So I made a post a couple of weeks ago asking how I should go about reaching the hit cap to make myself less than horrid in a raid environment.
I hit 80 on Thursday of last week, and immediately went about getting everything that I could on my own. I had a guildie that wanted me to craft his girlfriend some mail gear for her recently dinged 80 Shaman, so he sponsored me with massive amounts of leather.
Here's
my armory profile for your viewing pleasure, as well as a
link to my build to see where I stand on that front.
It took a bit of tweaking to come to settle on that particular build, and I'm still at odds with certain aspects of it. For example, I'm under the impression that
Wyvern Sting is more of a PvP type talent? Granted, it has some excellent use as a CC ability in the PvE area as well, but it just seems more PvPish to me, but I dunno.
That being said, the few pieces that I've got from Naxx (the helm and the neck) were more or less forced on me by the raid leader—no objections, of course—and before I got those pieces, I was putting out around 1,800 to 2,000 DPS overall.
So here's what I'm looking at so far as feedback (of course, feel free to comment more on other things):
- I have 322 hit rating, so I can thus lose 59 hit and still be on the hit cap. I'm pretty sure that one of the stickies covered something where our pets get a whole number version of our hit, and it's rounded down, but I haven't taken that into account with the 59 figure. I'm thinking about dropping the dual Titanium Weapon Chain (sacrificing 56 hit) and putting either the AP or AGI enchants on the Fangs.
- Another piece of loot I got that I haven't yet equipped (and again, forced on by the raid leader) was The Stray. After looking at it for a bit, I can't really see how it'd be much of a true upgrade, seeing as it loses some agility and hit rating, but gains some AP and haste. Should I swap it in for a Fang, or just keep things as is?
And things I'm already aware of, and am working on:
- The shoulders and trinkets need to be replaced something quite fierce. I'll be starting up the Shadow Vault dailies sometime here in the next day or so, so the shoulders should come pretty quick, and the trinkets are just a matter of getting some emblems/proper heroic runs.
- I'm missing head and shoulder enchants. Again, I'll be starting the Shadow Vault dailies here in the next day or so, and then once all those are unlocked, I'll start doing the Hodir dailies as well.
Anyway, again: any insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Had to complete an incomplete thought, lulz.

I'm not gonna critisice your gear. Just your talents ;)
Scatter Shot is a true PvP talent. You shouldn't take it. You take Wyvren Sting so you can take Noxious Stings, why increases totat damage done by 3% when Serpent Sting is on the target. You keep that up right? 2 points in Expose Weakness is enough to keep it up all the time, so you probably don't need more. Sniper Training (atm) isn't so good, but the little increase is better than any talent to fill to up till you can get Explosive Shot. You don't need 5 points in Improv. AotH. 1 or 2 will do (if you have the glyph). Having 3 points in Improv. Stings is (almost) needed for nice dps. It will result in
this spec. If 1 point in GftT is enough, put that other point in Improv. AotH.
Lose the Weapon Chains. You are still 3 hit rating over the needed amount, so your fine. An agility enchant like
Exception Agility is a huge boost (52 agilty if on both weapons)
