Very rare drop that can be found on Drakki.

The scales can be farmed in wetlands at Dragonmaw Gates near Grim Batol. They range in levels from 58 - 63.

The chest itself can sell on Auction house for about 100gold

I'm not sure, but I think Red Dragonscales are in Wetlands (east portion of the zone). I haven't had the opportunity to fight them, since they're still ? to me -DZ

I have recently started a hunter and he can soon wear mail armor, i didn't know that leatherworks made mail and as of the stats, it is so much better then that of the mail that smiths can make, this has got to be the nicest mail armor i have seen

The last guy has a great assesment. red Dragonscale does appear to be for Shamans. Check out the Blackdragon Scale Attack Power Bonus's. Those bonus's can add just as much if not MORE than any agility bonus though lacking the Crit chance. 144+ attack power total for just the Black listed on Thottbot. No info on the boots. I promise you your DPS will be much higher than the Beast Set. Have an enchanter add +AGI to this armor to increase crit chance and you will have a great all around set with no equal for hunters.

It is good armor for certain occasions. As soon as I'd walk into MC, I would take off my Dreamwalker chest and put this on. (shaman)

this is a great chest for shamens doing molten core. In molten core if the shamen pulls the aggro he has a good chance of being dead. So hes not using allot of his aggro pulling spells. Therfore he is laying totems and healing. Which is why this is such a great peice for Molten Core

Does this drop really at 8.8% rate?
I've done like 60 UBRS general runs and haven't seen any.

I didnt even think about that, but wow, beast spec w/ spirit bond would own with this + Broken Tooth. (1.0 attack speed cat)

Im 60 dwarf hunter, using dreamwalker CP atm, I have dragonscale LW. if i ever find broken tooth and this pattern i might jsut respec for spirit bond.

no one should be using this for fire resists. the basic dragonscale BP that you can get from the dragonscale trainer is much nicer in terms of resists, and it has the magic damage absorbsion buff. it may have lower AC, but its the best onyxia BP there is.

It drops for alliance from Drakkisath too. I think it drops more often for horde though, since i grabbed this beauty on my 7th run in UBRS ;)

I CAN also support the mats, if you find the mats tough then its only going to cost you 5g as a tip for my time.

Red Dragonscales: Depending on server rate, coun on somewhere arround 40g

Ill fix rest for free.

Of course you can fix half of the dragonscales and the leather or w/e, then it will only be cheaper for you.
I will also lower the 10g price a little for each material you turn in. Mark my words tough, its cheaper to be patient and hunt the items by your self, in the AH you sometimes find awesome prices for scales.

Also scales are this expensive cuz they are a hell to farm. Allways elite dragonkin near lvl 60, takes long and its boring, thus the high price.

It droped for me on monday. I can make it on Ragnaros, just /w Feketehal�l.
(Dont understand btw why would any hunter want this, if he can get Black dragonscale too, which gives AP instead of healing up.... :/)

I am expecting a full set like the other colors to show up sometime soon, maybe even before "Scarlet Crusade"... Is there even an easy place to farm up some red dragonscales? I only occasionly get them in UBRS from some chromatic dragonkin or other... So we have blue, green, black, and red... next color guess anyone? Errrr bronze? Then you can have some armor set that has one piece from each color and it gives you some stupid bonus... etc., etc.

Well, they might even make the Chromatic a set.. and that'd probably be the epic dragonscale set..

And to people who say that it sucks or is for shammies that don't know what they're doing; What do you expect shammies to do in MC/BWL/Onyxia's Lair? Tank?

Best place to farm Red Dragonscales is Grim Batol. At least 1 in 3 dragons drops 1. But you'll need finkle's skinner since when you get deeper, the mobs are level 62 elites. But yeah, I would laugh if a hunter gets this. The only excuse to get this is you're beast mastery spec. lol other than, it's like.. eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

We do heal our pets a little, however the spell is so incredibly crappy I prefer to use a bandage on my pet!

Shaman gear it is, but my Alliance hunter can make it anyway on Thunderhorn - give a shout if you need ;)

The drop rate is WAY to low for the amount of scales you need to craft for yourself, much less be able to get near the amount of money for the item, considering alternatives that drop. It takes tons of grinding and raiding just to beat out enough of the other leatherworkers just to get enough scales to make one. They should up the drop rate to 25% to allow it to be remotely valuable in game.
