Differences between Classic and The Burning Crusade

Two new Races were added to the game: Draenei for Alliance and Blood Elf for Horde.

The Alliance now have access to the Shaman Class and Horde gain access to the Paladins Class.

The Talent trees for every class have been extended by 10 points and now include powerful and iconic 41-point talents.

Class and Spec Diversity is greatly increased, niche specs like Protection Paladin and Enhancement Shaman are now PVE viable.

There are new Spells and new Spell Ranks as you level from 60-70.

New Secondary Stats have been added in TBC, and all Stats have been converted from percentages to dynamic rating.

Anniversary edition

Dual-Specialization will be available in TBCC Anniversary Servers.

The Shaman ability Bloodlust is now Raid-wide and not Party-wide, like it was originally in TBC.

Guild Banks will be introduced in TBCC Anniversary.

Ranged DPS classes include Hunter (Beast Mastery, Marksman, Survival), Mage (Arcane, Fire, Frost), Warlock (Affliction, Demonology, Destruction). It should be noted that although Hunter is a ranged DPS class, they are still a physical DPS class, unlike the rest of the ones mentioned, which are magic-based.

Melee DPS classes include: Rogue (Assassination, Combat, Subtlety), Warrior (Arms, Fury)

Hybrid Classes

Hybrid Melee classes include: Druid (Feral Combat), Paladin (Retribution), Shaman (Enhancement)

Druid - Night Elves are the only option.

Hunter - Draenei become a very valuable race choice for Hunters because they bring Heroic Presence, which gives your entire party 1% hit. Night Elves are also valued for their higher base agility. For PVP, Dwarves tend to be picked for Stoneform.

Mage - Human and Gnome are both strong.

Paladin - Draenei becomes a very valuable race choice for Paladins because they bring which gives your entire party 1% hit. Human is also good, especially for Protection and Retribution, because of and .

Priest - Draenei become a very valuable race choice for Hunters because they bring , which gives your entire party 1% spell hit. Human is strong due to The Human Spirit, and Dwarves are strong due to Stoneform.

Rogue - Human is best due to Sword Specialization and . Gnomes and Dwarves are also decent options because of their PVP racials in the form of Escape Artist and Stoneform, respectively.

Rogue - Orcs are the best race for Rogues due to the DPS cooldown Blood Fury, followed by Trolls, which also have the strong DPS racial Berserking and situational PvE racial Beast Slaying. Undead in PvP due to Will of the Forsaken.

Shaman - Trolls are preferable for healers and ranged DPS as Berserking increases cast and attack speed. For Melee, Orcs are preferable for the Blood Fury cooldown.

Warlock - Both Orc and Forsaken have strong PvP racials. The Orc racial Command also has use in solo and dungeon situations where you do not need to sacrifice your pet.

Warriors - Each race shines in different situations. Orcs are great DPS warriors due to Blood Fury and . Taurens have the powerful AoE stun via War Stomp, which is useful in dungeons. Trolls, due to the synergy of Berserking with , allowing efficient rage to threat conversion, are solid tanks in the end game. Undead, as usual, are very strong for PvP due to Will of the Forsaken.
