Why in the name of all that's holy is this junk? It should at least be meat and feedable to a pet!

Before patch 2.4, this item was named Bear Flank and had the same graphic as the currently-in-existence Bear Flank, but it was just a useless grey item.

When 2.4 went live, all instances of the old Bear Flank carried by players transformed into this Bear Organ, which has the same itemID and vendor price, but a new icon. The Bear Flank item that we know and love today was added to the drop tables of the level 50s-ish bears at that point--it did not exist before 2.4.

Does anyone else think that blizzard (or at least a programmer there) has a bear fetish? Just with the items: Large Bear Bone, Big Bear Meat and Bear Organ? I'm SURE their trying to push sommething. xD

As a hunter at lvl 53 I can tell you it is not possible to feed it for a pet over 50. I think the level is around lvl 10 if you want to feed it. It said "your pet is too high level" when I tried. And this is grey, which means you cannot cook it!

Not sure if I was just really unlucky, but couldn't get these to drop off any of the bears in Feralas.

Hi, so I needed this to level up my cooking, so I went to Western Plaguelands. I started at the Chillwind Camp (Alliance side) and just began killing Shaggy Black Bears just to try out my luck... and well, I have have killed 32 and have received 29 bear flanks. This has been the best farming I have had. Just about every Shaggy Black Bear I have killed has dropped the meat. I have a guildy who is a skinner with me and he has skinned the bears, prompting them to spawn faster.

Do NOT go to Ferals for bear flanks. Killed 50 and barely even 50% drop of anything let alone zero bear flanks.
I then went up to Winterspring. Killed 30 Elder Shadtooth (lvl 55-57) got 18 out of 30 kills.

38/44 Felwood. Only the bears around that spot will drop bear flank. The ones more northern do not.
