Apparently this item will work to allow people to always get some progression towards being able to do the Shartuul event, instead of getting more Apexis Shards or Crystal Focus all the time, which can be disappointing (not to mention having an empty bag as reported here - can't speak about this since it gladly never happened to me).

This item is unique and can stack up to 5, but it only takes 4 of them to create a new Darkrune.

You get it by doing banishing the demons:(I think u need to be Honored to get it) https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=11051. When you hand it in you get a bag which has a chance of having a darkrune, or a darkrune fragment.

Getting 5 of these allows you to turn them into a Darkrune, handing in a darkrune allows you to get a Crystalforge darkrune. A crystal forge Darkrune allows you to do the Shartuul event
