What level are you?
One could conclude that you are a new, fledgling warrior seeking to learn more about their choice of weapons.
One of the first things you must do is head to the weapons trainer in your capital city. Ask a guard, they can help you further.
The differences between the two-handed & one-handed sword are simple. Bigger weapons deal more damage, but are also heavier. You can see how this works in-game with even the simplest weapons.
Here's an example:
Worn Shortsword
Note the speed & damage, these directly dictate the DPS (damage per second)
Battleworn Claymore
The stats for this one are superior, even for such low quality weapons.
