Healing Focus

As this talent provides 70% pushback resistance for only two talent points, it's a must-have for absolutely every healing build, especially since the only other healing talent you can use these two points on in a PvE build is Holy Specialization, which isn't anywhere as impactful.

Improved Renew

This talent increases the base healing of the spell as well as any healing gained through healing power, making it another talent you should include in practically every build. In full Phase 2 BiS, this talent adds nearly 400 HPS to your max-rank Renew, which is one of your main filler spells.

Holy Specialization

Provides a critical chance bonus for all direct heals and Holy damaging spells, and therefore increases your Inspiration uptime. Although crit is technically a pretty good stat for healing Priests in PvE, it's a lot less impactful than most other talents.

Spell Warding

While this talent offers a decent amount of magic damage protection, in PvE it's generally better to spec into healing talents instead, especially considering Priests can keep themselves alive fairly easily with Power Word: Shield and Prayer of Mending when needed.

Divine Fury

Although Priests assigned to raidhealing don't cast Greater Heal very often, there isn't much else you can spend these points on, so this talent is also always worth taking. Keep in mind that the Smite cast time reduction is also handy, since doing damage when your healing isn't needed is an important part of being a good healer.

Holy Nova

Not great for actual healing, other than in situations in which threat can be an issue, but useful for sologrinding as well as doing damage when your healing isn't needed. Simply take one point out of Holy Specialization if you want to spec into it.

Blessed Recovery

Can be useful as dispel protection in PvP, but do not spend more than one talent point on it.

Inspiration

An incredibly powerful mitigation buff for tanks. While this does not stack with Ancestral Fortitude and you might not be assigned to tankhealing, depending on your spec, there's nothing better to spend these points on, so it's a must-have for basically any PvE build.

Holy Reach

Among other things, this talent raises the radius of your Circle of Healing from 15 yards to 18 yards, making it an essential talent for CoH builds.

Improved Healing

Simply reduces the mana cost of your Greater Heal. Although PS or IDS Priests should always take this, CoH Priests can technically drop it in favour of additional Divine Fury points if they are never assigned to tankhealing.

Searing Light

Affects the base damage of both spells, as well as the coefficient. Decent for sologrinding, but not so much for raiding, as other classes are better at filling a hybrid healer/dps role.

Healing Prayers

Even though you might think this talent is subpar, the MP5 you gain through it from PoM alone by far outweighs the value you gain from any other talent you can use those two points on, especially if you occasionally cast Prayer of Healing.

Spirit of Redemption

The additional 5% total spirit at the cost of just one talent point already makes this talent fantastic, but 15 seconds of free spellcasts after dying is nothing to scoff at either. Always take this talent.

Spiritual Guidance

There's not much to be said about this talent, as you'll always take it when possible in PvE. One of several reasons why we prefer spirit over mp5.

Spiritual Healing

Unlike in Classic, this now also affects the coefficient of spells instead of just the base healing. Excellent talent for any PvE build, especially Circle of Healing ones, due to its low coefficient.

Blessed Resilience

Too far down the Holy skill tree to be useful for anything PvP-related.

Lightwell

Surprisingly, a decent talent now if you are willing to make the effort to play around it. This first Lightwell cast of any game session will snapshot your +healing value and keep it for the rest of the session, meaning you can easily achieve 5k healing per HoT by snapshotting trinkets and buffs. Keep in mind that the HoT effect still breaks on damage taken.

Holy Concentration

Not a bad talent, but getting 2/2 Healing Prayers will provide more value than having the third point of this one.

Surge of Light

Can proc on both healing and damage crits, making it a solid talent for sologrinding or doing some healer damage.

Empowered Healing

Makes a significant difference in your single-target throughput, but again, how many points you spend in this is usually dictated by what spec you opt for.

Circle of Healing

An incredibly strong AoE heal, which shines in encounters with large amounts of raid damage going out on multiple people at once, some good examples are Void Reaver, Bloodboil and Felmyst, as well as numerous trash mobs.

