Just looking for a quick answer before I respec my Horde SP to Disp to help with guild runs as a healer.
I've heard conflicting reports that Bliz has fixed the issue with Druid and Warrior tanks gaining Rage while shielded. Is this working now in that they still gain rage although the damage was blocked and if so where can I point others to that don't believe me?
Thanks in advance, and yes I checked the PVE Disp Priest post up top with no answer.

They're fixing it in 3.1.
Although it really isn't much of an issue now. Our warrior tank has no rage problem in raids even if I'm shielding him willy-nilly.

Warrior/Druid tanks that have rage problems due to (even the current) Power Word: Shield... suck.
That's right, I've kept shields up on many different tanks and only the truly horrible ones that don't understand efficient rotations and threat management had any problems.
If your tank complains about rage through the shield, get a new tank.

As I understand it, warriors and druids
are
currently suffering from reduced rage due to Power Word: Shield, but this will be changed in 3.1 to allow rage to generate through absorption effects. This should, however, not affect their threat levels.
If your tanks are complaining about rage generation due to your shields, they are indeed correct... but their threat generation is actually not affected by your shield unless, for example, you cast your shield on the tank between the moment of the pull and the moment they make contact with the mobs. The threat you generate from casting the shield itself (especially if it's glyphed) will be slight, but it may be enough to aggro the mobs if they haven't been picked up yet by the tank.

The problem lies in how we warriors generate rage, druids too to an extent. As a warrior when my gear gets better, my rage problems get worse since I gain 0 rage from dodges and parries. It's pretty common for a well geared warrior to be rage starved most of the time. In a raid its another story, bosses hit so hard its rarely a problem.
From my experience as a disc priest with a warrior guild mt, I totally agree with this. Our tank has excellent mitigation, especially dodge, and if I PW:S him on trash the shield will usually outlast the Weakened Soul debuff.
Seems that as of now the rage issues scale with gear, both his and mine. Strong bubbles plus high mitigation will lead to rage issues.

This happened in BC as well and was also a problem for Paladins and their mana. The recommendation was, if you outgeared a dungeon and were having mana/rage issues, to simply remove your pants.
Usually that much was enough to let you take a few more hits without it being too damaging to the run.
So, to all you warriors still complaining about rage inside the shield, drop your pants. ^_~
