Probably feeding a troll here but, meh.
now i wonder if a resto drood would be able to do it too just cause resto droods are op as a healer class
No healer is "op". Some healers are better in certain situations than others, no healer is "op" everywhere.
is the heal meter so god damn important?
No.
i get proper battered in the heal meters by resto droods.
You get proper english too, please. Druids tend to snipe lots of healing because they just spam HoTs all over the group/raid.

as a holy priest with 5588 gs
Stopped reading the OP right there. No one gives a &*!@ what your gearscore is, an armoury link is far more useful.

I play all 4 heals. I have the hardest time in HoR as my paladin, but it's not hard. The easiest class i heal that on is my druid.
The only reason why it's easiest on it is because of blanket hotting. I simply rejuv everyone, and fully hot the tank depending on how much damage he takes in. I have swiftmend ready for anybody who might accidentaly get insta-gibbed, and i can nourish spam the tank in case he takes insane amounts of damage (for when he occasionally gets stunned). They also can cleanse the poisons (Abolish, cast it once and forget it. I typically roll it on everyone during each wave.) so that makes the inc damage much less dangerous. As far as hots ticking and pulling initial aggro, i've never had that problem. The only hots ticking at the beginning of my pull are rejuv on the tank, and that's easily picked up by Thunderclap/BloodBoil or DnD/Swipe/Consecrate. I apply the rest of my hots quickly after he picks up initial aggro on the adds and stay los until &*!@ leaves me alone.
The damage that goes out everywhere in HoR is much less noticeable as a druid since your hots are always ticking.
On another note, GS means nothing. If the queue lets you in H HoR, you can heal it as long as you are competent. If you can finish it is another question and is reliant on the rest of your party isn't dumb and dps pulls 3.5k+dps. Your healing meters also mean nothing unless bosses aren't getting killed. Resto druids float hots which pads their meters, but a lot of it is overheal that they cannot control. Their healing comes in steady, and they cannot react to spike damage like we can.
Different classes, different strokes. Each healing class handles each encounter differently than another, and as long as they're doing what they're made for, then meters matter naught.
Wall of Text, i'm sorry x.x

So on my third read of the OP....I am thinking either hotheaded teenager, or troll......
We are getting far enough along in the expansion that no one healer is "over powered". The idea that fights are designed to compliment one style of healing or another is CRAP, and imho is only an argument for people who aren't willing to try anything new with their class in order to solve the problems of a fight.
Heck I remember that it was only about 6 months ago when the Shield spam idea even got traction as a honest raid healing method in 25man raids, now people have worked out the gearing needs of it so that it can even get effective in 10 man raids.
Priests of all the healers should be the ones who take difficult or challenging fights and say "okay, what in my toolbox of 11 spells (not including spec specific) can i use more of or better to get through this" When it came to PoS I found out that actually focusing on dispelling the fire debuff on the ramp from the melee can prevent so much damage to them that It is much better to do that than actively heal with a GCD. When damage is focused on the tank it is usally the right thing to always launch the PoM at the tank, but if AoE damage is more plentiful, I actually shoot it at the ranged peeps, and let it finds its way back to the tank by charge 5...BINDING HEAL for goodness sake. two FH's for the GCD of one? anybody? Sure these changes to gameplay can be tough to put into effect, and even harder to realize, but that should be the thrill of healers...to figure out how to solve these problems....
P.S. disc healers on VDW are currently seen as gimped and are appropiately shifted to the minimal raid healing needed for that "boss" fight. However, I fail to see how that same disc priest can't sandwhich a GH onto the dragon inbetween every PWS he puts onto the raid and not get the same number of GH's onto the dragon as the holy priest spamming FHx3 ->GH.....let alone go on pure GH spam whenever Power infusion comes off CD....