Discipline Tree Talents in TBC ClassicCircle of Healing

Unbreakable Will

A 15% resist chance against all three CC types is tremendous, which makes this a must-have talent for both PvE and PvP.

Wand Specialization

Mainly a talent for early leveling and not much else.

Silent Resolve

While threat reduction in PvE is usually fairly useless, dispel resistance for your debuff is a great bonus for PvP.

Improved Power Word: Fortitude

A standard talent choice for PvE. Can technically be dropped in favour of Silent Resolve if necessary, since your Shadow Priest should usually have this talent.

Improved Power Word: Shield

A full 15% increase to your emergency spell is massive, especially considering the bad scaling of Power Word: Shield. Spec into this in every healing build.

Martyrdom

Similar to Power Word: Shield, this talent prevents you from suffering casting pushback whenever it procs. As it increases your interrupt effect resist chance, it's an outstanding addition to your PvP arsenal.

Meditation

Helps a lot with managing mana throughout long encounters. This talent is chosen universally in all builds.

Inner Focus

Provides great value for just one talent point, so there's no reason to skip it.

Absolution

Dispel Magic is bread and butter in PvP; therefore, this is one of the baseline talents for Disc PvP builds.

Improved Inner Fire

Can be very useful against Warriors and Rogues when you can guarantee the buff to stay up.

Mental Agility

With Priests using a large amount of instant casts regardless of their spec, this talent is great for any build.

Improved Mana Burn

Decreases Mana Burn cast time by a third, making it much more potent in Arena PvP. Yet another baseline PvP talent.

Mental Strength

Increases your total mana points by 10%. Mainly taken due to the lack of better alternatives and it being required for speccing into Power Infusion.

Improved Divine Spirit

Roughly a 200 raid DPS increase that comes at the cost of locking you out of Circle of Healing. Mainly worth considering when you are already overhealing raids or have more than enough AoE healers.

It is possible to buff IDS, respec CoH & get summoned back. This will allow all 24 other raiders (but not you) to keep the IDS buff for one hour; however, you won't be able to rebuff. This is very handy for speedruns without an IDS/Disc Priest.

Focused Power

This ability alone allows you to reach the hitcap against other players for all three spells it affects. Amazing for Arena PvP.

Force of Will

Improves damage output, but does not affect healing. Not particularly useful for most regular builds.

Focused Will

Critical strikes are abundant in PvP, even when accounting for the resilience mitigation. This talent procs often and greatly increases your self-healing capabilities.

Power Infusion

Power Infusion is a half-decent DPS cooldown, but does not stack with Heroism (only the mana reduction does stack) or Arcane Power.

Reflective Shield

Adds an offensive component to your Power Word: Shield. This is fantastic in PvP, and is still taken in PvE for the Pain Suppression build due to the lack of alternatives.

Enlightenment

A straightforward percentage-based increase to Stamina, Intellect and Spirit. Amazing for PvP, mediocre for PvE.

Pain Suppression

Peak talent for the Discipline tree. It is an amazing ability for PvP, where it can effectively save someone from being burst to death in a matter of seconds. A rule of thumb is that you should only go for this in PvE if you have a strong use-case in mind, as missing out on 20/23 Talent Points in the Holy Skill Tree compared to IDS/CoH significantly worsens your healing output & efficiency.

Shadow Tree Talents in TBC Classic

Spirit Tap

Amazing sustain talent for leveling and sologrinding, but not useful at all for raiding as a healer or PvPing.

Blackout

This effect procs extremely often, granting Priest some much needed crowd control. Performs great in Arena PvP and mitigates some damage while leveling.

Your explanation of the Imp DS spec is absolutely pathetic. It provides more DPS to a raid when healing is trivial. Find someone who isn't biased to write these guides.

So incredibly cringey

im not the one to usually throw shade here, im really not. I had to register to wowhead and complete all the steps to come here and say that this guide is so AI generated you wouldnt even want to follow this one, and im talking about the early AI that had hands and fingers for faces and looked like a nightmare.

PVP disc build is wrong completly, PVE build for all listed are also wrong, who ever made this were looking to grab easy commision or something while copypasting things. how did this get past any quality check in 2026
