Why should I stay engineering?

I'm a lvl 80 protection Paladin. I origionally went engineering for the cool tank goggles, as they are something I can get myself. However, looking at the tempered titansteel helm, it's not much diff then my goggles, if not better with more stam. Blizz plans to remove consumable ammo, killing the bullet market. The only interesting thing to sell would be a chopper, which is a stupid amount of money to make to begin with. The planned exclusive +800 armor to gloves enchant is not wowing me when I can get much better perks from going back to blacksmithing or taking up jewlcrafting. Other then my roflecopter? what's to stop me?

The do? I heard that they will remove the speed bonus from quivers/pouches, but ...the actual bullets? So what the hunters are going to use? Some universal one-ammo-for-all type ?And what about the damage bonuses from different quality of ammo?
Pretty sure you just buy the arrow/bullet, and it's a single equip item. It's no longer going to be consumed by shooting. Good change for hunters, bad news for an already low gold yield profession.

They scrapped that idea. The things they changed are that quivers are gone but hunters retain the 15% haste bonus, and that ammo stacks in 1000.

Yeah they scrapped the eternal-infinite ammo, FOR THE MOMENT, because they could not implement it this patch. But in a near futur (3.2 most likely) it will be reality.

Why is there no limit to thrown weapons and you only have to buy one, whereas for ranged ammo, you constantly have to keep buying more?
There is. Thrown weapons use their durability as ammo. If it breaks, you're out of ammunition.
The change to bullets could be a simple one. Make an ammuntion item, and do like thrown weapons: give it durability. Problem solved.

idk the only real perk for yourself would be the engineering enchants
You also get unique mounts and the epic guns

If I was a warrior tank, I'd probably have stayed due to the

but unfortunately, paladins have no ude for guns, and there was never any sign of adding something for us to use. (Special libram?)
I have since dropped Engineering now and taken to leveling jewlcrafting. I was originally a blacksmith when I started this character, but just couldn't go through leveling that a second agonizing time. JCing is surprisingly easy to level so far, thanks to the prof power leveling guide stuck in this board
