This is now pretty much a DPS fight because she will stack a debuff (Mark of Solarian) on the raid that reduces your AR that cannot be dispelled. It will contiously stack on the raid throughout the duration of the fight, the more stacks the less likely you are to survive.

As of now you only need 2 Arcane Resist tanks (sponges) with 500 AR unbuffed. The rest of the raid doesn't need AR, because it cuts DPS.

She is tauntable, but taunting her is now useless because she's very much like Aran, where her aggro is random. She will choose random targets to cast Arcane Missles onto including snakes and pets. Taunting her when she's channeling this will not switch the damage to the tank, she will ignore the taunt and continously fire at her present target. Thus making her untankable.

After 50 seconds, she will vanish, then 3 portals will spawn. Out of each portal will come 4 non-elite adds (Solarium Agents). They have aproxx. 20k hp, and hit for 500 on plate. 15 Seconds later Solarian, and 2 priests (Solarium Priests) will walk out of the portals. The priests have 75k hp,heal for about 22k, cast a Holy Smite and do an AoE silence, much like the Blood Elf racial. They can be silenced, stunlocked, (feared?) and must not be allowed to heal.

Her worst ability is the Wrath of the Astromancer, which places an arcane DoT on a random person, which ticks for 600 a sec for 8 seconds. Afterwards it will leave a debuff and jump to the next closest person. The DoT damage increases as the Mark of Solarian debuff stacks on the raid. This is why you have the AR tanks, who should be sitting next to each other away from the raid. If someone contracts the DoT, they need to run to the tanks, make sure they are only close to one (because the DoT might jump off from the other tank onto you) let the dot jump off, and run back to the raid before you get another.

At 20% she will turn into a giant void walker. She can be tanked now, and will fear people within melee range. Every 10 seconds she will cast Void Bolt, which is a shadow bolt that does 5k to her present target. At this point of the fight you've pretty much won

Apart from the arcane dmg the explosion deals, drops every raid member within 10-12 yd to the air like 50 or more yd :). Everyone not having some slow fall hability would die.

Easiest boss in TK as of 2.3. If your guild can down VR, you can easily down Astromancer, just let them know that bombs wipe raids. You do not need ANY arcane resist whatsoever anymore.

The trash is harder then she is, and im 100% serious.

No she is hard. Most because if one person can't move away from the raid, its a wipe. Its like Magtheridon. If one person dn't click a cube, raid will die.. And one person can wipe the whole raid several times for screwing up.

Solarian will occasionally attempt to melee whoever is highest on threat. Basically how it works is she will randomly choose a target for arcane missiles, however in the split second between casts, she will attempt to melee whoever would normally have aggro. In the event that this is a caster, she will move a little bit.

As a DPS warrior, she can crush me for 8k, and one of our rogues reported 10k.

To help prevent this, you can either have your tank(s) spam taunt whenever it is up to try and stay on top of aggro, or you can try and actually "tank" her using a Feral Druid in DPS gear.

Another thing we have tried that may help is to remove Salvation from your shadow priests, and encourage them to generate as much aggro as possible.

My guild killed her last night on our first night of tries. She's very easy, as long as people learn to get the freak away when they get wrath, and get the adds under control, she's dead. For the healers, here's a macro to help you quickly heal the target of her Arcane Bolts, as they do 9000 damage over 3 seconds if she is not taunted away.

I have the macro reset the focus every time because when she disappears to summon adds, your focus is cleared and needs to be reset. Also, make sure only healers with a fast (1.5sec) heal are assigned to this, and have the rest ffa on the raid.

We downed her on our 2nd or 3rd attempt. They key is to bring strong dps, place quick heals on the arcane missile target and to have no one blow up the raid.
2-3 priests or palladins should be on missile duty - assist Solarian, then cast quick heals as in the macro above.
Everyone should have a tool such as deadly boss mods installed so they have a very clear warning when they need to run away from the raid. Either straff or fight facing away from the raid so you don't waste time turning. Do not run towards the tanks.

Yeah, thats what I use on rage winterchill to heal the one that gets ice trapped, never used it on Solarian, but should work nicely :D

Pretty solid macro for Solarian, use it to target Solarian and focus on her. From that point as long you hit the macro without using any modifier keys (shift/alt/ctrl) you will allways heal Solarians target! If you hold down a modifier key and use the macro you will focus on a new target and then heal that new targets target instead!

Personally I just click it once and spam it to keep heals up on the people getting the Arcane Missiles and it's a win! If you are another class just replace Lesser Healing Wave with some other healing spell of yours! ;)

Does anyone know the MPQ files for this boss, because according to wowwiki she says something as she goes into void mode, and they weren't with the rest of the solarian mpqs

If you're an Engineer and don't trust some of your people not to move fast enough when they're the bomb, Parachute Cloak can save your life in this fight.

Teleport: Every 50 seconds, Solarian will teleport away and spawn 12-15 Solarium Agents. After 15 seconds, she will return together with two Solarium Priests. this links are borken they are missing the ? before the npc=<npcnumbers> if a admin could fix it :)

Did this fight last weekend. Found that once your raid gets the bomb coordination down it's a fairly simple fight. I was assigned to heal the missiles (priest +2200 healing) and noticed while she is channeling she will target several people including pets.

I used
/focus High Astromancer Solarian
/cast Flash of Light(rank 7)
I originally tried rank 9 but it ate my mana way to fast. I will most likely try rank 6 next time. I prefer the focus style which allows me to target others if needed. Target and focus are lost when she vanishes making the macro that much more helpfull.

