This will contain one or two simple greens, and some water/food as well. Unfortunately, it is all low level items (ex: i got some Sweet Nectar, lvl25 water, at lvl52).

It will also contain "Black Dragonflight Molt" (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=10575) which is used for a BRD quest. Keep it stashed away in your bank for future use, since the only other source is to kill a 54 elite Dragon in Burning Steppes.

If you dont get the molt from another source, just talk to the quest giver again. There will be an option that says "I do not have proof" or something like that. Click that, and he will send you a Black Dragon to fight, kill it and take the Molt. The Dragon was easy, I took it solo at 53. Oh yeah, and the quest giver is in the cave to the NE.

I received a Black Duskwood Staff from mine, which was a nice little suprise even though I was level 57 when I completed this quest.

Nice loot in there, got a couple greens, a blue, and a bunch of mold. Yeah, mold. DELICIOUS CAVE MOLD. :(
Also that molting, I think it's used in Burning Steppes to pass that one guy's 'test' of killing a dragon.

It would be so helpful if some of you people would say where this chest is instead of bragging only about what is in it. Don't you think? Since all I am interested in is the molt itself for a quest, I would like to know where to find it.

Mine contained a Scorpion Sting (blue lv 34 1h sword), and an Infiltrator Cap of the Monkey...not too shabby. =p

My first character got 2 blues and 2 greens, along with some random junk. I just completed it with another character, and all I got was a green level 34 belt of the owl and some useless food. This chest has a pretty wide range in terms of item quality. The preceding quests give great exp though, so it's not a total waste if you get shafted on items.
