my 100+ person guild will wear this over what they have (except me). I can't see many people paying a lot for this.

I plan to test how big a difference this makes in duels.

It's a 7% chance to resist, not +7 to resist. It doesn't work very well.

I've used this item in several dozen runs at Strat and Scholo. It's not worth the arcanite or the item slot. imo.

Yea, this thing sucks. I'd like to have some silence-blocking ability, but not for only 7%, and not at the expense of the neck slot.

Maybe they could make this into a necklace-upgrading item, like Mithril Spurs upgrade boots (for example). That would make it far more worthwhile.

mmm imagine that with strong hold gauntlets. Mages and warriors/rogues would be no match for the mighty pally with engineering.

Yes, it would be a lot better if it had a "Resistant to silences for 30 seconds" specification. Add a 1 hour cooldown then.

That might make it wortht he +60g neede to make it.

A preist can get 15% from atalent and this neck increases an additional 7% means 22% of the time, I will resist a silence effect.

I think for a strat run, or heck, even a princess run in mara, this could be a nice thing to have. It is expensive, but if you have and making a priest or mage alt, give to em and as they level, they have something noone else has if nothign else.

With necklaces showing up at level 25+, most of which cost an obscene amount of money on tha AH, I'd say the most obvious use for this item would be to seriously twink an alt... especially a priest alt for instances.

Beyond that, is a very tactical item for particular situations the foremost I would imagine is PvP encounters. I know that while I will definitely NOT be using this exclusively, I will have it in my bank and switch it out once and a while. That is what engineering is about, so it seems. (parachute cloak, rocketboots, etc)

i have this on my lvl 10 mage. i know it's an investment into a twink, but if you've got the money, you can get a lot of mileage out of it. and since there is no lvl req, and no engineering req, it's almost worth it.

Dude, if u didn't realize it this trinket has no lvl requirement or engy req. Thus, this is the best twink caster necklace ever. For those twinks that are either 19, or 29 casters, this necklace is really helpful. There are not much nice caster necklaces at such lvl.

This item has apparently changed from an awesome 7% resistance to a worthless 10% reduction in duration of silences. Since pvp silences are not more than 10 seconds then at best it is worth 1 second. No longer worth it compared to any other neck :[

Well if you're an engineer, you have more than enough items and trinkets to cause havoc with instead of casting for those 10 seconds

Works great on Level 1 twinks. This replaced my twinks Soap on a Rope which was certainly useless. This may have some use to her. :D

My MM Hunter has a "Silence Shot" that lasts 3sec... bumps to 3.3 sec? And at the sacrifice of the Buffs that my necklace gives me!

For the price of those mats! you gotta be kidding me!

7% is not much and almost not worth the over priced mats however this is still a great item, it could be the differance between life or death for the MT on the first boss in AQ.

But hell you guys who say it sucks need to get into a raid more then you will know.

people seem to miss the fact that this is tradeable, not BoP, and DOESNT REQUIRE ENGINEERING TO USE. get materials to make it and your tailorer character can get it made.

very nice item, would equip for boss's that silence, especially as healer where silence means someone dies. this is single item the game that i've found to have resists vs silence, and to have this much on 1 slot, very worth the money.

people that say this is useless need to pay attention, and probably haven't played a healer during raids before.

i might see if i can buy this for my warlock, wish i had this. and for pvp... every warrior/rogue/priest/mage will have talent to silence you instead of counter.

I don't believe it's got an eng requirement, but considering that there's 2 arcanite and a large opal in it, I doubt that there's going to be much of a demand for something that expensive.

You kidding? 7% isnt too bad. Not like you get alot of stats on a neck item anyway. Id see this as being VERY nice for a priest. May be a touch too costly but meh seems like a sweet item in and of itself.

Lapdragon is right, there isn't any engineering requirement but it's just too costly for the 7% silence resist you get to be of interest to very many folks out there.
