Another easy way to get mats is to just get a group of good people from your guild, and farm normal ToC. You'll get 5 Abyss Crystals per run, (given that nobody else needs the gear!) giving you a good amount of mats from Abyssal Shatter.

I have an alt with tailoring. I do the SoH dailies and the tourament dailies on two toons, send profits to tailor with all the greens. While running heroics I can gather a few greens. I got many greens from just questing up to 80 and getting Loremaster of Northrend. When I think they are taking too much bagspace I have them blown up. For tips I give the enchanter the shards.
Sometimes I scan the AH for greens being sold for a few gold, and have those disenchanted. Maybe I get low on cloth and I just grind whichever NPC for hours.
If I get desperate, my main keeps borean leather stockpiled. I can turn a few stacks in several greens to have blown up.
Any crafting profession can make greens. Tailoring seems to work the best if you want to be able to help yourself more. The same mobs that give frostweave cloth can give greens. The cloth can made into more greens result in more materials for enchanting.

You go to the AH and buy cheap greens. You know they are cheap because you use Auctioneer and it tells you if you can make a profit off of disenchanting the item.
Great point. When I have a little while to play the AH, I simply look at the buyouts on greens and blues and compare them to the disenchant value. Anything that's selling for a few gold less than disenchant value gets purchased and mailed to my enchanter. I know some items won't produce their disenchant value, but others will exceed it; the law of averages says I'll make money after I've followed this method for a while.
Damn your smart.
I really hope that was intentional.
