Ability

Description

Shadow Bolt Volley

Shadow Bolt Volley is an area-of-effect spell that deals Shadow damage to all nearby targets. It has a short cast time and is interruptible.

Fear

Fear will target a random player and fear them for a short duration. This can be prevented with Fear Ward and broken by Tremor Totem.

Dark Mending

Dark Mending is a 2-second cast that will heal the Hellfire Channeler and another nearby Hellfire Channeler for a significant amount. This spell is interruptible and a priority for any class with an interrupt.

Soul Transfer

Soul Transfer will trigger when any Hellfire Channeler dies, giving a stacking buff to all other living Hellfire Channelers. Each stack increases the size of the Hellfire Channeler, as well as damage and spellcasting speed. The final Hellfire Channeler will have a significant damage boost and a casting speed boost.

Summon Burning Abyssal

Summon Burning Abyssal will go off periodically, summoning a Burning Abyssal that lasts for 60 seconds. While up, Burning Abyssals will melee and cast Fireblast on the target with the highest threat (likely a Healer). They can be crowd controlled with Banish, and it is a priority for any Warlock in the raid to keep them under control.

Magtheridon Abilities

Ability

Description

Cleave

Cleave deals damage to all targets in front of Magtheridon. Typically, the Main Tank will drag Magtheridon to one of the walls and face him into it, preventing Cleave from hitting anyone other than the Main Tank.

Conflagration

Conflagration will place a small ring of fire on the ground, dealing Fire damage over time. Everyone in the raid should avoid standing in this.

Quake

Quake will cause a knockback on all players in the raid and interrupt all spellcasting for 7 seconds. You can cast instant spells during the Quake effect.

Blast Nova

Blast Nova has a two-second cast time and, if successfully cast, will put a Fire damage-over-time debuff on the entire raid, dealing significant damage. Blast Nova can be interrupted only if five players in the raid each interact with their own Manticron Cube simultaneously, channeling a spell to interrupt the cast. While channeling the Manticron Cube, players receive a damage-over-time effect, and once they finish interacting with it, they will gain Mind Exhaustion, a 3-minute debuff preventing them from interacting with it again.

Debris

During Phase Three, Debris will fall from the ceiling, dealing massive damage and stunning the entire raid for 2 seconds. The ceiling will also Collapse, causing Debris damage to be magnified in a specific area, instantly one-shotting any player below.

Enrage

After 22 minutes, Magtheridon will Enrage and gain an increase in damage, likely instantly wiping the raid.

After the first Hellfire Channeler is killed, if there is an Off-Tank holding threat on two Channelers, cleave them down with Cleave and Blade Flurry.

During Phase One, be sure to interrupt any Dark Mending from Channelers, as this is your priority as Melee. Focus-fire any remaining Hellfire Channelers before damaging the boss.

Typically, Melee are not assigned to interacting with the Manticron Cubes. Parse your heart out on the boss.

Avoid standing in Conflagration or any Collapsing Ceiling.

Tips for Ranged on Magtheridon

During Phase One, Warlock are in charge of keeping the Burning Abyssals under control with Banish and Fear. In the event the Warlocks are struggling, Hunter and Mage can help out with kiting them by using slows and roots.

During Phase One, if your class has an interrupt, you can help out the Melee on any Dark Mending casts. Focus-fire any remaining Hellfire Channelers before damaging the boss.

If you are assigned to interacting with Manticron Cubes, immediately go to your position when the boss awakens, so you can be prepared to interact with the Cube when Blast Wave is being cast. Do not spam-click the Cube. Calmly click it once to interact with it.

Avoid standing in Conflagration or any Collapsing Ceiling.

Tips for Healers on Magtheridon

During Phase One, Healers should be assigned to healing specific tanks on the Hellfire Channelers.

During Phase Two, be prepared to put up healing-over-time abilities on the Main Tank to keep them alive during a Quake effect. Priests can also use Power Word: Shield to great effect during this cast.

When the boss reaches 30% total health, the fight will transition into Phase Three. Healers should be prepared for a two-second stun at the beginning of the phase, using healing-over-time abilities here.

Avoid standing in Conflagration or any Collapsing Ceiling.
