I belive it's very unfair that some people ask for so many mony for this. It's like if they say: 'hey, give me ------- gold nd i give u the permission to buff me with half of ur mana nd using a reagent. deal?'.
I dont't say that they should not ask for money, but not ask for more money then it should need if learned from a trainer.

LOL wow. People need to stop being so ridiculous about these prices. The drop rate was so low b/c of the mass surge of people constantly killing the same units. Doesn't make it expensive....it makes it so it doesn't drop 1 billion times. If you think I'm paying 200g to buff other people you got another thing coming.

anyone know if you need rank 1 before u can learn rank 2? i'd assume that you would since that's the way it is with everything else but one can hope since no one runs lvl 60 azeroth instances.

I agree with one of the statements made above. I play mage too and as long as im expected to give free buffs in raids etc im not gonna pay anything for this, so as previous mage stated, until then all is stuck with arcane bril rank 1!

I'm sorry but anything more than 50g for a BUFF SPELL is pathetic... I had to pay for lvl 70 water and food, and you know what, that's fine, being as I can benefit from it... but I would rather buff with AI or rank 1 AB if I'm in a hurry... best case scenario rank 1 is only, what, 135 less mana for a priest or mage, and less for other classes (9 int difference). While I would love to have this spell for my group you can bet I'm not paying for it at that 200+g price. I've been using rank 1 AB for a while now and no one has complained about it yet, and if they did I'd tell them to farm it for me. Sorry but I can think of better things to spend my gold on than a group buff.

I load up with arcane powder at my expense, and buff everyone with Arcane Brilliance 1, then I buff myself with the regular 40 AI, and then I buff the healer with 40 AI. So far, everyone has been happy. I tell everyone to open a trade window if they want my glacier water - because it's not easy chasing players around trying to get them water on demand.
But, it's embarrassing to me not to have AB#2. I spend all my money trying to keep up with upgrades (cry cry). Hopefully in the future I may get a drop and all things will be equal.
Don't forget, you guys get free portals too, and that's a gold coin a week at least.
And for those that hate Mages, I can understand...we are doing like 1100 damage per second (total damage per hit/2.5 seconds per cycle), and that's cool.

I will /agree with all of the above on this one. I saw one on AH yesterday for 100g. Spent 70g in skills 10g for Food tome, 30g for water tome, but I will not pay anything over 30g for this. As everyone has said. It is not for me. It is for group. Ya I can single target buff everyone for 41 int, but u better be ready to wait for me to drink up as full group single buffs completely depletes my mana pool. O.. ya .. I have to drain my pool two times before that just to conjure enough water for 3 ppl to have 2 stacks. So go take a bio and get a drink take a nap while ur waiting for me .. or give me the book for free. GGTHXNORE

Man they are all right. I mean all the Mages out there work there butts off to help the groups but and half the time we get no "thank you". We give you free portals, stacks of water and stacks of food, BUT no we have to pay over 30gold TO GET A Tome of Arcane Brilliance 2. My mage might be level 60 but come on i looked for other tomes i might need and i saw one that i could so use but it was over 1000gold and it wasn't even worth that much. So all who think mages are the stupidest class in the game, come crying to us when your in the middle of no where and your hearth is still in its cooldown and a mage passes you and you ask for a portal wait till we say "Pay me". I am not saying that mages are the best class ever I am just saying that we could use some respect ok so to all mages out there stand proud and if someone needs a portal, food or water give it to them but ask for a thanks in return.

Like all the others, I to agree with all of the above. I play a 70 mage and i'm amazed by how many people expect free portals and food and water. After paying 35g for the latest food and 40g for the latest water, I no longer give it out for free. They can complain all they want but I didn't see anyone helping me out with the tomes that are going to benefit them more than they will me. Untill they do, 1g per portal and 1g per double stack of water. I think all mages should make that the standard.

Rogue here, and what little I need from mages, I pay them for all the time. I picked one of these up the other night, and every blasted mage from here to kingdom come blasted me on Trade when I threw out a Price check. I'm sorry you can't get one of these free from yer respective guilds, but don't attack people trying to make a profit. That said, I would doll this out for free to a mage friend or guildmate needing it, but that said, buy it from the AH if you keep charging people for food, water, and overcharge for portals. You should have the money, greed mongers.(Which is what every mage on my server does anyways).

Maybe its expensive to buy tomes but get over it. If you got something for another class I bet you'd sell it for a lot too. Yes it may be a little overpriced but get over it. I have a 70 mage and I give food, water and ports for free. I have never charged anyone for them. No point in &*!@#ing about how people want food or water because there are many things you want from other people. Would you like to go through instances unbuffed because you didn't want to give someone food or water?

well i must say i can feel the love lol. I have every class of toon (horde and uhg aliance)and most are 70 and paying 100 g for a group buff is stupid yup i saved a ton of money making my own food, water and not buying a lvl 2 spell for 100 gold.

First of all, let me say I play a 70 mage so if anyone says they don't know what i'm talking about and don't play a mage, I know more than them.

I know its annoying when your standing in the middle of IF or oggrimar or some city and someone comes up to you and asks you for food/water/portal. I also used to charge gold.

For me, I don't give a rats ass anymore. With ritual of refreshment, I just inv another random dude and tell him to get the mats for it, same as portals. It's free, technically.

And any mage who decide that they musn't buy this for raids/heroic instances is a downright noob. I'm not saying that you HAVE to buy this for 100g, but I bought mine for 60g, and both tomes of food water for 40g. Getting money in outland is easy as hell. One day of daily's gives me about 60g. So stop %^&*!ing and get it, trust me, people will not inv you into some groups over a mage cuz you can't give a 1 hr int buff.

EDIT; Also think about if you weren't a mage, how would you like it if all other mages were like yourself..

Today AB2 is 36g, Conjure water IX is 217g and there aren't any Conjure Food VIII... I can tell you this--anyone that wants free food and water, should think about what it takes to get it... I don't do free for anyone other than guildies (or BG groups) anymore...

I have to agree with this.

As a raid healer and a Guild Leader, all of these books have gotten donated to the guild vault by members (no promptong required) with the intention of giving it to the mage we use the most.

We want to get better gear and if giving up 200g or whatever people sell it for means that we can get T4, T5 sets, it seems a good trade imo.

We NEED these buffs on us during a raid and mages NEED these books to be able to give the buff. Kinda makes sense to give it to a mage free of charge imo.

Never had a mage charge me 200g for an arcane brilliance buff.

Mana Wraith in Netherstorm dropped one in Netherstorm. Not saying to farm them (though they're alright for motes of mana), I can at least confirm they exist in classic outside of raid drops.
