Adams' chars decided to intervene and act tough.
Morec is with Taelani, Russel and Dawn acting as usual.
Dawn is clinging to Taelani and looking obscenely helpless.
Ga'Crane - under his human alias Charles Garold Rutherford - created a wall of shadowflame at first to separate Taelani from Adams' chars - i.e. do at least something to help capture her - but Shade decided he knew better, scowled at Ga and ordered him to extinguish the wall.
He then forgot about Taelani once he found out about Kalistra.
Sorry if that sounded biased.