(oh btw, the whole time I healed I was saying to myself "priest are not suppose to flash heal a raid") I think this is an exception to that rule :)

Her hitbox is HUGE and keep this in mind if you're playing a melee character as it will help you a lot with running out to avoid others getting killed.

I'm under the impression that Solarian does not like me. Don't get me wrong I've downed her several times, but the last time...

1. We engage, she immediately uses Wrath on me.
2. I Start running away and I explode.
3. She uses Blinding Light

Now at this time I should be barely alive (~1K hp left)

4. I die in midair.

I was totally confused, but then I saw arcane missiles hitting my body.

Obviously shes abusing steroids, how else would she be so huge. I'm calling the WoW boss commissioner to get this settled.

High Astromancer Solarian is a boss in The Eye of Tempest Keep. She is positioned in the "Right Wing" of the instance, just through the tunnel on the right past A'lar's room. Lots of guilds pick her as the third boss to do in the instance. As of patch 2.2, her encounter has been greatly retuned, and many sources claim (and I feel the same) that she is now very easy.

First and foremost, you need to clear her room of all the mob packs, then you can engage Solarian, who's standing in the middle of the huge circular room. Despite the size of this room, most of the encounter will take place on and around the central disk.

When you first encounter her, she'll switch in between her "normal" phase and "portal" phase, I'll list the details of these two phases below.

Normal phase abilities

Arcane Missiles: Even though she does have an aggro list, she'll almost always just spam her arcane missiles at a random target, which hits 3 times for 3k arcane damage each time. Most of your raid could probably survive a hit, and healing through this should not be hard; therefore, you should maximize your dps by NOT wearing arcane resistance gear. Since she does target totems / pets, having them out might help to absorb the damage.

Melee: Her melee is a joke, while not necessary, you could keep a tank on her to absorb the hits. However, even clothies could survive her melee, and she doesn't do it often. Because of this, go all out on Solarian on the outright.

Light of the Astromancer: Whenever she is up in her BE form, she'll randomly cast this debuff on a player in your raid. The person with the debuff will have 5-6 seconds to move away from EVERYONE in the raid. After 5-6 seconds, the person will blow up for around 5-6k arcane damage and will be thrown high into the air. The targeted person will not take fall damage, but since the explosion is an AOE, everyone that's near him/her (15 yards) will get hit and thrown up in the air. The people hit by the AOE, however, will take 100% fall damage, a guaranteed death. It is of your highest priority, then, to make sure that whoever gets this debuff run away from the raid group as fast and as far as they can (keeping him/her topped off of course). If a tank gets it (just to keep her in place, I guess), have either the melee run out or the tank run out (easier). May I add that the person with the debuff will have a glowing purple shield around them, and will emit purple bolts of lightning all around them (with loud sound effects), so it is VERY obvious who has the debuff.

Blinding Light: She occasionally AOEs the raid with 2k damage, nothing big.

About once every 50 seconds, she'll disappear, and 3 portals will spawn (2 randomly around the perimeter of the central circle, one in the middle). Out of these portals will first come around 12 adds. They have a small amount of health, and hit for only around 1k on cloth. However, due to their number, you must control them with AOE taunts, frost traps, earthbind totems, and any other movement impairing abilities you have. Have your locks spam seeds on them then the mages AOE pop the seeds.

Around 15 seconds after they spawn (not die), 2 priest adds and Solarian herself will come up. These priests melee very very lightly, but will heal themselves, each other, and Solarian herself. Put all your melee interrupts on them and prevent them from casting even a single heal. Once the pack is AOE'd down, take down these priests (~80k hp). After all adds are down, continue dps'ing Solarian. It is very important to note that once she has come up, regardless of how many adds you have up, she'll begin casting Light of the Astromancer again, so make sure everyone's aware.

For this first rotating phase, have everyone stand on top of each other so that the person with the debuff could run out easily. Full out dps on Solarian once you engage, and just spot heal whoever she randomly targets. Be mindful of the hp of the person that has the debuff, she does do an AOE, and a combination of her abilities could prove deadly.

Once she goes into portal phase, move your entire raid so that you're decently far away from the portals. Have everyone cast their movement impairing abilities, and AOE the adds down. Just be mindful of when Solarian spawns.

Basically you rinse and repeat these 2 phases until she gets to 20%, at which time she'll transform into a giant voidwalker. You will need a tank then, but the whole encounter turns into a tank and spank. She... it? chain casts void bolts at the person highest in aggro, and does nothing else. If you have a tank up, a few healers up, and some dps up, you've got the fight. 20% to 0 is, for the lack of a better word, a joke.

She is, without a doubt, a one-night learning experience. We tried her and downed her within the hour. Gratz on phat lootz ;p.

Easiest boss ever... simple cluster together and stay that way

if your tanks and mages/locks are halfdecent adds should die in secs... the healing adds should just be taken by the offtanks and the avaiable rogues... basically unless someone is daft to "BOMB" the raid I cant seee how you can !@#$ this easy boss up... my guild killed her first try, GL

One little thing to add...when the adds come, have a hunter drop a snake trap. This may help out your healers. Last night she targeted 2 of the snakes from one of our hunters' traps. It took us a night to learn this fight as well.

BTW there is a add-on for this fight. It turns your screen blue when your the "bomb". Also DBM has warning.

Yes, it is possible to PUG her. I PUG'd her last night on Gorefiend.

This being said, the people in your raid need to know WTF they are doing and need to understand each fight before you start the fight or else you will wipe.

FYI, Gorefiend has PUGs for Kara, Gruul, Mag, SSC, and TK. I personally have never been in a SSC or TK to completion, but people do it.
