This guide is a bit wrong. The Pendant of the Violet Eye stays BiS as a trinket even through phase 5 because the sheer amount of int (giving healing from the intellect with talent, spell crit, and huge amount of mana per 5 when used). The Pheonix-Ring of Rebirth provides better stats than the Coral Band of the Revived (mana per 5 over spirit for holy pallies, more intellect again for only losing about 16-17 bonus healing because of holy pally talent).

you have Glorious Gauntlets of Crestfall being dropped by Leotheras the Blind but it drops from Vashj. just a minor mishap there but great guide

Comment by MagicSuxxx

Girdle of Fallen Stars drops from TK trash mobs, not SSC.

Thanks for the guide !

Comment by Kactus04

You have Glorious Gauntlets of Crestfall being from a token when they are non-tier and are a straight drop from Lady Vashj

Comment by Kactus04

To me, the stats on Talisman of the Sun King aren't worth it over the badge offhand Tears of Heaven.

Comment by Ulme

Note that Direbrew Hops have same stats like Essence of the Martyr and its way more easy to get. U can simply save 41Badge of Justice.

This guide is pretty poorly researched, definitely not created by anyone playing holy paladin - maybe not even playing the game?

1. Almost all healers know that the Insightful Earthstorm diamond is bis over the Bracing Earthstorm. It works out at around 15 -35mp5 due to its frequent procs. The 2% threat drop is basically inconsequential from the Bracing Earthstorm. I would say that if you are spamming Super Mana Pots/Dark runes on cooldown - you probably don't need the Insightful procs- but lets be honest most people play the game casually and would prefer the free mana regen.

2. This guide literally doesn't even mention the 4-set Tier 5 bonus that you give up by taking Sunhawk Leggings over Tier 5. In 4/5 Tier 5 with Vashj gloves you easily reach 25% crit in raids, and mp5 becomes less relevant as a lot of your regen now comes from Illumination (critting your heals). The tier bonus is really nice, it seems every time it procs it comes in to give you a clutch -0.5second, often 1.5sec cast Holy Light (Stacks with Light's Grace). Furthermore, all of your Resto shamans should get priority on the legs over you, further making the item less available.

Girdle of Fallen Stars (belt) again, whilst marginally better than the Plate belt from Solarian - is going to be going to your shamans first. The plate piece also matches your gear so is +99 cool points (worth more imo ofc)

3. The guide doesn't even mention the Hyjal rings . These are better than all the other ring options and it should be used with the Magtheridon Head Ring. (Naaru Lightwarden's) - Unless you are a World boss killer.

4. The gem slots. Do yourself a favor and actually check your gem bonuses, don't just shove reds into everything. The Epic Gem from SP Heroic and Ramps / SHH Heroic, are very close in value to Teardrop Living Rubies. When you get good socket bonuses (e.g. gloves and t5 chest) they out-value these slots. You also will need 2 blues/2yellows (or 2 purple/2 orange) to get your Insightful Earthstorm active. I would recommend you put your orange/purples in your chest and your Epic Heroic gems into your Vashj gloves as they won't be replaced for a long-time. (Better than tier 6!).

GL Holy paladins, I hope you get your power ranger gear soon.

should add the 25 badge neck Necklace of Eternal Hope as an 'optional' for neck pieces. slightly higher than Emberspur Talisman imo (but still leave Emberspur Talisman as an optional, later in phase when mana pool is less necessary, this outpaces almost everything besides Lord Sanguinar's Claim)

This guide is da poop.

How is Talisman of the Sun King better then Aegis of the Vindicator. Aegis of the Vindicator has 9 more int with the enchant which gives 3 spellpower, so only 3 less then Talisman of the Sun King, but also extra 135 mana and 0.1% crit. Also Aegis of the Vindicator has 5 more mp5.

Natasha's Guardian Cord is not mentioned here as an optional thing for neck.

Comment by Libramar

Missing a few key pieces, and I'm sure my list is incomplete.
Top 3 ring: Band of Eternity
At LEAST optional libram Libram of Absolute Truth
Very few raids bring enough paladins to have Blessing of Light on everyone, so calling Libram of Souls Redeemed BiS is iffy
There's no mention of using 4 pieces of Crystalforge, which can situationally be insanely good. (helm, shoulders, legs, chest most likely)
Trinkets are subject to some debate, Ribbon of Sacrifice shines over Pendant of the Violet Eye in shorter fights where mana pool isn't an issue, or tanks have spiky damage phases. Later in the phase the fights will be short enough and/or you'll have enough MP5 & spell crit where mana pool is a lot less needed.
Aegis of the Vindicator is the BiS offhand, full stop, since you can add the +12 intellect enchant. You gain 9 int, 5 MP5, and 5k armor and lose 6 healing power and some stamina by using it over Talisman of the Sun King. This is a no-brainer.

How is Girdle of Fallen Stars better than Girdle of the Righteous Path? It seems to me that at best the former is an option to the latter which should be BiS by my account.
Girdle of the Righteous Path offers about ~1.2% additional crit in exchange for a negligible -15 mana and -4 healing and -10 mp5 (which is generally not what we look for anyway), and this assumes you socket Brilliant Dawnstone into Girdle of Fallen Stars.
Am I missing something?
