A terrible crime has been committed, Sire Denathrius has been murdered most foul in the latest Hearthstone cinematic trailer,
Murder at Castle Nathria
!
Of course, in our normal World of Warcraft timeline, the players were responsible for Sire Denathrius' demise during the final encounter in the Castle Revendreth raid. His essence survives though, absorbed into the sentient sword, Remornia, which is
locked away inside a pillar of light within the Dawnkeep
until such a time that the corrupted Sire of Revendreth might be redeemed. Hearthstone rarely follows the main timeline of WoW though, and in this story our murder mystery begins after an innocent dinner party at Castle Nathria, in which the good Sire Denathrius has invited dignitaries from across the Shadowlands. One of his guests is hiding a secret however, a grand betrayal which will influence the elements of the newest Hearthstone expansion.

, featuring Hearthstone Game Designers Liv, Cora, and Valerie explaining some of the new cards and game mechanics featured in Murder at Castle Nathria, such as Clues, Locations, and Anima. The game is afoot, starting August 2nd 2022!
