yeah bind all ur main abilities to things like q e ` 1 2 3 4 t g v (maybe x or whatever if you're running out of keys) use shift modifiers too i tend to use shift 1 2 3 and t for cooldowns
i binded my a and d to strafe left and right and i turn with mouse as you should
some binds i use are like
1 snd
2 muti
3 evis
4 rupture
shift 1 cold blood
shift 2 sprint
shift 3 pvp trinket
g kick
q dismantle
` shiv
t stealth
shift t vanish
v blind
e gouge
shift e kidney
just use whatever suits you really. a very easy way to bind your bars is to download bartender4, probably the simplest way to bind everything as i used to be in your situation coming from a pve background.
hope this may have helped you.

Mine are like this since vanilla, changing of course with the introduction of new abilities:
1: Slice and Dice.
2: Shiv.
3: Eviscerate.
4: Mutilate.
5: Deadly Throw.
6: Rupture.
T: Kick.
E: Gouge.
Q: Kidney Shot.
Shift+T: Cooldown ability, usually Blade Flurry or Preparation, but nowadays as I'm mutilate I don't have anything spec-specific to put there, so that spot goes to Dismantle.
Shift+E: Feint or Premeditation, when I'm subtlety specced.
Shift+Space: Stoneform.
Ctrl+1: Cooldown ability, Cold Blood nowadays.
Ctrl+2: Cooldown ability, Hunger for Blood.
Ctrl+3: Cloak of Shadows.
Mouse Wheel: Sprint (forward), Evasion (back) and Blind (click).
F: Stealth.
Shift+F: Vanish (whenever it works, meh).
½: Focus on current target.
G and Shift-G: Trinkets.
R: Shadowstep, when I'm subtlety specced.
This works pretty well for me, allows me to reach everything pretty easily. Hope it will give you some inspiration :)

This is how I set up my keybinding on all my characters, my rogue is only level 11 at the moment...
General and Movement keys-
Strafe Left- F
Strafe Right- S
Move Forward- E
Move Backward- D
(I mouse turn)
Autorun- F5
Set target as Focus- F4
Vent talk key- F6
Spells-
I use A and Q as spammable or instant attacks, ex: A is Sinister Strike on my Rogue, and Fire Blast on My Mage.
Other keys I use for spells that I need to use while still strafing are: X, C, V, B, and N, which I reach with my thumb.
Keys like W, R, T, G, 4, 5, and 6, I use for spells that I cast stationary, or for cooldowns. Ex: R is frostbolt on my mage.
Oh and I save myself from having to use modifiers by using my mousewheel for spells and the back and forward mouse buttons on the side of my mouse.
Its not the best method, I have 2 or 3 spells I dont have keybinded- Icy Veins and Frost and Fire Ward, but its comfortable to play with, I dont know how people play in pvp with keybindings like- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, shift-1, shift-2, shift-3, shift-4, shift-5, shift-6, shift-7, shift-8, etc.

I use WASD for movement, and the ten key for the actual spells/abilities. The little finger on my left hand is positioned right by the left shift key, so I have 24 different binds, all without taxing my far less than 1337 keyboarding skills. :D The zero key on the pad is for targeting, and my left thumb is on the space bar for jumping. What I'm working on now is my rotation.
I'm not suggesting that this is perfect or even desirable, but may be a good layout for anyone who lacks manual dexterity and doesn't want to chase all over the keyboard or have to try to juggle the shift and ctrl keys. It's made a night and day difference in my playing.
Also I like the above poster's idea of a standalone pad. Two ten keys and you could do anything, I think.

I only do PvE but I have a slightly unique set up.
I have middle mouse set to toggle mouselook (like an FPS) so I can look around without holding down the right mouse button, I then use mouse wheel up/down to switch between targets.
What this lets me do is assign left click to Mutilate and right click to Dispatch freeing up two keyboard keys. I have one of my side mouse buttons bound to a stealth/vanish macro so I can toggle stealth from there. With all the CP builders and stealth toggle it frees up all keys apart from movement to finishing moves and panic buttons and I never need to use modifiers :)
