Scorch works especially well with Impact. A lot of time you just don't have time to cast fireballs in arena/bgs. Just make sure to get talents that complement it like Ignite and Flamethrowing.

I think that scorch spamin spec is great for trash or long fights since you the epic illhoof trinket and a high crit chance. Im that spec atm 34/27/0. And im usually top 3 dmg in raids. Just spam scorch and imp fire blast and fast scorch give you electrical charges. about 40 % crit chance with fire should work great and you are something usefull for raid since you update the scorch debuffs. Imo good spec.

Definitely, you don't want to use fireball because sometimes you won't hit the flare until it's dead already with the longer cast time. I use the macro:
/tar astral
(think that's the name...)
/cast Scorch
for maximum efficiency, that way you never have to target them and begin your cast immediately (unless one isn't up or it's time to dps Curator).
